The youngest of five children, Michael Kelber was born in Lakewood, New
Jersey. Although he was born in Lakewood, he was raised in Bricktown.
His parents were divorced when he was just two years of age and he was
raised by his mother, Patricia A. Kelber. After high school Michael
attended college briefly before joining the United States Navy. It was
in the Navy he discovered his true purpose was to become an actor. The
1988 film "Permanent Record" changed his mind about his future and gave
him direction. After separating from the military in 1991, he lived in
Germany for several months and then went back to college in New Jersey.
He decided to make the move to New York City in 1995 in pursuit of an
acting career. There he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic
Arts as well as H.B. Studio. He appeared in several off Broadway
productions, independent films and television shows. It was there that
he met his wife, Patricia Lara, and then decided to make the move to
Los Angeles. Since arriving in Los Angeles, he has worked in front of
the camera as and actor and behind the camera as a director. He wrote,
produced and directed his first feature film in 2006 entitled
"Bricktown" and also wrote, produced, acted in and directed a sitcom
pilot entitled HOA (Home Owner's Association). He continues to chase
his dream with the support of his loving wife.
