YouTube’s Shay Mitchell Will Document Her Pregnancy On ‘Almost Ready’ Series

YouTube star Shay Mitchell (You) made an surprise announcement today via her page on the service.

“There is something in the oven and it’s not my pizza!!! Wow… It’s kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you.”

Yes, Mitchell is pregnant with her first child with Matte Babel. And she plans to document her pregnancy journey in a biweekly YouTube Original Series titled Almost Ready, which will premiere on July 17 and post every other Wednesday.

“It’s exciting, nerve-racking, difficult and emotional all at the same time,” said Mitchell on her page. “Everyone waits for the right time to make the announcement, and for me, it wasn’t until I couldn’t hide it anymore and was tired of wearing over-sized sweatshirts. Shay Mitchell Announces She’s Pregnant, With a YouTube Original Series to Follow Her Path to Motherhood
Shay Mitchell
Actress and YouTuber Shay Mitchell revealed on social media Friday that she is six months pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Matte Babel — and her “pregnancy journey” will be documented in an original series on YouTube.

The biweekly YouTube original series “Almost Ready” will premiere every other Wednesday starting July 17 on Mitchell’s YouTube channel and will be free to view (it’s not part of YouTube Premium). The show will follow her as she eats for two, continues the endless hunt for non-alcoholic wine and lathers herself in every oil known to humanity on her journey to motherhood.

Mitchell, 32, previously starred in Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars” and appeared in Netflix series “You.” She’s also joined the cast of upcoming Hulu comedy series “Dollface” with Kat Dennings and Brenda Song.

Her pregnancy announcement comes after she shared with followers in January that she had experienced a miscarriage last year.

The film from Jonah Markowitz and Tracy Wares eatned the documentary award and the audience documentary award.

In other prizes handed out at the end of the festival on Thursday, the U.S. Fiction Award went to Remy Auberjonois for Blood Stripe, while the World Fiction Award was presented to Anaïs Volpé for Heis (chronicles).

As previously stated, the Documentary Award went to Markowitz and Wares for Political Animals, and the La Muse Award was presented to Heidi Saman for Namour.

The Nightfall Award went to Jackson Stewart for Beyond The Gates, while the Audience Award for Fiction Feature Film went to Green / is / Gold, directed by Ryon Baxter.

Markowitz and Wares also collected the Audience Award for Documentary Feature Film for Political Animals.
