Rohit Jugraj Chauhan, also known as Rohit Jugraj, is a doctor of medicine by qualification and a martial arts expert who has carved a unique space in Indian cinema as a writer, director, and producer spanning both Hindi and Punjabi cinema.

He began his cinematic journey in the early 2000s as an assistant to noted filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ram Gopal Varma, before making his directorial debut in Bollywood with the Abhishek Bachchan starer James (2005). He also wrote the screenplay for Players (2012).

Since 2014, Jugraj has directed several acclaimed Punjabi films including Jatt James Bond (2014), Khido Khundi (2018), and Superstar (2008). He is best known for directing the Sardaarji franchise and Jatt James Bond, making him the only Punjabi director to have created blockbuster franchises with both Diljit Dosanjh and Gippy Grewal.

To date, he has directed a total of eight films-three in Hindi and five in Punjabi. In 2015-2016, he won both Best Director and Best Debut Director at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards, and he was also nominated for the National Awards in 2018.

In 2023, Jugraj expanded into digital storytelling with the Hindi web series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (2022) and the musical thriller Chamak (2023), which explores the darker realities of the Punjabi music industry. A second season of Chamak (2023) was also announced following its critical acclaim and audience success.

In addition to directing, he has produced and developed high-profile web content and is known for mentor-ship of emerging talent, combining strong creative instincts with commercial sensibility.
