That’s what Hollywood A-lister Matt Damon said about a potential Rounders sequel—nearly 30 years after the first film’s release in 1998. On The Rich Eisen Show, he was asked whether any of his movies would get sequels in the future, and Rounders came out on top. Centering around Damon and Edward Norton’s journey through the world of high-stakes poker, it’s considered a cult classic by the card game’s enthusiasts. That’s why this demand for a sequel from cast, crew, and fans alike comes despite the fact that Rounders is actually considered to have underperformed at the box office. In fact, the sleeper hit only skyrocketed to fame amid the poker boom of the early 2000s.
“Because so much has happened in that poker world in the last 25 years, it would be fun to catch up with those guys,” Damon elaborated.

In a world where film actors are highly paid to characterize and technically bluff their way convincingly on camera, many performers, in their spare time, are also highly skilled, professional gamblers:
Charlie Sheen
According to Denise Richards, ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, her former husband had a particular fondness for sports betting. Richards openly claimed Sheen gambled every day, spending up to $200,000 a week on betting and casinos. There are probably lessons to be learned from Sheen's life extremes, and one of them would be, to be careful if you catch casino fever, and to never take your gambling as far as the actor has done on numerous occasions.
Tobey Maguire
"With great power comes great responsibility," says actor Tobey Maguire as 'Peter Parker' in director Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" (2002). Maguire also believes that with great opportunities comes great money, as the performer is also a big stakes tournament-winning, poker player.

“Listen, here’s the thing. If you can’t spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker.”
It’s one of the all-time great lines in poker films. It’s also one of the many hooks that has made Rounders perhaps the most iconic and influential poker film of all time.
Originally released two decades ago in what was a very different world for poker, Rounders starred Matt Damon, Edward Norton, Gretchen Mol, John Malkovich, John Turturro and Martin Landau. Written by David Levien and Brian Koppelman and directed by John Dahl, it follows a young Damon as he gets sucked back into the world of high stakes poker while trying to clear the debts of his less scrupulous friend Worm, played by Norton.

James Woods, who appeared in the movie Videodrome a very long time ago but who has since retired from acting, is well-known for his provocative, outrageous behavior online, but this week, the turmoil surrounding his antics has ratcheted up. After Weeds actress Elizabeth Perkins appeared to accuse Woods of sexual harassment, professional poker player Daniel Negreanu compared Woods to politician Roy Moore, who is currently being accused of inappropriate conduct with minors.
Negreanu was referring to an allegation by actress Amber Tamblyn, who says that Woods propositioned her when she was just 16 years old. The 70-year-old Woods denied the allegation, although he has a documented history of dating women who are barely out of their teens.
Woods lashed out at Negreanu on Twitter, where Woods has often made homophobic, Islamophobic and otherwise incendiary comments.

The game of poker changed in 2003 when Chris Moneymaker won the Wsop Main Event. A new generation of poker players dedicated themselves to poker tournaments and success at the tournament level is how most players are judged nowadays.

After birthing the critical mess that was 2004′s Torque, director Joseph Kahn decided to take a few years off and focus back on his music video directing career. Working with such artists as Muse, Eminem, Britney Spears, and the Wu-Tang Clan, many wondered if Kahn would ever rebound from Hollywood’s harsh backlash.
Fast forward to 2011, and Kahn exposed a self funded ace from his sleeve titled Detention. Taking the festival circuit by storm, Kahn’s energetic filmmaking started garnering audience awards and critical acclaim from those lucky enough to snag a ticket, and for good reason. Learning from the over developed B-Movie mistakes that plagued Torque, Joseph Kahn’s entry into horror comedy territory will this time be remembered for cheers, not jeers.
Let me try to describe Detention this way. Imagine if Scream had a baby with The Breakfast Club, that toddler grew up and mated with A Clockwork Orange,...

Matt Damon really likes poker. In fact, in the newly released trailer for "All In — The Poker Movie" Damon even says that "there is just something cool about being good at poker."
"All In — The Poker Movie" will tell the history of the poker, from its start in the underground clubs of NYC to becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Unfortunately, it became so much of a global fixation that the Us government had to shut down the three largest poker websites in the world.
The poker documentary will attempt to tell the definitive story of the rise, fall and rebirth of poker. Joining Damon in the documentary are Phil Hellmuth Jr, 2003 World Series of Poker winner Chris Moneymaker, Ira Glass, Frank Deford, Annie Duke, Kenny Rogers, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer and Daniel Negreanu.
"All In — The Poker Movie" hits theaters March 23. It’ll also be available on iTunes April 24.
