The Sos Brigade is back later this month with a new music video! Once again, the core cast of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is singing, dancing and seeking out the paranormal — this time in a preview for a new crowdfunded music video. The crowdfunding campaign ran from November 2024 to January 2025, supporting a new song and music video project. Today on Tanabata (a big day for the Brigade as seen in the episode "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody"), the fans finally get to see Haruhi and friends back in action. The project's crowdfunding campaign opened on Campfire on November 15 at 20:00 (Jst). Now at the time of reporting, the campaign has raised 27,181,173 yen from 727 supporters five days after the launch, which is 271% of the initial 10 million yen goal. The first 10 million yen goal would guarantee the production of a new song performed by Haruhi Suzumiya, Mikuru Asahina and Yuki Nagato including a music video using a 3D model of Haruhi. As reported in August , The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya ( Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekijo in Japanese), the latest 13th volume of Nagaru Tanigawa's Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series will release simultaneously in Japan and worldwide on November 29, 2024. This project has been launched to commemorate the release. The crowdfunding campaign for the project will open on Campfire on November 15 at 20:00 (Jst). The initial target amount is 10 million yen. If that first goal is achieved, a song sung by Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato and a music video using a 3D model of Haruhi are guaranteed to be produced.
