“That f*cking deer just took the f*cking elevator.”
The first teaser trailer for a new sci-fi horror comedy titled Cold Storage has been released online, and this one looks like it could be a lot of gruesome, gloopy fun.
Starring Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) and Liam Neeson (The Naked Gun), the story focuses on a pair of self-storage employees (Keery and Campbell) who must fight to survive after an outbreak of a lethal parasitic fungus which makes quick - and explosively messy - work of anyone it infects.
Neeson plays a military man who first encounters the fungus, but we don't expect to see much of him in this movie (there's a good chance the trailer features shots from all of his scenes).
Jonny Campbell (Dracula) directs from a script written by David Koepp based on his novel. Zombieland and Panic Room’s Gavin Polone is producing,...

Imagine if there was a spin-off to The Last of Us that starred Liam Neeson as a retired bioterror operative who teams up with a couple of young kids to stop a zombie outbreak. Imagine even further if that spin-off was a horror comedy thriller filled with over-the-top gore, and you have yourself Cold Storage, the new flick by director Jonny Campbell that was written by the same person who's penned such hits as Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, and Spider-Man.
Thankfully, you don't have to imagine it any longer, as the first trailer for Cold Storage just dropped (seen below), and if it's any indication of what the actual movie will be like, we're in for a real treat when it hits theaters next year. Seriously, this movie has everything from exploding heads and a military cover-up, to elevator-riding deer and infected felines. What's not to love?

Netflix is bringing the thrills and chills all the way through the heat of summer with its scary movies, and of course, TheWrap wants to show you the best ones to watch first.
No, but seriously, Netflix is definitely doing its big one with its slate of horror flicks this month. Matt Smith feels like a mess of contradictions. He often comes across as charming and even a little bit goofy, but can also imbue his work with a surprising amount of menace. He's excellent at picking television series to work on, but has appeared in bomb after bomb on the big screen. So what can we make of this actor who seems to be made up of so many different parts?
An aspiring football player, Smith made the switch the acting after an injury sidelined his athletic career. After a string of small roles on television, he landed what would become his big break playing the Doctor on "Doctor Who." Since then, he's taken on a variety of different roles, sometimes the hero and sometimes the villain (and often somewhere in between), appearing in both film and television. Netflix recently added one of the best horror films of the decade in Barbarian. If you survived that onslaught to the senses, we've got three more horrifying tales for you.
A quick note: like Barbarian, all three of these films are led by strong women, both the characters and actresses. So if you're the incel-type with mommy issues, you might want to stay safe with your Jason and Freddy fantasies. The adults will be watching these.
As in director Zach Cregger's startling debut film, all three of these films feature women who are thrown into the role of the victim, but (no spoilers) attempt to fight their way through the grisly events they face. A side note: for certain bloggers. I see this all too often. "Grizzly" refers to a type of bear. "Grisly" is derived from the Old English "grislic", meaning horrible. And horrible fates await in all three of these films.

Horror Hit Film Smile On Netflix(Photo Credit –YouTube)
Netflix has added Smile to its lineup, a 2022 horror hit that made a significant impact both at the box office and among genre fans. The movie, starring Sosie Bacon as a therapist whose life spirals after witnessing a disturbing patient’s suicide, dives headfirst into psychological horror. What follows is a steady unraveling of her reality as she becomes haunted by terrifying visions, each more intense than the last.
Smile’s Box Office Triumph
The story builds on Laura Hasn’t Slept, a short film by Parker Finn, who returned to expand his eerie concept into a full-length feature. Smile has earned solid reviews with its unsettling atmosphere and strong performance, and pulled in over $217 million globally (per Box Office Mojo). That success paved the way for a sequel, which arrived in 2024, and a third installment is already in the works.

Step aside, Demogorgons, Steve Harrington has a new dangerous threat to fight. Stranger Things star Joe Keery steps into the shoes of a self-storage employee named Teacake in the upcoming thriller film Cold Storage, to be released later this year.
Teacake and his co-worker Naomi (played by Barbarian star Georgina Campbell) are tasked with monitoring the units within the storage center, which was built in an old US military base. But as these things often go, something escapes and causes catastrophe. In this case, the escapee is a parasitic fungus that rapidly mutates along with the rising temperature within the facility, unleashing "brain-controlling, body-bursting terrors."
The low-level employees are left to fend for themselves against the anomaly alongside a grizzled bioterror operative played by Liam Neeson (Taken). If the trio doesn't prevent the virus from escaping, it could spell the end of humankind.

Almost three years have gone by since we first heard about the comedic sci-fi virus thriller Cold Storage, which went into production two years ago, and now Variety has provided a major update on the project: Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the North American distribution rights and are planning to give the film a nationwide theatrical release later this year.
Doctor Who and Westworld director Jonny Campbell took the helm of Cold Storage, working from a screenplay by David Koepp. Koepp has been one of the biggest screenwriters in Hollywood for about thirty years at this point, having worked on such films as Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Panic Room, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and The Mummy. Koepp wrote the script for Cold Storage based on his 2019 novel of the same name, which you can pick up at This Link.

In 2022, Parker Finn made an everyday facial movement absolutely terrifying when he unleashed Smile upon the world. Unique, grotesque, and downright chilling, the Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner-led film was a hit with critics and audiences alike, earning a Certified Fresh approval rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Two years after the smile curse was unveiled to theater-goers around the world, Finn came back with a vengeance through his 2024 film, Smile 2. There’s no arguing that last year was incredibly wonderful for genre fans, and, at the top of that entertainment list, you’d find Finn’s follow-up feature. Starring Naomi Scott as Skye Riley, a pop superstar who’s been infected by the grinning curse, the movie became one of the genre’s top-grossers of the year and was a favorite among audiences. But, what’s next for the blossoming franchise?...

Demons have haunted humanity's tales since the dawn of time, with different parts of the world coming up with uniquely nightmarish monsters to be afraid of. Since the era of filmmaking, however, stories of demon possession have become a part of global pop culture. One of the most recent additions to this subgenre of horror movies is The Pope's Exorcist, available to stream on Netflix. Though a promising story based on a real exorcist, the movie failed to bring anything new to the genre.
However, there are some impactful horror movies with a demon as the villain. Some of these are icons of the genre, whereas others haven't received the credit they deserve. The majority of these demons have chilling physical forms, terrifying origin stories, and shocking abilities that make them the scariest demonic forces in horror. That said, even those invisible to the naked eye are capable of terrifying the bravest viewers.

The following contains spoilers for Smile 2, now streaming on Paramount+Smile 2's ending sets up Smile 3, but that film could lose the strongest aspects of the franchise. Smile 2 was a critical and commercial hit, building on the success of the previous film by shifitng the story from Sosie Bacon's Dr. Rose Cotter to the globally-known pop-star Skye Riley. Infected with the same seemingly demonic entity that preys on trauma and spreads through horrific acts of self-harm, Riley's arc was unique to Rose's but consistent with the rules and themes of the first film. The result was a compelling companion piece to the original that amplified the horror.
This includes Smile 2's ending, which takes the dangers posed by the nameless and horrifying Entity and amplifies it on a colossal scale. On one level, this is an exciting development that continues to broaden the scope...
