Today, Prime Video released the official trailer and key art for American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans, a feature-length documentary about NASCAR’s 2023 endeavor to compete in the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans race with an American stock car.

The documentary, formerly known as “Garage 56,” will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on June 12. American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans is the latest addition to the Prime membership.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the crown jewels of international motorsports. It’s a showcase of sports car racing excellence that tests the limits of man and machine.

For the race’s 100th anniversary running in June 2023, an invitation was extended to NASCAR to bring an American stock car Chevrolet Camaro to compete against the futuristic Ferrari and Porsche prototypes and attempt to complete the grueling 24-hour challenge that is Le Mans.

TV host and car enthusiast Ant Anstead filed for bankruptcy for his car company. This comes just a short time after he admitted that investing in his company as a great risk. It also comes after fraud allegations arose against Renee Zellweger’s boyfriend.

Ant Anstead’s bespoke carmaker, Roadford Motors, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (via People). The filing was made on October 22 and this came after fraud and misrepresentation allegations rose up against Ant and his company.

Ant revived defunct British automaker Radford in 2020, aiming to build high-end, custom sports cars. In 2023, he and Formula One champ Jenson Button starred in the five-part docuseries called Radford Reborn. They created a Lotus-Radford Type 62-2 supercar.

ANt said at the time it was high risk, and he and six other people were privately funding the company.

That’s certainly a relief where this column is concerned, though streaming platforms weren’t due to run out of content completely for another few months. Keanu Reeves is steering into a new direction with upcoming Hulu series “Brawn: The Impossible Formula One Story.”

A U.K. Original series, “Brawn” will debut on Disney+ globally outside of the U.S. and on Hulu stateside. The four-part docuseries sees “John Wick” star Reeves dive deeper into the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship that saw an underdog team win big.

In 2009, competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, the impossible happened. An understaffed, under-financed, and independent team won the World Championship — with a team that cost just one euro.

“Brawn” features interviews with those involved in the championship, including exclusive F1 archival footage that has been previously unseen. British F1 drivers Jenson Button and Ross Brawn, who both led the team to victory, appear in the series alongside Reeves.

Jim Wiseman’s Sky original documentary “Williams and Mansell: Red 5” is set for a debut on Sky Documentaries and Now on July 8. Featuring some of the biggest names in F1, it follows Nigel Mansell and the Williams Racing team’s rise to fame told through the eyes of his team, family and drivers including Jenson Button, Damon Hill and Karun Chandhok.

Mansell grew up in England in the 1960s, dreaming of becoming a professional race car driver, despite not having the financial means for it, while Frank Williams was realizing his own dream at the company he founded, Williams Grand Prix Engineering. The two joined forces, and after years of trying to win together, Mansell left to join Ferrari and then ultimately retired from racing after years of ups and downs, without ever winning the Formula One Drivers’ Championship. But seemingly overnight, he came out of retirement and re-joined Williams Racing.

A new documentary from NASCAR Studios that will chronicle its special “Garage 56” entry at the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been greenlit by Prime Video.

The Hendrick Motorsports Crew won the 24 Hours of Le Mans Pit Stop Challenge. The team finished fifth overall, but topped 16 teams in the Gte class.

The documentarywill premiere exclusively on Prime Video. No release date has been announced.

Ken Block, a motorsport legend who created the viral Gymkhana YouTube video series, has died aged 55 following a snowmobile accident.

Block’s clothing company Hoonigan Industries confirmed the news on Instagram following reports, stating: “Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.”

Block was in Utah when he died. He was riding a snowmobile up a steep slope in Wasatch County when the vehicle upended, landing on top of him, according to the local Sheriff’s office, which wrote the news on Facebook and said he was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained.

Born in the U.S. in 1967, Block broke through in the motorsport world in 2005, beginning his rallying career with the Vermont SportsCar team as he won Rookie of the Year.

Spurred by the popularity of Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the high-octane docu-series now filming its fifth season, new audiences in the U.S. are finally finding a sport that’s wildly popular across the globe. As a result, the U.S. now boasts a record three F1 races on its calendar: one in Miami, held for the first time last May; one in Austin, on October 23; and a new race in Las Vegas, scheduled for November 23, 2023.

Disney+ has commissioned a doc on the sensational ‘Wagatha Christie’ legal case, another on fashion magazine Vogue and a Keanu Reeves-voiced Formula 1 series as part of its UK slate.

In total, the streamer’s Director of Unscripted Content, Emea Sean Doyle has commissioned five unscripted series, which will premiere on Disney+ in Emea and Asia Pacific. Full details of the slate can be found below.

“Our aim was to find brilliant once-in-a-lifetime stories that showcase a wide range of subjects; and these latest projects truly deliver on that promise,” said Doyle. “We’re working with our elite creative partners on this slate, reflecting the UK’s status as an unscripted powerhouse and establishing Disney+ as a destination for unscripted titles.”

Disney+ has unveiled an eclectic slate of five new U.K. unscripted originals spanning a broad range of talent and topics from Keanu Reeves to arguably the most talked about U.K. trial in years.

Wagatha Christie (working title), produced by Lorton Street Entertainment in association with Dorothy Street Pictures, will be uncovering one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain over the last decade, revealing how Coleen Rooney, wife of soccer star Wayne Rooney, turned amateur sleuth to reveal who had been leaking private stories to the press, and the high-profile defamation case brought against her by fellow footballer’s wife Rebekah Vardy. In something of a coup for Disney+, the three-part series will be told through exclusive access to Rooney, alongside interviews with family, friends and key players involved in the trial.

Keanu Reeves is working on a documentary about Formula One for Disney+, Variety has learned.

The as-yet-untitled four-part docuseries will reportedly focus on Formula 1 managing director Ross Brawn, who in 2009 bought the Honda team, renamed it Brawn Gp and took it to two unprecedented championship victories.

Reeves will host the doc and has already been conducting interviews. Among those believed to be on board are former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo, whom Reeves was pictured with last month, and drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. Brawn himself is also set to take part.

All3Media-owned North One Television is understood to be producing the series.

Jenson Button has sparked speculation he's set to join 'Top Gear'. The Formula 1 driver has hinted he could be set to join host Chris Evans on the revamped BBC car show after dodging questions about whether or not he's planning to retire from the motor sport. He said: ''You're just going to have to wait a little bit longer. I'll be happy next year, that's the important thing.'' BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris also added to speculation by telling listeners there were ''rumours of a 'Top Gear'-related press conference in Suzuka'', where Button will be for the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend.

Rochelle Humes has been making a name for herself as a TV presenter in recent times, and now her bandmate Mollie King has suggested a surprising TV role.

"I think I should be one of the next Top Gear presenters," she told Notion magazine. "Think about it, it's perfect. Nobody would see it coming.

"Women are obviously better drivers than men, for a start; so I'd be bringing skill, but I think that show needs a bit of girl power."

We think she's joking. Having said that, new host Chris Evans has mentioned on several occasions that he expects to hire at least one female presenter as part of his rebooted Top Gear lineup, but Mollie's probably not high up on the list.

Suzi Perry, Dermot O'Leary and Formula 1 star Jenson Button are among the names being bandied about as potential Top Gear co-hosts, while Jodie Kidd has taken her name off the list.

BT has said it didn't even consider bidding for Jeremy Clarkson's new motoring show.

Clarkson and his fellow former Top Gear presenters Richard Hammond and James May have signed up with Amazon Prime in a deal which includes a whopping budget of £160m - working out at around £4.5m per episode.

BT Sport and TV managing director Delia Bushell told The Guardian: "To be honest I didn't consider it. It just wasn't right for us."

She went on: "It's a fantastic franchise, but it made more sense for a global player like Netflix because Top Gear has huge Us revenues as well."

Clarkson was axed from the BBC's Top Gear earlier this year after verbally and physically attacking producer Oisin Tymon.

Jeremy Clarkson has found his post-punch project: Alongside fellow ex–Top Gear hosts James May and Richard Hammond, the irascible Clarkson has signed on to host a new automotive series on Amazon Prime, which will start streaming sometime next year. It's a savvy move, contractually: The non-compete clause in the trio's old BBC contract apparently only forbade them from signing with a competing British channel for two years, and said absolutely nothing about working with the content-producing arm of an American logistics company. Meanwhile, we now know how Top Gear will hope to survive without the three ex-presenters: BBC Two has tapped Chris Evans (not that one) to host the long-running car show, with Formula 1 driver Jenson Button rumored as a potential co-host. Bringing months of speculation to an end, Amazon Video announced today (July 30) that it has struck a deal with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - late of BBC Two's Top Gear - to front a new motoring series, one exclusive to Prime subscribers.

ITV, Hulu and Netflix (perhaps the market leader when it comes to online originals) were all reported to be bidding for the boys, but in the end, it was Amazon's VOD service that came out on top - and of course, this isn't the first time it's revived a dormant BBC format, with the drama series Ripper Street also benefiting from Amazon's deep pockets.

Although the cost of the deal hasn't been confirmed, the streaming service is believed to have made a "significant" investment in the trio to beat the likes of Netflix to the show.

Michael Schumacher, a retired Formula One Driver, is in critical condition following a skiing accident this past weekend.

Schumacher, 44, was placed into a medically-induced coma Monday after he fell and hit the right side of his head on a rock while skiing with his son Mick, 14. The injury occurred on Sunday morning at Meribel Resort in the French Alps.

Schumacher’s helmet helped him from being immediately killed. “His helmet did of course protect him at least partly,” said Jean-Francois Payen, the head anesthetician at Chu hospital. “Someone who had suffered a similar accident without a helmet would not have made it [to the hospital].”

Schumacher was conscious while en route to the hospital, but his condition worsened quickly and he was taken in for brain surgery when scans revealed internal bleeding and contusions. “We cannot predict the future for Michael Schumacher,” said Payen. “He is in a critical...

Recent reports from both the BBC and Sky Sports F1, suggest McLaren are considering replacing Sergio Perez with Kevin Magnussen for next season. As we discussed in an earlier article the driver market is still in relative flux and neither Jenson Button or Perez have been confirmed for the 2014 season. Despite official confirmation, however it is widely believed that Button has signed a contract for the coming season and will remain in place.

McLaren struggled throughout 2013 with a car that is battling in midfield but management at the team believe that Perez’s performance has been largely disappointing. This has led to speculation that he could be replaced.

It wouldn’t be the first time that McLaren have promoted a rookie to their full Formula 1 team. Lewis Hamilton came straight into the team without any prior F1 experience and was an immediate success.

Michibata, born to an Argentine father and Japanese mother, was very much the centre of attraction in the paddock at the Buddh Interntational Circuit (Bic).

Her connect with the Indian media and fans was instant as she chose to wear a traditional pink saree for the race Sunday.

The Spa Grand Prix is the longest track in the F1 calendar with a total length of 7km per lap. Spa is famous for it’s multiple overtaking spots and famous corners such as Eau Rouge and Blanchimot. I personally love the Spa circuit as it always provides an exciting race.

The qualifying this year was a wet affair with some discrepancies in the usual starting order. Both Marussias and Giedo van der Garde managed to get into Q2 because of excellent tyre choices in the wet weather. This meant that both Williams and Toro Roso drivers were out along with Caterham’s Charles Pic and Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez.
