The star of the films Scare Package and Scare Package 2: Rad Chad’s Revenge, Rad Chad Buckley himself (Jeremy King), is finally following in the footsteps of his Creature Feature heroes (and family members) and hosting his own horror movie series!

In the spirit of Joe Bob Briggs’ The Last Drive-In, Chad recommends horror short films – largely in the horror-comedy vein of the Scare Package anthologies’ segments – showing them in full and giving his reaction, unique awards to the films, and getting into additional shenanigans as he tries running a one-man YouTube show.

On the series’ debut installment, the owner and proprietor of Rad Chad’s Horror Emporium shares The Bloody Ballad Of Squirt Reynolds, a gnarly horror short film from director Anthony Cousins (Frogman), a Scare Package alum himself!

Episode 2, which releases this week, will see Chad recommending the blood-soaked horror short Invaders from director Jason Kupfer!

The relative newcomer, 24, scored the role of Prince Eric in upcoming live-action reimagining of The Little Mermaid opposite Halle Bailey‘s Ariel. Hauer-King will serve as the main love interest in the movie musical — a role former One Direction singer Harry Styles previously passed on.

As the undersea cast begins to fill out (Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem and Jacob Tremblay are all reportedly circling key roles in the film), Hauer-King’s casting marks a big-screen milestone for the actor, best known till now for his supporting work on TV.

This past summer saw the release of Koontz's feature-length directorial debut, Camera Obscura, and Koontz and his Paper Street Pictures production company are wasting no time moving forward on their next project, Scare Package, a horror comedy anthology that he's overseeing with Cameron Burns. In addition to directing his own segment, Koontz is bringing together some of the most exciting independent filmmakers in horror for Scare Package, and we recently caught up with Koontz for our latest Q&A feature to discuss assembling the creative team and subverting subgenres in his new anthology.
