Suzie Diamond

Pfeiffer Pfriday
I recently got a Pfacebook message from one of her biggest pfans  and he asked me if I'd misplaced my love for the one and only Michelle Pfeiffer. "Of course not!" I wanted to shout only to immediately realize that though she's been far less elusive than usual: magazines, press conferences for Dark Shadows, fresh on DVD with New Year's Eve, at premieres -- I've said pfew words. This must be corrected.

This is my favorite 2012 pfoto of her, taken last month at Cinema Con where she was honored as a "Cinema Icon".

Catwoman black / Susie Diamond sexy.

Since I abandoned my Thursday "Burtonjuice" series which y'all didn't seem to be into, I'll redirect my eyeballs and pfantasize about Pfeiffer each Pfriday till People Like Us premieres... even if it's only a pfoto. Deal?

With Pfeiffer back on the red carpet I was expecting a parade of sleek black but...

Michelle Pfeiffer struggled to find herself sexy till age 31 - Realbollywood.com News
Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeff Bridges, and Beau Bridges in The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989)
Washington, Mar 26(Ani): Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed that she didn't see herself as a "sexual person" until she did the movie 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' at the age of 31.

The 53-year-old admitted that it was only after she portrayed "sexually appealing" Susie Diamond in the film that she decided to stop looking like a "bag lady".

"I struggled with my own image as a sexual person. That ended with a film, 'The Fabulous Baker Boys' in 1989, by which time I was 31," Contactmusic quoted her as saying in an interview with the Sun.

"Even two years before that, I would not have been able to play the part of the.

Your Fav' Eighties Ladies!
Over the past couple of months we've been holding "Best Character" polls for Oscar's Best Actress category history. We asked not who should win the Oscar but which characters own real estate in your memory. Previously you selected Miranda Priestley, Clarice Starling and other iconic bitches as your favorites from the Nineties and the Aughts.

But what of the 1980s? Here are the results. *asterisks indicate Oscar winning performances.

Three unarguably iconic characters: Sophie, Celie and Aurora

1981-1985

*Sophie Zawistowski (Meryl Streep) from Sophie's Choice Celie (Whoopi Goldberg) from The Color Purple  *Aurora Greenway (Shirley Maclaine) from Terms of Endearment Karen Silkwood (Meryl Streep) from Silkwood Victoria Grant (Julie Andrews) from Victor/Victoria

Diane Keaton's wondrous performance in Reds (1981) has not been forgotten.Runners Up: To complete the top ten you'd need (in descending order) a third Streep with Karen Blixen from Out of Africa, Debra Winger's Emma Greenway from Terms.

5 DVD Classics, A Giveaway
Revised Post Do you ever watch Turner Classic Movies 31 Days of Oscar? It's a fine way to catch up on Oscar favorites that you missed or that you'd love to revisit. Their month-long golden celebration is going on right now.

They've offered us a great giveaway prize here at The Film Experience, allowing me to choose 5 Oscar nominated movies on DVD for one lucky reader. Sometimes I take a hateful amount of time in sending out prizes myself but this time that procrastination problem is alleviated since TCM is running the contest. So I have to follow their rules -- which means Us entries only. There can be only one winner but two others will get a party-pack consolation prize.

To enter send me an email by Saturday Feb 20th with "5 dvds" in the subject line. Include your mailing address, full name and a gripe about a multiple nominee who has never won the prize,...

Come Join the Party!
Hello, Jose here to remind you all that it's Madonna's birthday!

The Queen of pop/ businesswoman/ kabbalist/ mother/ 90's tabloid fodder/ safe sex advocate/ sex advocate/ entrepeneur/ icon is celebrating her 51st birthday today (and with those arms!). But along with everything she's done, many people forget (on purpose mostly...) that she's also an actress/director. The notorious perfectionist has never been able to master the cinematic arts, even if she tries and tries and tries. But since it's her birthday we should acknowledge that not all she's done for the silver screen is bad and since we can't take a holiday to get into the groove with her, here's...

51 Reasons to Celebrate Madonna... in the Movies!

51. Daring to take on a role created by Katharine Hepburn...sort of in Who's That Girl.

50. Her endorsement of Michael Moore.

49. Setting a whole new clothing trend with Desperately Seeking Susan.

48. Her deep love for classic films.

Doll House and Dollhouse
I am obsessive by nature but somehow I never caught the collecting memorabilia bug. I have none and I rarely get excited about something unless it's super personal -- like the water bottle a friend of mine snatched after a Julianne Moore function. Her lips had touched it! I swear I did not ask my friend to do this -don't judge! -- so I have no idea why I'm suddenly all into the idea of owning one of a kind sculpted movie dolls or how long this sudden urge will last but...

How great are these Rosemary's Baby dolls?

They're made by sculptor/actress Alesia Newman-Breen. (Here's her blog) At this moment I feel like I would give up several gallons of plasma or perhaps donate my whole body to science to have one of Michelle Pfeiffer as Susie Diamond or Julianne Moore as Carol White in [safe] (That'd transfer so spookily well to doll form,...
