Jake Busey has taken on aliens in the likes of The Predator and Starship Troopers, vampires in From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, and was even a rampaging ghost himself in The Frighteners. With credits like The Reckoning, The Lair, and Duchess, we’ve also seen Charlotte Kirk face off with a variety of threats. But Busey and Kirk are set to take on their biggest challenge yet in the upcoming horror comedy CATnip: feral killer cats.

Coming Soon reports that CATnip is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles next month. Written and directed by Nyle Cavazos Garcia, who is also producing the film with Rob Margolies and Keli Price, CATnip is described as “Gremlins for grown-ups.”

The company is planning a release early next year.

In Fidelity sees Parnell and Buono play a happily married New York City couple who, upon receiving life-changing news, decide to live a life of no regrets by experimenting with a “hall pass” for an open relationship. “After a tricky love triangle forms with their musician neighbor,” portrayed by Haysbert, it also soon draws in the couple’s flirtatious friend (Douglas). Despite evident passion from the film-makers, this personal transformation through sporting achievement story borders on parody

Traditionally, genre labels gave a broad sense of what kind of experience you might be in for, whether horror, comedy or action. In the streaming era, things are much more specific, with platforms such as Netflix offering ever more niche microgenres: “Cynical Comedies Featuring a Strong Female Lead” for example, or “Classic Feelgood Opposites-Attract Movies”. Bobcat Moretti feels tailor-made for this kind of categorisation. Here we have an “Inspirational Personal Transformation Following Tragic Life Event Sports Movie”, in which a man with multiple sclerosis takes up boxing as part of an effort to turn his life around after a horrific family tragedy.

The passion and commitment of the film-makers are evident. Starring as the eponymous Bobcat, Tim Realbuto also co-wrote the script (with director Rob Margolies) and lost 70kg (11st) during the course of making the film.

Different Duck Films founder Rob Margolies (She Wants Me) will direct, and produce alongside Lindsay Mushett (Immortal), Kristen Vaganos (I Am Lisa), and Nick Young (All You Can Eat).

Realbuto (Yes) penned the script with Margolies. Filming is set to begin this fall in LA and the production will span one year in order to give Realbuto time to lose the 100 pounds needed to portray the role.

Fox and Manning will also executive-produce alongside Sheila Legette (Choices). Louis Mustillo (Mike & Molly) and Sheria Irving (Twenties) are also among cast.

Exclusive: The 2019 Screamfest Horror Film Festival has taken a bite out of Eat, Brains, Love, setting the Rodman Flender-directed zombie romantic comedy as its opening-night film. The annual genre fest will run October 8-17 at the Tcl Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood.

Eat, Brains, Love, which world premiered last month at the UK’s Frighfest, is about Jake (Jake Cannavale) and his dream girl Amanda (Angelique Rivera). The good news is she finally knows his name — but the bad news is both contracted a mysterious sexually transmitted zombie virus and devoured the brains of half their senior class. A teen psychic (Sarah Yarkin) sent by the government’s top-secret Necrotic Control Division is sent to track them down. Patrick Fabian also stars.

Originally titled 2Br/1Ba, then retitled Roommate Wanted for its Us release, The Lodger - debuting here in the UK complete with cliched supermarket-friendly dark, brooding artwork which sells the film more as a straight up horror rather than the black comedy is really is (talk about mis-marketing) – is actually a loose remake of 2Ldk, the 2003 Japanese “film” (it only ran just over an hour) directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.

Interestingly, 2Ldk was actually made as part of a filmmmaking challenge called the “Duel Project”, which saw Tsutsumi go head to head with director Ryuhei Kitamura to make a film under strict criteria: The script can contain no more than 2-3 characters and must be shot, on a low budget, in seven days and can only take place in one setting. Meagan Good‘s upcoming comedy “You Have a Nice Flight” has landed Rob Margolies to direct, an individual familiar with the project confirmed to TheWrap. Margolies previously directed Josh Gad, Kristen Ruhlin and Hilary Duff in the 2012 romantic comedy “She Wants Me.” He is also the founder of production company, Different Duck Films. The film was produced and directed by Rob Margolies, along with producers Tenille Houston, Jon Smith and Kristen Ruhlin. Morris is repped with Gersh, while Vega and Grammer are repped with UTA.

Margolies’ last film, She Wants Me, starring Josh Gad, Hilary Duff, Kristen Ruhlin, Melonie Diaz and executive produced by Charlie Sheen was also distributed by Lionsgate on VOD.

After taking a handful of independent film festival awards with his debut film, Wherever You Are, writer-director Rob Margolies returns with She Wants Me, a romantic dramedy that stars Josh Gad in the lead, supported by Hilary Duff, Charlie Sheen, Kristen Ruhlin, Aaron Yoo, and the highly entertaining Wayne Knight (3rd Rock from the Sun).

Hollywoodnews.com: Charlie Sheen’s first role following his day-long hospital stay should be an easy one for him. He’s expected to play himself in a brief cameo for a film being directed by a close friend.

The project, more than likely, is Rob Margolies’ “She Wants Me,” an independent comedy starring Hilary Duff that’s filming in Los Angeles. Variety reported earlier this week that Sheen would cameo as himself in the film, while People writes this morning that Sheen was anxious to get back to work.

“Charlie will be working this week doing a cameo role, playing himself, in a small movie as a favor to a friend and has every intention of going back to work on ‘Two and a Half Men’ on Tuesday,” said his manager, Mark Burg.

The 45-year-old actor was hospitalized after police found him to be intoxicated and in need of medical treatment.

Hilary Duff has joined the cast of "She Wants Me". The actress and singer will play an A-list actress who the lead character Sam, portrayed by "The Rocker" star Josh Gad, finds himself in a quandary with when she wants a role written for his girlfriend Sammy (Kristen Ruhlin).

Charlie Sheen is set to have a cameo in the Rob Margolies-directed project, which has already begun filming in Los Angeles, Variety reports. The film is being produced by Mark and Christine Holder and Danny Roth, while Jeremy Schott is stepping in as executive producer.

Hilary, who is best known for teen movies "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" and "A Cinderella Story", is soon to appear in "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" alongside Thora Birch, seeing her in a departure from her usual projects.
