The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise's official portal site Gundam.info announced on June 27 that singer/otaku idol Shoko Nakagawa sings "Across The World," the theme song for Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom , a new interactive virtual reality movie based on the franchise. This is the first time that Nakagawa has sung a song for the Gundam franchise. She says, "An unprecedented cutting-edge immersion into the Gundam world! I never thought a future like this would come! I hope that the theme song 'Across The World,' which is linked to the movie, will become a memory of your new Gundam experience." Gundam fans got their first glimpse of Silver Phantom at last year's Anime NYC, where it was described as an "immersive adventure" film that combines elements of VR gaming and narrative storytelling to create a brand-new viewing experience. Per Anime News Network, Bandai Namco Filmworks, Meta Quest and French VR company Atlas V have unveiled the film's first trailer, along with staff details and a new key visual. According to Phantom's trailer, the film is set in Universal Century 0096 -- the same era in which the events of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (2010) took place. As shown below, Bandai Filmworks and Atlas V also recently released a special behind-the-scenes video that showcases each step of the production process.

We all love a good tale of the coming apocalypse; it provides a nice backdrop for stuff to go wrong and for individuals to take advantage of their situations. When done well, even the low budget affairs can come out winners. I thought that might be the case at the start of Eiji Uchida's The Last Days of the World unfortunately, this film doesn't deliver.
Kanou is a jaded teenager at a crossroads. He dislikes school but is working hard in an attempt to enter a good university so he doesn't end up like his father, a grad from a third rate school who recently lost his job and can't find another.
