Venezuelan-born pianist, composer, producer, and orchestrator who began his music career in 2000 and has since become a four-time recipient of the prestigious BMI Film & TV Award for his work on Hulu's series 'East Los High', which has received six Emmy nominations, as well as for his work on NBC's/Telemundo Network.
Early in his career, Juan had the opportunity to work with Colombian artist Shakira as a Recording Engineer on her Multi-Platinum album 'Laundry Service' and with the band Bacilos as a keyboard player and arranger on their Double Grammy Award-winning album 'Caraluna'.
Residing in Los Angeles, California, Juan has established himself as a versatile and dynamic composer and songwriter for film and television. Recent work includes Hulu's 'East Los High' seasons 1 through 5 and the series 'Matador' for Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network, for which he received a nomination at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for best score. He also worked on 'El Señor de los Cielos' seasons 7 through 9 ('Lord of the Skies'), NBC/Telemundo's highest-rated series ever, following Netflix's top series 'La Reina del Sur' season 3 ('Queen of the South').
In 2018, Juan co-founded and became the creative director and CEO of Voodoo Tracks, a music library dedicated to producing high-quality traditional and contemporary Latin American music for TV, film, and documentaries. In 2023, Voodoo Tracks partnered with Audio Network, one of the world's leading production music libraries, becoming its top Latin music provider with a global clientele and distribution.
In 2023, Juan became the executive producer, music supervisor, and co-producer of the soundtrack for the film "La sombra del sol," which was nominated to represent his country, Venezuela,, as 'Best International Feature Film' at the 96th Academy Awards in 2024.
This year (2025) marks his 25th year of a productive and prolific career in the music industry.
Juan has a degree in Film Music Composition, Arranging, and Orchestration from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
