Senior actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar, who has produced the upcoming Marathi web-show ‘Ek kale Che Mani’, has said that the show is a take on the young generation, which believes in charting its own course.

The show will present a quirky and hilarious ride of a Marathi family as it will take the audience through the life of parents with middle-class values, pitted against their own kids, representing the younger generation who want to lead a different path of life.

Talking about the show, producer Mahesh Manjrekar said in a statement: “I am happy and proud that I have produced this show, ‘Eka Kale che Mani’. I myself have grown with middle-class values and every parent wants their kids to grow like them and ingrain those values. It’s a take on the younger generation who wants to carve their own path as per their wish and will.”

Mumbai, Jan 6: Well-known Marathi actor and comedian Prashant Damle is set to enter the Guinness World Records with a staggering 10,700th show, staged here Saturday night.

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Home Minister R.R. Patil, Cultural Affairs Minister Sanjay Deotale, and Mumbai Mayor Sunil Prabhu witnessed the performance and later felicitated Damle in the presence of top names from Marathi cinema.

"The present record is being held by a Japanese actor with 10,288 shows to his credit, now I have surpassed that with 10,700 performances in the past 30 years," an excited Damle, 52, told Ians here Sunday.

In a rousing display of patriotism and unity, the voices of thousands of Aurangabadkars, singing ‘Jana Gana Mana’ in full-throated fervour, created history this morning on the eve of Republic day. With a tally of 15243, they took India into the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘the most people singing a national anthem simultaneously’, erasing the previous record held by Pakistan for 5800 individuals.
