All episodes of The Chosen Season 5 are now streaming on Prime Video, but the show has experienced a slight fall from grace thanks to the arrival of new competition. Dallas Jenkins’ hit religious series is currently holding on to the #10 spot on Prime Video streaming charts in America, but it was, at one point, hanging onto the top spot. It has since been dethroned at #1 by Ballard, the Bosch: Legacy spin-off show that has earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes thus far. The latest season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is also a newcomer to the Prime Video top 10, and despite premiering several weeks ago, John Cena and Idris Elba’s new action movie, Heads of State, is also still topping streaming charts.

It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to Madrid for the European Premiere of The Chosen Season 5 (The Chosen Last Supper). This is the latest season of the phenomenally successful Christian historical drama television series, created, directed, and co-written by filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. The series stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus alongside Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, Shaan Sharma, Nick Shakoour, Giavani Cairo, and George H. Xanthis. In the past, the series used crowdfunding on the Angel Studios platform.

Paul Walter Hauser will be joining a shared universe that revolves around The Chosen, and he has good reason to defend his decision. The original show began in 2017 and tells the story of Jesus' life. Jonathan Roumie stars alongside Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Noah James, and more. The initial series quickly became a success and has seen four seasons so far. The Chosen season 5 is already on the way, but a recent announcement revealed that the show will be evolving into a Biblical shared universe akin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hauser is proud of his choice and took to Twitter to explain why. Responding to a Twitter user who complained about Hauser's decision, he elaborated that he is joining the show for several reasons. The Chosen series has been a good performer for The CW and the producers say that seven seasons are planned, taking viewers through Jesus' full story. Three seasons of the show have already been produced, the fourth season is in the works, and the network appears to be committed to airing them.
