Bryce Dallas Howard may be known for her roles in three Jurassic Worldmovies and the 2011 film The Help, but in 2004, she starred alongside a future Oscar winner in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village. In the movie, Howard plays Ivy Walker, the visually impaired daughter of Elder Edward Walker (William Hurt) in the mystery-thriller that comes complete with Shyamalan’s signature twists and turns.
Howard’s Ivy character was the love interest of Lucius Hunt, played by Joker’sJoaquin Phoenix. Phoenix would go on to win an Academy Award for his portrayal of the DC villain in 2019’s Joker. Howard, who is now starring in the Prime Video film Deep Cover, is now revealing that she had a huge crush on Phoenix when she was a child.

Amazon Studios' Deep Cover film follows three characters in a comedy-thriller that sees them evolve thanks to the classic art of Improv. The movie follows Bryce Dallas Howard (Kat), Nick Mohammed (Hugh), and Orlando Bloom (Marlon)—two improv actors and one wannabe improv performer—who are given the opportunity to utilize their acting skills to go undercover for the police.
Deep Cover stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Kat), Nick Mohammed (Hugh), and Orlando Bloom (Marlon) sat down with The Direct's Russ Milheim to discuss their latest film, and how each of their characters finds their voices and confidence through the act of Improv. Deep Cover, directed by Tom Kingsley, starts streaming on Amazon's Prime Video on June 12, 2025.
Mohammed teased that his character might "Possibly [have] the biggest journey of the three in terms of his confidence," while Howard noted that her character figures out that her improv teacher skills might be "kind of her superpower.

Up until season 3, Ted Lasso's only nemesis was really ever himself and the fact that he would, quite regularly, get in his own way. But now, the Apple TV+ series has positioned our once-ball boy Nathan Shelley as the season's villain — and it seems as though he won't exactly last with that title.
In episode 9, Nick Mohammed's Nate — who has been working as a coach for West Ham under the tutelage of Rebecca's nasty ex-husband Rupert all season — was propositioned by his boss to join him for a "boy's night." Nate meets Rupert at a bar for the occasion ... and finds two beautiful women with him who have been invited to join them for the night. It's not totally unexpected. After all, Rebecca did call him out about cheating with his secretary a few episodes prior. But Nate's decision to abstain from the fun seems to prove there's hope for him yet.

Nick Mohammed, the two-time Emmy nominee for his co-starring role on Apple TV’s Ted Lasso, will make his U.S. live performance debut for one night only at New York’s Town Hall on Friday, June 2. The show will bring his “Mr. Swallow” alter-ego character to American audiences for the first time.
Though best known to U.S. viewers for Lasso, Mohammed’s Mr. Swallow shows have played to sold out venues across the UK, including multiple dates in London’s West End. According to the Town Hall announcement, “audiences can expect noise, maths, magic and the whole of Les Mis!”
“I honestly can’t wait to unleash Mr. Swallow on US audiences,” Mohammed said in a statement. “Frankly, the character is a bit of a nightmare, so this one-off show could go one of three ways – two of which don’t even bear thinking about! But in all seriousness,...
