Turning the focus on Arshad Warsi’s best performance, Subhash K Jha looks back at Sehar, which just turned 20 in this edition of his feature series This Day That Year.

Sehar is a small-big film about unlikely heroes. The police force , often shown to be brutal and self-serving, gets a commendable pat on the back from first-time director Kabeer Kaushik in this biographical account of principled police-man Ajay Kumar (Arshad Warsi) fighting “absolute power” emanating from extra-constitutional guns in Up.

Are we any better now, Tnm explores.Lakshmi PriyaMore than 40 years since its release, veteran Malayalam director Kg George’s 1980 film Mela has proved to be a milestone in many ways. Adapted to the screen from a book of the same name, written by circus artist and writer Sreedharan Champad, Mela tells the story of a 27-year-old dwarf person, who struggles with jealousy and insecurities after his marriage to a woman almost double his height.
