‘Death Becomes Her’ team on exceeding the film fans’ expectations and impressing original director Robert Zemeckis

“They’d be silly not to be skeptical, but luckily this movie just happens to have one of the best fan bases,” says Noel Carey, one-half of the Tony-nominated composing team responsible for bringing the cult-classic 1992 film Death Becomes Her to Broadway. Although screen-to-stage adaptations are always dicey propositions, he shares that diehard fans have embraced the musical: “They are really excited about the changes and the nods to the film and instead of getting the movie twice, they’re just getting another Death Becomes Her.” Carey and other creatives from the production sat down with Gold Derby and other journalists at the 2025 Tony Awards Meet the Nominees press event.

‘Death Becomes Her’ Musical Announces Complete Broadway Cast

Death Becomes Her, the Broadway-bound musical starring Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, Christopher Sieber and Michelle Williams, has announced full ensemble casting.

The stage musical adaptation of the 1992 film begins previews Wednesday, October 23, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with opening night on Thursday, November 21.

Joining the previously announced Hilty, Simard, Sieber and Williams will be ensemble players Marija Abney, Lauren Celentano, Sarita Colon, Kaleigh Cronin, Natalie Charle Ellis, Taurean Everett, Michael Graceffa, Neil Haskell, Kolton Krouse, Josh Lamon, Sarah Meahl, Ximone Rose, Sir Brock Warren, Bud Weber, Ryan Worsing, and Warren Yang. Kyle Brown, Lakota Knuckle, Johanna Moise and Amy Quanbeck join as swings.

The full casting was announced today by producer Universal Theatrical Group.

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, Death Becomes Her features a book by Marco Pennette, and an original score by Julia Mattison & Noel Carey.

Nicole Parker Will Now Host La Drama Critics Circle's 45th Annual Awards Ceremony
The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced that Nicole Parker, nominee for Lead Performance in Funny Girl, will host its 45th Annual Awards ceremony replacing the previously announced James Roday. Joining performers Constance Jewell Lopez nominee for Lead Performance in Dreamgirls, Beth Malone, and Lowe Taylor will be Shannon Warne and Kim Huber. Gordon Clapp and Richard Schiff will also perform an excerpt from the La Theatre Works production of Glengarry Glen Ross.
