With a combined total of 37 nominations across broadcast and its syndication arm, CBS Media Ventures, CBS leads all nominees for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, which were announced on Thursday by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) – see full list of daytime program nominees.

On the network side, CBS received 25 nominations, led by “The Young and the Restless,” which received the most nominations overall for an individual program, while “The Bold and the Beautiful” received four nominations. The special “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter: An Entertainment Tonight Special” and the since-canceled daytime talk show, “The Talk,” each received just one nomination.

Among syndication programming, CBS Media Ventures garnered 12 nominations, led by “The Drew Barrymore Show” with nine, “Entertainment Tonight” with two, and “Hot Bench” with one nomination.

Although the full list of nominees are not expected to be released until tomorrow, July 10, at 12:00 p.m. Et/9:00 a.m. Pt, entertainment news shows “Entertainment Tonight,” “Access Hollywood,” “Extra” and “E! News” are revealing the nominees in the first eight categories for “The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” during their Wednesday, July 9 broadcasts.

Categories announced include Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Lifestyle Program, Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Instructional Series, Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, Outstanding Travel or Adventure Program, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Instructional/How-To Program.

In the Tuesday, March 11 episode of Beyond the Gates, Bill went on the offensive. He set up a press conference, which happened to coincide with Nicole’s local interview about her upcoming award. Thankfully, Nicole doesn’t like the spotlight because Bill’s hatchet job press conference inspired Dani to join the interview with her more humble version of events.

Dueling Press Opportunities

Bill (Timon Durrett) should have listened to Hayley (Marquita Goings). All they needed to do was leave for their honeymoon. They looked like the bigger people for dropping the attempted murder charges against Dani (Karla Mosley). Instead, he set up a press conference and proceeded to skewer Dani’s reputation.

However, his ploy didn’t work because simultaneously, on local TV, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), Vernon (Clifton Davis), and Anita (Tamara Tunie) were giving their own interview to a reporter, played by guest star Nischelle Turner, who co-hosts Entertainment Tonight with Kevin Frazier.

The results are in for the 62nd annual International Cinematographer's Guild's Publicists Awards, and we're thrilled to report that Collider Senior Producer Perri Nemiroff isn't coming home empty-handed. The host of the site's Ladies Night and Collider Forces series, among many other things, has won the Press Award in a race that featured Rotten Tomatoes's Jacqueline Coley, Variety's Angelique Jackson, Entertainment Tonight's Nischelle Turner, and Freelancer Kara Warneramong its nominees. She was honored at today's luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills alongside Publicist of the Year Award winner Rachel Roth and International Media winner John Nugent of Empire Magazine UK.

“Wicked” and “Agatha All Along” took top honors at the 62nd annual International Cinematographers Guild (Icg) Publicists Awards luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Friday.

The ceremony honors individual publicists and unit still photographers who further publicity campaigns for film, TV and entertainment journalists.

Variety’s senior entertainment reporter Angelique Jackson earned a nomination from Icg in the Press Award category.

According to the people over at TV Guide, it's been confirmed that CBS is not going to air the next, new episode 12 of The Neighborhood's current season 7 tonight, February 17, 2025. We're not sure why they're not airing it tonight, but we can tell you that this is just a one-week delay. According to CBS' official episode 12 press release, CBS does plan to finally air the new episode 12 next Monday night, February 24, 2025. During that time, it will air in its usual, 7 pm central standard time slot. So, certainly be on the lookout for episode 12 to hit the air next Monday night. In a post on Instagram, Procter & Gamble is touting its return to the world of soaps, proclaiming, “We invented the soap opera,” as it prepares for the launch of “Beyond the Gates,” the first brand new soap opera set to debut on a broadcast network in more than 25 years, since the launch of “Passions” in 1999, and the first-ever one-hour Black-centric daytime drama series.

“We’re returning to our soap opera roots to bring you ‘Beyond the Gates!’ the company says in the caption of its post, which is accompanied by a video message narrated by “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Kevin Frazier, and features a behind the scenes look at the taping of the new series. Additionally, the company updated its bio on Instagram to include the message, “We invented the soap opera.”

CBS and Paramount+ have launched the official websites for “Beyond the Gates,” the new daytime drama series premiering Monday, February 24.

Both websites will provide future opportunities for fans to watch full episodes of the daytime drama series when it premieres, including the five-part daytime special “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood.”

On the CBS.com page, the website currently provides at least two recently released videos, including the historic start of production preview and the first trailer for the series. The page also provides a synopsis of the series, and a related shows section which includes daytime shows “The Bold and the Beautiful” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and the new primetime drama, “Watson,” starring Morris Chestnut. The same content on CBS.com is also available through the CBS App.

At Paramount+ (paramountplus.com), the page provides all the same basic information as shown on CBS.

Fans have been waiting intently for the premiere of the first soap in 25 years, Beyond the Gates. With a powerhouse cast that includes Clifton Davis, Tamara Tunie, Maurice Johnson, and Jibre Hordges among several others, the show is poised to revitalize the genre and put soaps into a 21st century spin cycle. With the series premiere imminent, a new multi-part behind the scenes show will serve as a lead-in for the highly anticipated TV program.

The Curtain Will Be Pulled Back

Btg will debut on February 24 on CBS, but the week prior to that, a five-part special will air to shed some light on the making of this new daytime drama. According to Daytime Confidential, Entertainment Tonight has created the special, with the channel’s hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, along with Sheryl Underwood formerly of The Talk set to introduce it, which is titled Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood.

“Entertainment Tonight” co-host Nischelle Turner will be making a cameo appearance on “Beyond the Gates,” CBS announced on Tuesday.

Although details on who Turner would be playing on the soap opera were not released, including whether she’d be playing herself, or for how long, news of her appearance first came to light as the network shared plans to air “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood,” a five-part half-hour daytime special to air during the week of February 17-21, presented by the team at “Entertainment Tonight.”

The guild previously announced awards for field, unit still photography, and press awards, for which Variety’s senior entertainment reporter Angelique Jackson received a nomination.

The International Cinematographer’s Guild (Icg) has announced its first group of nominees for the 2025 annual Icg Publicists Awards.

The annual awards show “recognizes the achievements of the Icg’s publicist members, including unit publicists, individual publicists, and studio publicists, as well as unit still photographers,” according to the organization. Winners will be announced at a luncheon ceremony on Feb. 28, 2025 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The guild represents approximately 10,000 members who work on features films, TV, streaming, commercials, news broadcasts, documentaries, and more. Members include directors of photography, visual effects supervisors, camera operators, camera assistants, loaders, utilities, still photographers, digital imaging technicians, video controllers and publicists.

The Publicists Guild merged with the Icg in 2002, and its first Publicists Awards Luncheon was held in 1964.
