'Kaiju No. 8' Teases Dream Crossover With the King of All Monsters Ahead of His New Movie
Image
Kaiju No. 8has featured a variety of kaiju monsters that have wreaked havoc across Japan, but there is one monster that, despite being part of different franchises, many wish to see appear. Godzillamade an unofficial cameo on the show's social media account, teasing a face-off that many people want to see. Will it come to life? Who knows, but fans hope it will.

Over on the official Kaiju No. 8 Twitter/X account, an illustration by Masahiro Maeda showcases Kafka Hibino going up against Godzilla in his kaiju form. Its translated title reads "Monster vs. Monster Dream Showdown, and it is a dream showdown as this event doesn't occur in the manga. But even if this piece isn't canon, this is a face-off that many fans wish to see, probably in an Ova, so it doesn't break the show's continuity. This isn't the first time Godzilla has been featured in a crossover.

Godzilla Just Launched the Anime Crossover of Our Dreams With an Overdue Cameo
Image
In a moment fans did not know they were waiting for, Godzilla and Kaiju No. 8 have finally collided, at least in art form. An epic collaboration illustration by legendary animator and director Masahiro Maeda has unveiled a clash between Godzilla and Kafka Hibino’s monstrous alter ego, Kaiju No. 8. The dream matchup instantly lit up social media, and it’s easy to see why.

The image shared by @KaijuNo8_O on X is not just a promotional stunt, it is a symbolic meeting of two kaiju generations. Godzilla, the king of monsters who defined the genre, now stares down the face of the modern era's rising star. While it’s not an official crossover anime yet, the visual feels like a long-overdue passing of the radioactive torch.

Evangelion Creator Hideaki Anno's Talent Led to Gundam Legend's Anime Exit
Image
Gundam legend Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director for the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime series and several successive anime, says it was the talent of Neon Genesis Evangelion's Hideaki Anno and his team that convinced him that manga was the better route for him.

In an interview with Toyokeizai, Yasuhiko spoke about various topics related to Gundam, anime and manga. He described being blindsided by the number of young talents entering the anime industry following the success of Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979, which rocked his confidence that had been growing. In the '80s, Hayao Miyazaki, Akira's Katsuhiro Otomo, Hideaki Anno and more changed the relationship between manga, long considered the "master," and anime, which now stood as a medium in its own right. "When I saw how cutting-edge, highly niche anime was being made, I realized that I couldn't do that," Yasuhiko said. His involvement in...
