Dog Day Afternoon True Story & Ending Explained
Image
Dog Day Afternoon is a classic of crime movies and some viewers may not know that it's based on a real heist that took place only a few years earlier. Often cited as one of the best heist movies ever made, Dog Day Afternoon stars Al Pacino as Sonny Wortzik and John Cazale as Sal Naturile as two thieves who rob the First Brooklyn Savings Bank. Their plan goes awry when police suddenly show up and surround the place. Desperate, the pair take the bank employees hostage, leading to a long, tense standoff.

It's one of the movies that helped define Al Pacino's career and earned him his fourth Oscar and Golden Globe nomination. Premiering in September 1975, the film was an immediate success, garnering six Academy Award nominations and winning for Best Original Screenplay, as well as earning six Golden Globe nominations. The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 7 Review: the Catharsis We’ve Been Waiting For
Image
Warning: contains The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 7 spoilers.

Anybody concerned that June’s arrival on Canadian soil would sap all the drama out of The Handmaid’s Tale can stop worrying. ‘Home’ was dark, emotional, and complex. It proved that this series is not backing out of its responsibilities when it comes to the portrayal of trauma, nor is it unwilling to test the heroism of its lead character. To seriously test her heroism.

The episode closed on a blistering monologue in which June described Serena Waterford as a pathological, sociopathic, toxic, abusive monster driven by hatred and rage, underneath which is nothing but pure misery. She’s someone who’ll do anything not to feel that way, said June, anything to get what she wants – lie to you, hurt you, rape you. How did June come by such intense insight into Serena’s warped psychology? Partly because she’s suffered...

The Fugitive Kind
Marlon Brando is back in an adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ play Orpheus Descending. The cameraman is Boris Kaufman and the director is Sidney Lumet; Marlon’s a classic tomcat drifter in a dangerous parish, who attracts two women. Acting styles mesh, or mix without blending — Anna Magnani and Joanne Woodward each get opportunities to shine. It’s all poetics and symbolism — dig the snakeskin jacket! — in a fairly realistic setting.

The Hanging Tree
“To really live, you must almost die,” sings Marty Robbins, a lesson learned by Austrian import star Maria Schell. Delmer Daves’ best western puts virtue and faithfulness to the test: Gary Cooper’s distrustful, manipulative doctor hides his dark secrets and punishes those that admire and love him. Yet the ultimate reckoning demonstrates that sins can be forgiven and goodness rewarded, even in a corrupt and lawless community. That’s a fairy tale I still want to believe in.

Audrey Hepburn
On October 5, 1961, the Audrey Hepburn classic, Breakfast at Tiffany's, premiered in New York. The film would go on to earn 5 Oscar nominations at the 34th Academy Awards, winning two honors for its music. The Hollywood Reporter's original review is below:

An unusual love story, glamorous, sophisticated, with more than a touch of the bizarre. Breakfast at Tiffany's looks like a box office favorite. The Martin Jurow-Richard Shepherd production for Paramount has good names to add to its appeal, including an appealing performance by Audrey Hepburn. Blake Edwards directed.

The film bears only a slight ...
