For every hero that ends up saving Christmas, there has to be at least one villain that aims to stand in its way; Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), The Grinch, Professor Hinkle from Frosty the Snowman, just to name a few. None of these villains or any others come close to the level of evil and disregard that Burgermeister Meisterburger has. He is the single most evil Christmas villain ever depicted for a variety of reasons, but mainly because he simply chooses to be evil and never accepts nor achieves any sort of redemption in the movie, contrary to the other villains who either have ulterior motives for what they do, or are eventually redeemed in some way.

Perhaps one of the classic examples of the power of peace and love can be seen within The Grinch’s character arc. He goes from a foul one to a lovable cheer meister. His heart grew three sizes in one night, but it took nearly 20 years for the live-action film to embrace the hearts of its viewers. Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas is now considered a modern holiday classic and is replayed and broadcast on a variety of networks during the Christmas season.

The film was released in 2000 and stars Jim Carrey as everyone’s favorite green creature of Whoville. Ron Howard directed the Christmas film, which featured large set pieces, colorful visual effects, and a narration from Sir Anthony Hopkins. While the film was a box office smash hit, becoming the highest-grossing movie of 2000, it was not well-liked by critics. It has a 49% score on Rotten Tomatoes...

A grand Hollywood tradition will kick off at 6 Pm on Sunday, as the 91st Hollywood Christmas Parade winds through the streets of the movie capital.

Sunday’s parade will be cohosted by actors Erik Estrada and Dean Cain, joined by Montel Williams, Laura McKenzie, and Elizabeth Stanton.

Pre-parade entertainment will include the Village People, pop-opera singer Anna Azerli, and The Grinch. Parade performers will include the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and California Springs Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Joining them are Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, dancer-singer Paula Abdul, singer Dwight Yoakum, radio host Kerri Kasem, pop duo Aly & Aj, and actors Chris Kattan, Craig Robinson, Ernie Hudson, Brandon Routh, Ming-Na Wen, Denise Richards and Tatyana Ali.

For many years, Christmas movies featured happy tales of bringing joy to the little ones. From the first version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in 1948 to the Rankin Bass reboot of the same story in 1964, the stories were all about Christmas cheer. Then, in 1966, How the Grinch Stole Christmas changed everything. The made-for-tv special was based on Dr. Seuss's book from 1957.

Dr. Seuss's children's book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a story that criticizes consumerism at Christmas. In the original story, the Grinch lives on the mountain by Whoville and hates everything about Christmas, so he sets out to destroy it. The only thing that stops him is a little girl who shows him the true Christmas spirit and helps his heart grow. It was a perfect story to adapt into a cartoon and brought in legions of fans with several adaptations of the children's story.

Graveyard of Empires Graphic Novel: “From Alexander the Great’s Macedonian army to Genghis Khan’s Mongol horde to the British Imperial machine of the nineteenth to the Soviet Union to the twenty-first century United States of America, no occupying force has ever been able to control Afghanistan — the very reason it’s known as the Graveyard of Empires. Mark Sable and Paul Azaceta drew upon that history in their Image Comics series Graveyard Of Empires, set in present-day Afghanistan, where American troops are caught in a seemingly unending conflict with the Taliban. Anthologies within our favorite genre are definitely trending upward, with V/H/S, The Abcs Of Death and other such fare making waves the past couple of years. We’ve just been sent the first stills from the upcoming horror anthology Sinister Visions. The stills come from the two segments “Mother Knows Best”, written by Garry Charles and directed by Kim Sønderholm and “My Undead Girlfriend” written by Henric Brandt, Rasmus Tirzitis and Stefan Bommelin while directed by Henric Brandt.

The full anthology is expected to be released in 2012 and will contain a total of 5, or if funding goes well possibly 6, horror stories. Besides the obvious horror overtones, the filmmaker are also trying to add a good portion of dark humor to the mix.

Anthology films are suddenly all the rage with The ABC's of Death and The Profane Exhibit both in production right now. And what better way to showcase a whole ass-load of talent all in one concise package? You can now add a new title to this growing list of films ... Sinister Vision.

We don't know very much about this one at all yet, but if they shoot movies as impressively as they choose titles, audiences are in for a treat. The attached images give a look into two of the five or possibly six stories that will make up the completed film. Check out your first looks at Mother Knows Best and My Undead Girlfriend.
