Gerard Butler’s 2018 heist thriller Den of Thieves is finding a second wind as the highly anticipated sequel approaches, with the movie climbing into Max’s Top 10 streaming chart. The gritty crime drama did not receive the greatest reception when it was released six years ago, but has been proving its worth on streaming, especially with the imminent arrival of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera now less than a month away.

Streaming audiences do not need much excuse to sit down to watch an action movie, with the genre being one of the most popular across all platforms. The resurgence in interest in Butler’s movie not only taps into this trend, but proves that Pantera could have a ready-made audience waiting for its January 10 release.

Directed by Christian Gudegast, Den of Thieves sees Butler playing Nick O’Brien, a detective leading an elite unit tasked with bringing down a group of highly skilled bank robbers.

The first trailer for the long-awaited action sequel Den of Thieves: Pantera is finally here, and finds Gerard Butler reprising one of the roles he was born to play, the gruff Detective Nick "Big Nick" O'Brien. Karen Cooper, longtime director of New York City’s indie cinema gem Film Forum, says she’s stepping down at a good time, not just for her, but for the business. Despite all the naysayers and after slogging through Covid with the help of federal grants and weathering a slow recovery, Cooper said business is currently pretty lively at the lower Manhattan nonprofit cinema she’s run for the past 50 years.

Longtime Film Forum director Karen Cooper is parting ways with the nonprofit New York City cinema after half a century in the role.

Cooper will be succeeded by Sonya Chung, whose position goes into effect July 1. Film Forum’s board, headed by Gray Coleman, unanimously voted on the change in leadership in November 2022. Cooper will remain as an advisor to Chung, with a focus on programming premieres and fundraising.

Exclusive: Prime Video has opted not to order a second season of I Know What You Did Last Summer, a modern take on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan and the 1997 film adaptation.

The YA horror series, produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures TV, debuted Oct. 15 to mixed reviews with the first four episodes, followed by a weekly releases capped by the season finale on Nov. 12.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was part of Amazon Studios’ push in young adult programming. The streamer remains committed to the genre and has breakout The Wilds, which is returning for a second season, animated series Fairfax, which is in the middle of a two-season pickup, and the upcoming The Summer I Turned Pretty, a TV series adaptation of the YA novel series from Jenny Han, the author behind To All The Boys I Loved Before.

The cast of Amazon’s upcoming horror series I Know What you Did Last Summer got a pleasant surprise during the series’ New York Comic Con panel Friday as the stars of the original 1997 film dropped by for some quick “fan questions.”

While appearances by Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Jennifer Love Hewitt were pleasant surprises for the Nycc audience, their words of encouragement and excitement meant more for the talent and creative team of the upcoming show.

“It feels like they’ve given us their blessing; that’s hugely meaningful to me and to all of us,” said showrunner Sarah Goodman. “The last thing we want to do is undermine what they’ve created. We moved to the next generation with full respect to the movie and to the actors that are in it.”

Set to debut October 15, the YA horror series is a modern take on the 1997 slasher.

It's been a while since anything was mentioned about the I Know What You Did Last Summer TV show, but thanks to Amazon's Comic-Con@Home panel, showrunner Sara Goodman teased what can be expected from the James Wan produced series which we now know will hit Amazon Prime Video in October 2021. It is around six months ago that news arrived of who would be starring in the series, including Madison Iseman, Biranne Tju, Sonya Balmores and Spencer Sutherland, but that was the last bit of information until today's announcement.

Amazon’s Comic-Con slot on Friday provided updates to for number of upcoming projects including its I Know What You Did Last Summer series.

The streamer revealed that the YA series, which is a modern take on the 1997 slasher, is set to debut in October, setting the scene for Halloween this year. The project is from py Sony Pictures Television and studio-based Original Film.

Surprise! ABC has officially pulled the plug on Marvel's Inhumans series. It ran for one season, and it's not coming back. Yeah, I know it's not really surprising news. We all knew the show was going to get canceled because it was so damn bad. I personally didn't make it through four episodes. It just never grabbed me.

It's a shame because these are all such great characters and it could've been a solid series if Marvel and the creative team actually handled them properly. In the end, the Inhumans should have been a movie. Oh well, I guess you can't win 'em all, no matter how bad you want to think that you did a great job. I think it's funny that it took them this long to admit defeat.

The decision is not a surprise. The show premiered to modest ratings on ABC following its two-episode debut in Imax theaters two weeks before its linear premiere, and it never picked up steam. Box office receipts of $3.5 million disappointed all involved, and the show drew negative reviews from critics.

Marvel’s Inhumans explored the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family, including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans. After the family is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii, where they are greeted with surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them. Stx Entertainment has released the first trailer and poster for Den of Thieves, a new crime thriller starring Gerard Butler as a legendary Los Angeles cop trying to take down a brazen crew of bank robbers. Along with this new trailer, Stx has also debuted quite the unique poster, with this team of cops lead by Gerard Butler's Nick Flanagan on one side, and the bank robbers lead by 50 Cent's character on the bottom, which can be reversed so the robbers side is on top and the cops are on the bottom. We'll have to wait until January to find out who truly comes out on top in this epic thriller.

Inhumans star Sonya Balmores says it's possible the show crossovers with Marvel's Agents of Shield at some point in the future.

Seeing as every movie and TV show produced by Marvel Studios takes place in the same shared universe – the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to be exact – it’s a constant source of disappointment to fans that any chance of a crossover between the heroes of the silver and small screens has been repeatedly ruled out. This could have changed with Inhumans, though. As the property was originally set to be a movie before being transferred to TV, it was theoretically possible that it would be the one to bridge the gap.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there’s much hope of that happening anymore. While chatting with ComicBook.com, Inhumans star Sonya Balmores – who plays Auran on the show – was asked about the idea of a crossover with the films. She quickly skirted that issue, but did suggest that the series could cross paths with its fellow ABC show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D....

This fall, TV welcomes an engaging and slick new Marvel series about people possessing unique powers.

But in addition to The Gifted, there will also be Marvel’s Inhumans.

What follows is a review of the Inhumans “movie” now playing in IMAX theaters, ahead of the eight-episode ABC series’ launch (on Friday, Sept. 29). What’s in theaters runs 75 minutes, whereas the double-episode TV premiere reportedly includes 10 extra minutes. This review will be relatively non-spoilery, but I cannot speak for the Comments made by those who also ponied up $20 cash to see it in IMAX (nor will we be monitoring them...

Poor Inhumans. While most Marvel TV shows are showered with praise from fans and critics alike, the upcoming ABC series could be about to join Iron Fist as one of the studio’s rare misfires. From the footage we’ve seen so far, many have lambasted the show for bungling the long-awaiting live-action debut of a bunch of beloved characters who’ve entertained comic book readers for decades.

This is an area of the criticism that one member of the Inhumans cast thinks fans should ease up on. Ken Leung – who plays Karnak in the series – has admitted that the show is “just loosely based” on the comics, and hopes that viewers will be able to come to terms with this and accept it as its “own iteration” of the same stories and characters.

Marvel Entertainment and ABC has revealed new character posters for Marvel's "Inhumans". The legendary comic book series will be brought to life in a way that has never been done before, as a version of the first two episodes will be shown globally in IMAX theaters for a two-week period, beginning September 1, 2017. ABC will then air the entirety of the series throughout this fall on the network, with additional exclusive content that can only been seen on ABC. The TV premiere date for the series will be Friday, September 29 (8:00-10:00 p.m. Edt). Marvel has released a new trailer for The Inhumans, which highlights the main characters in the upcoming series. In the process, they show a new shot of Medusa and in that shot, her hair actually doesn't look like an awful wig. We also see her punch people in the face with her hair.

I know a lot of fans are disappointed by what they've seen in the trailers. Hell, I am too, but I'm still going to give the show a chance. I would love for it to turn out to be a great series and prove everyone wrong.

Regardless, with all of the bad press that the show has been getting, I wouldn't be surprised if it bombed. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out when the show is released.

Marvel and ABC’s eight-part Inhumans series is now teetering on the verge of its IMAX premiere – September 1st is the date for your diaries – though it’s fair to say that excitement for Marvel’s Royal Family has been tempered by lukewarm reviews and other criticisms.

However that may be, the Powers That Be are still pulling out all the stops to ensure Inhumans enjoys the biggest premiere possible, with today heralding the arrival of seven – count ’em, seven – character posters that gather together all of the core members of Attilan. Conspicuous by his absence? Iwan Rheon’s Maximus. The former Game of Thrones actor recently conceded that he was somewhat hesitant about signing on to play the younger, unruly sibling to Anson Mount’s Black Bolt, and if SpoilerTV’s damning review of the pilot is anything to go by, Rheon’s initial fears may well turn out to be true.

The broadcast networks have nearly 20 shows debuting this fall, including the maiden space voyage of Fox’s Orville, NBC’s look at Brave heroes and the story of CBS’ Young Sheldon. To help you prep for it all, TVLine is offering First Impressions of the not-for-review pilots.

I love Marvel, they've done a pretty awesome job with almost everything they've done. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like their Inhumans series will fall into the awesome category. The more I see of this series, the more I don't want to watch it. It just looks terrible. Yeah, a lot of people seem to be falling for the giant teleporting dog Lockjaw, but that dog's not going to make the show good. 

You know what else isn't going to make the show good? Medusa's freakin' hair! That has to be one of the biggest things that fans have an issue with, and today we have a clip to share with you that pretty much focuses on that hair. 

The scene features Maximus confronting Medusa as he tries to proposition her. She becomes agitated so her hair starts to act defensively and in the end, it attacks Maximus grabbing him by the throat.

If you happened to catch Sunday’s premiere of Game of Thrones season 7, “Dragonstone,” you likely felt the echoes of one Ramsay Bolton.

Iwan Rheon’s unruly bastard terrorized much of Winterfell throughout the course of the show’s sixth season, and was ultimately left at the mercy of his own hungry hounds – much to the delight of Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Thrones‘ massive following. It’s a credit to Rheon, then, that the character of Ramsay Bolton was brought to life with a palpable menace, and his performance hasn’t gone unnoticed, as the actor is poised to play the juicy role of Maximus the Mad on Marvel’s Inhumans series.

Lost may have been the TV show that made filming in Hawaii cool, but the island state has become a popular filming location in the years since. Hawaii Five-0 films there. The upcoming Jumanji reboot movie used the exotic exteriors as the backdrop for the video game its young characters get pulled into. And now The Inhumans calls the beautiful locale home, the show's main characters forced there after a miltary coup has them thrown out of their Moon-based city of Attilan.

That set-up alone might seem to make Inhumans a hard narrative sell. It's hard to muster up too much sympathy for the Moon's one-percenters forced to live on an island paradise.
