Born in Bucharest, Romania, on July 17th 1969. She has a B.A. in English and Spanish, one in Audiovisual communication and a M.A. in Film. She started writing in 1992, after entering the Film And Theater Academy of Bucharest. The same year she also began her career as a translator from English. Her most recent translation is Kazuo Ishiguro's novel "Never let me go", highly acclaimed by critics and the public. She is also the translator of Sophie Kinsella's novels into Romanian (translating all her works except the first one). She first got the attention of the industry in 1993, when submitting a synopsis for a feature film to Lucian Pintilie. In 1998, she received a prize for developing a feature film from the National Centre of Cinematography. Between 1999 and 2001 she was the Executive Manager of Scenario, a MediaPro Pictures company, the first company dealing exclusively with the development of film and television concepts. In 2001 she wrote with Lia Bugnar the script "Cobai", soon sold to Filmex Romania, which won the CNC financing contest in 2003 and became the co-producton "Camera ascunsa". In 2001 she won a Trans-Europe Script Prize with Teodor Dobrin, for the scripts "Getting Together" and "Morgan ReCollection". In 2002 she won ex-aequo with Ileana Raducan the "Jean Negulescu" National Script Prize sponsored by HBO Romania for "El ritmo del Corazon". Between 2002 and 2003 she was one of the writers for the series "In familie"; she wrote 33 episodes. Between 2001 and 2005 she was selected to several European workshops, the most important being the Cannes workshop organized by the Association eQuinoxe To Be Continued, France. In 2005 she co-created the series project "La Urgenta", winner of the National Script Contest organized by the Romanian National Television.
