More recently, there have been speculations around Odyssey’s release on Netflix, although there’s been no official update. However, there are a few forgotten Nolan films that aren’t being talked about nearly enough.

This article contains spoilers for Marvel Knights: The World To Come #2.
Christopher Priest and Joe Quesada have been working on their new series, Marvel Knights: The World to Come, for a number of years now, and the two star creators likely knew that their story was going to be a big deal upon its release, and sure enough, the comic book world was thrown for a loop when the first issue ended with the reveal that, in the future, T'Challa (the Black Panther) would be battling his son for the role of the King of Wakanda, but that his son, Ketema, would be White!
This week's Marvel Knights: The World to Come #2 reveals the conclusion of that battle, and sure enough, Ketema takes over as the leader of Wakanda in the future, and it is his taking over the role of his adopted father that sets everything into motion in this decades-spanning adventure.

However, in a shocking twist, Wakanda's future king was revealed to be a young white kid with light hair and blue eyes. In Marvel Knights: The World to Come #2, T'Challa officially yields in order to spare Everett Ross' life, thus transferring the throne to Ketema.

Vampirella is a woman, yet also a vampire, and an alien. In a modern world where the search for identity is pivotal, the Daughter of Drakulon finds herself caught questioning if she is even an actual person. Christopher Priest’s half-decade-plus legendary run ramps up in Vampirella #7 — legacy numbering #682 — for its next thrilling story arc!
Vampirella was originally created by her mother Lilith as a near-virtual clone of her first daughter Draculina. This raises a question: does Vampi in fact have a living soul? Does she possess all the rights and responsibilities of personhood? Or is she merely a construct, devised by dark sorcery and now an aimless husk, having fulfilled her mother’s purpose?
Following the devastating denouement of “The Long Night” in issues #1-6 of the new Vampirella series, industry titan and innovator Christopher Priest kicks into the next gear for another of his patented and unparalleled character deconstructions.

Last week, Marvel Comics shocked the world with the release of Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1. Written by former Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada and famed Black Panther scribe Christopher Priest, the first issue ended by revealing this alternate future's new Black Panther.
Ketema is the son of T'Challa and Monica Lynne, and after he bests his father in combat and earns the right to rule over Wakanda, we learn that he's a white man with blonde hair. Unsurprisingly, the reaction has been vocal and isn't all that different from the outrage that surrounded Captain America's big "Hail Hydra" moment (later revealed to be the result of his reality being rewritten by a Cosmic Cube).
While we're not expecting an explanation quite that drastic, a white man being Black Panther is certainly controversial. We have reason to believe that there are more twists to come in this story in the coming months,...

Marvel has introduced a new Black Panther, and it's brought about varying reactions from fans online. Standing out in the sea of reactions is the return of the "Ryan Gosling as Black Panther" meme.
The revelation came in Marvel Comics' Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1. In the story, created by Joe Quesada and Christopher Priest, a newcomer takes on the Black Panther mantle after winning a tribal challenge to succeed T'Challa. The victor, Ketema, is revealed to be a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes. Introducing a white Black Panther is something that's been previously joked about with social media posts imagining Ryan Gosling in the role, and in light of the events of the new comic, the meme has returned.

The Marvel Universe is one of the biggest fictional worlds of all time, with sprawling narrative and endless tales and countless characters. As impressive and praiseworthy as its complex world-building is, it has also led to several controversies.
However, none of the former issues or controversies might come close to the upcoming bombshell Marvel Knights: The World To Come #1 on June 4, 2025, introducing Ketema, a white, blonde-haired son of T’Challa, as the new Black Panther. We're not sure if there's much point in even putting a spoiler tag here since the news is now all over the internet, but just in case, major spoilers for issue #1 of Marvel Knights: The World to Come follow.
As we reported yesterday, the six-issue series from Christopher Priest, Joe Quesada, Richard Isanove and Richard Starkings begins with the death of T'Challa as an old man, before we flash back to the events that led to his demise, and the emergence of a new Black Panther... who just so happens to be a white guy named Ketema.
Though we're sure there are a few twists and turns to come in this story, we are led to believe that the "Caucasian son" T'Challa had with Monica Lynne (how that works is anyone's guess) grew up with some unresolved daddy issues, and ultimately ended up challenging and defeating his father to claim the throne of Wakanda.

The Marvel Knights: The World to Come collection has just launched with its first issue and is already revolutionizing social media and conversations among those who closely follow the comic book universe. And no wonder: the new bearer of the Black Panther mantle is an unexpected, controversial figure, and, for many, difficult to fit in. The reason? The new Black Panther is white.
Spoilers Ahead! The story, written by Christopher Priest and drawn by Joe Quesada, gets off to a strong start: T'Challa, the king of Wakanda, dies as an old man. But far from being a finale, his death is the starting point of an inherited, personal, and deeply political conflict.
Before his death, T'Challa leaves behind a complicated legacy. After Storm died in an event called the Race War, the former king of Wakanda made a drastic decision: to have a child with Monica Lynne, one of his former partners in the comics.

Warning: Spoilers for Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1Marvel has just introduced the successor to Black Pantheras Ketema, the future son of T'Challa. The revelation has arrived in Marvel Knights: The World to Come leaping 25 years into Marvel's future, where a new leader to the Wakandan people blossoms the era anew, but the choice of who is under the mask may be enough to produce controversy in-universe, and for real fans.
Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1 marks the debut of Ketema, the Black Panther's son. This past weekend, after a long battle with ill health, we lost Peter David. So, as he pulls his chair up to the great writing desk in the heavenly bullpen, we look back at the career of one of comics’ most prolific and creative writers.
David’s career in comics began via the journalism route after graduating from New York University with a degree in journalism. After finding this a tough egg to crack, he decided to pursue a career in fiction. Still, it was a long journey from making this decision. Following on from some smaller publishing jobs, he served five years in Marvel’s sales department. At the time, Christopher Priest was editor of Spectacular Spider-Man and bought a script off David, being impressed by his ‘maverick’ like quality. Quick LinksBlack Panther Recasting Rumors Invalidate Wakanda ForeverThe Next Black Panther Movie Has Nowhere to GoOne of the McU's Biggest Heroes May Have a Fading Star
The 2018 Marvel Studios movie Black Panther was a major success, with the film following the character's cinematic debut two years beforehand and cementing him as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most notable heroes. Sadly, things were derailed due to the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed Black Panther/T'Challa until the release of Avengers: Endgame. Now, at least one more movie is planned, but the franchise itself might not be where it once was.
Rumors persist that T'Challa will soon be recast in the next few years, and this act would only make 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever completely pointless. Furthermore, that movie already furthered a problem of the series not having much material to organically use for the property. Add in...

Ladies and gentlemen, it's rumor time! And this is a big one, so buckle up, Marvel fans, because this could be huge. Though, for now, we have to caution that the word "could" is doing a whole lot of work for the time being. It looks like Oscar-winner Denzel Washington might potentially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What's more, he may help get the long-awaited "X-Men" reboot off the ground by taking on a key role as one of the most powerful mutants around.
According to Jeff Sneider on "The Hot Mic" podcast, Washington is potentially going to play Magneto in the forthcoming "X-Men" reboot, which is in development as we speak. While Sneider didn't outright say that name, the journalist said it's "totally possible that [Washington] could be playing an X-Men character," before asking listeners to "do the leap." Sneider then said he "definitely thinks Denzel could be the villain of X-Men.

Rumor: Black Panther 3's Villain Has Been Revealed; [Spoiler] Also Reportedly Set To Make MCU Return
We've been hearing a lot about plans for the McU's Black Panther in recent weeks. It all started when the news broke that Marvel Studios is supposedly looking to cast a new T'Challa, with the prevailing theory being that the Multiverse Saga will somehow age up Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Toussaint.
Regardless of whether it's T'Challa II or a Multiversal Variant, the news that Black Panther will live to fight another day has pleased most fans. Following in the late Chadwick Boseman's footsteps will not be easy, but the majority seem ready to see another actor honour his and the character's legacy.
Black Panther 3 is officially in the works with Gladiator II star Denzel Washington already confirmed to appear. Ryan Coogler will once again direct the project, while MCU veteran Nate Moore is attached to produce despite recently announcing his Marvel Studios departure.
Now, we have news on the threequel's villains.

If any superhero has a reputation for being downright grim, it's Batman - but even he has a funny side. The Caped Crusader is one step away from being emo and one bad day away from being a villain. The Dark Knight truly lives up to his dark moniker by being absolutely brooding when the opportunity presents itself. However, to say that Batman is exclusively dark, brooding, and grim would be false.
Maybe there was a time when that perception about him was true, but since beginning his crimefighting career, he's gained friends within the Justice League and found a family in the Bat-Family. Batman doesn't need to be doom and gloom at every turn anymore. He may not look the part, but he is just as much of a bright, beacon of hope as Superman is. He's capable of being lighthearted, cracking a joke and a smile, and...

The speculation over Christopher Nolan’s next movie has come to an end. Universal revealed Monday that Nolan will adapt The Odyssey, the epic poem from Homer that follows Odysseus’ journey home after the Trojan war.
“Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology,” said the studio. “The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.”
Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron star in the feature.
Nolan has delved with period pieces before, including best picture winner Oppenheimer, which told the story of the creation of the Atomic Bomb, and The Prestige, an adaptation of Christopher Priest’s novel centering on two rival magicians amid the backdrop of 1890s London.

This issue was never not going to make the list. I choose it because it centres around Maverick but of course, it is a Wolverine story first and foremost. When I got into collecting Wolverine comics one of the things I wanted to learn about first was the history of Team X. In that regard this issue delivers as it alternates between the past and present. In te present Maverick has contracted the Legacy Virus and is attempting to trick Wolverine into killing him. The flashbacks reveal how Maverick would go to any lengths to complete a mission after Sabretooth has sabotaged their exit route. There are elements in this story that are touched upon in novels and cartoons that I had read before this issue, so to see it in comics was very cool.

Kraven the Hunter is now playing in theaters but it wasn't always the plan for the villain to get his own movie in Sony's Spider-Man Universe.
What you might not realise is that Marvel Studios hoped to use the character not just in its Spider-Man franchise (which is produced in partnership with Sony) but Black Panther as well. In fact, filmmaker Ryan Coogler hoped to put Sergei Kravinoff front and centre in T'Challa's first solo outing.
"Being a Marvel fan, you want to grab all the characters," he said shortly after Black Panther's release in 2018. "You realise there’s contractual things. You don’t have that character. There was a Christopher Priest run that was pretty heavy, there’s a big scene where Panther’s fighting Kraven, Kraven the Hunter."
"I’ve always loved Kraven the Hunter in almost every iteration. So there was a moment – ‘Can I grab Kraven?...

Just when you think you’ve sorted out who’s fighting whom, the plot has already high-jumped into a whole new dimension. And speaking of high jumps, let’s discuss Kraven the Hunter—a character whose incoming spotlight just might shift the sands in the superhero universe.
The buzz around the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film, directed by J. C. Chandor, has fans feeling like kids in a candy store. Finally, Kraven is set to claw his way into the limelight! Although he’s no stranger to the stage (think cartoons and video games), it’s hard not to reminisce about how this wild ride could have started with a different ticket—straight out of Black Panther.

Fun fact: Once upon a time, Ryan Coogler wanted Kraven the Hunter to be one of the main antagonists of Black Panther, intending to recreate a famously intense showdown between T’Challa and Kraven from Christopher Priest’s comics run in the 1990s for the 2018 blockbuster. The only thing that stopped him was the fact that Sony held the rights.
Considering that this is the man who managed to turn a third-stringer like Namor into a violent revolutionary rebuke of colonization, it’s easy to imagine what Coogler might’ve done with Kraven as a supernaturally dangerous, unhinged poacher in Africa. And it would have been easy to do it during J.C. Chandor’s Kraven the Hunter: a shapeless, rudderless, unimaginative bore that fumbles the ball with every single conceivable aspect of the character.
There’s one thing that soars in the film, and it’s Russell Crowe as Kraven’s abusive overlord father,...

Deathstroke's missing eye in Allwinter is a nod to the original comics with a new twist, emphasizing his complex character. Fans are getting a sympathetic, complex Deathstroke in Allwinter, transforming him into a Viking antihero. Deathstroke's loss of an eye to his wife adds depth to his character, making him more relatable and attracting a new fanbase.
Deathstroke is gaining traction as a popular DC character, and like many villains of recent lore, he's starting to get his own antihero treatment. The Kasper Cole version of Black Panther was and still is perfect for the MCU. Kasper Cole could explore the Black Panther’s legacy beyond Wakanda while still expanding the franchise. A Black Panther: Kasper Cole TV series could still introduce him on Disney+.
Ever since the character's 2018 solo movie, the Black Panther franchise has been one of the most profitable and popular within the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite the tragic passing of lead actor Chadwick Boseman, the series continued with the 2022 sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There's now an upcoming Black Panther animated series on Disney+ that's set to expand the property's mythos, and the streaming platform might be a good way to introduce another Black Panther.
Kasper Cole was one of the individuals to use the Black Panther name in the comics. Despite this, he had next to nothing to do with T'Challa or the Wakandan culture.
