What Does ‘Pluribus’ Really Mean in Vince Gilligan’s Sci-Fi Show on Apple TV+
Image
If you remember your history lessons, the word Pluribus is part of “E Pluribus Unum,” meaning the whole out of many, one. Vince Gilligan‘s highly anticipated drama, Pluribus, is set to challenge our perceptions about happiness and communal well-being.

This genre-bending drama features Rhea Seehorn, Carolina Wydra, and will also star Miriam Shor as a guest in the show. As per Variety, the nine-episode drama will conclude its first season on December 26, and it has already been renewed for Season 2.

But what does Pluribus even mean? Giving a completely different energy, Gilligan is taking the utterly confusing concept and flipping it on its head, turning the drama into something low-key terrifying. Let’s delve deep into what the visionary’s perception is about this Apple TV+ show and what it has in store for the audience.

What Is the Absolute Meaning of Pluribus? Rhea Seehorn will be playing a...

10 Anime Censorships We Actually Agree With
Image
The following contains spoilers and discussions of sensitive subjects. Proceed with caution.

Censorship in anime and just about every form of art is a tricky subject. On the one hand, banning or censoring something on the basis of current social norms could lead to a slippery slope where nothing is safe. But, conversely, giving anime creators total freedom but with no discipline can and will lead to offensive material being made mainstream. In the case of these anime, it was a good thing some key censors and cuts were made.

These anime were based on manga that went too far when it came to pushing boundaries or challenging good taste, which is why it was understandable and even necessary for them to make some changes. That's not to say that these anime's respective source material should never have been adapted in the first place. Every work of art has a right to be made,...

Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell in Talks to Star in ‘Single White Female’ Redo
Image
Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell are in talks to star in a new take on the 1992 film “Single White Female,” TheWrap has learned. The thriller is set up at Elizabeth Gabler’s 3000 Pictures and Sony.

“Single White Female” stars Bridget Fonda as a woman who rents an apartment after a breakup, only to reunite with her ex-boyfriend. But upon reconciliation, her tenant — played by Jennifer Jason Leigh — starts to exhibit odd behavior.

It’s unclear which actress would be playing which role in the new film.

Directed by Barbet Schroeder, the film was based on the John Lutz book “Swf Seeks Same.” The movie became something of a cultural touchstone as the phrase “Single White Female” entered the lexicon as short-hand for a woman gone off the rails.

Ortega is coming off a key role in last year’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and reprises the title role in Netflix’s “Wednesday” Season 2 later this year.

After 2 Seasons, You Can't Convince Me Solo Leveling isn't the Most Overrated Anime Ever
Image
It goes without saying that Solo Leveling(also known as "Only I Level Up"in South Korea) is the biggest anime of the moment. Based on the hit web novel written by Chugong and the equally popular webtoon illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (aka Dubu), Solo Leveling took the world by storm when it was turned into a massively successful anime in 2024. It also helps that the incredibly talented A-1 Studios animated the story, and none other than Hiroyuki Sawano scored the series.

With this in mind,it brings me no joy to say that, two seasons in, Solo Leveling is one of — if not — the most overrated anime I've seen in recent memory. That's not to say that it's bad or that it's somehow unwatchable. With the right mindset, Solo Leveling can be enjoyable and even exhilarating. It's also undeniably one of the best-made and best-looking anime airing right now.

‘I deliberately wrote something that would sell well’: ‘Redo of Healer’ Knew How Much Fans Love Revenge Fantasy but Went Too Far Even for Seinen Standard
Image
There are many works with unique premises that have been adapted into anime. Redo of Healer remains one of the most controversial anime for many reasons. It is a blend of revenge fantasy with extreme adult-rated content that pushes the limits of what’s acceptable in mainstream media.

A still from Redo of Healer | Caption: Tnk

The work takes advantage and capitalizes on the lack of good revenge fantasy anime that fans seemed to want more of. Although much of the work has erotic scenes, that kind of novel does not sell much. But by adding in the crucial element of revenge, the work had an added layer of complexity to it.

This is what attracted many fans to read the novel, thus increasing its popularity despite its extreme content. Let us see how the author conceptualized the work and how it pushes the boundaries of the Seinen genre.

Where to Buy the School Days Fairy Tail Perfume: Prices Revealed - Main Image

Nearly 17 years after the anime aired, School Days got a surprise perfume collaboration with Japanese scent brand Fairy Tail Parfum. To be exact, this new perfume lineup features three scents, each inspired by a certain School Days character.

As a bonus, there’s a pouch available for sale that is inspired by the infamous bag that was used in the anime’s controversial final episode.

What Does the School Days Perfume Smell Like?

Up first in the School Days perfume collection is a scent inspired by Makoto Ito, the controversial school romance anime's protagonist.

Its scent is described as “unrestrained yet captivating,” and its fragrance notes reflect this. The perfume features top notes of blueberries and daffodils, meaning it’s a combination of a fruity and flowery scent.

Meanwhile, the middle notes are rose, apple, jasmine,...
