‘Black Adam’ Ad Agency Buddha Jones Signs Trailer Park’s Matt Brubaker & Promotes Bill Neil To Partner

Exclusive: Marketing veteran Matt Brubaker has exited Trailer Park after two decades to join Black Adam and Nope ad agency Buddha Jones, which has upped Bill Neil to Partner.

Brubaker joins the outfit as Head of Theatrical/Streaming following a lengthy Trailer Park stint during which he was creative director on campaigns for the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Tenet, Elvis and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

He will work alongside Head of TV/Streaming Joshua Rogers, Head of Games Scott Carson and Head of Social and Strategy Julie Bloomfield to oversee the company’s creative leadership.

Meanwhile, Neil becomes Partner following a 15-year Buddha Jones stint creating trailers for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Nope and The Wolf of Wall Street, amongst others. He broke through in 2003 helming the seminal Texas Chainsaw Massacre trailer.

Paramount Promotes Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin to Executive VP Roles for Nickelodeon

Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin have been promoted to executive vice presidents and co-heads of Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action Series and Film.

In their new roles, they will now oversee all scripted live-action Nickelodeon and Awesomeness series and movie content for Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The pair were formerly co-heads of Live-Action for Nickelodeon and Awesomeness.

In addition to their promotion, the pair jointly announced a book-driven slate of new projects including “Junie B. Jones,” “My Weird School,” “Hot British Boyfriend,” “The Babysitters Coven,” “Sloppy Firsts,” “This is What Happy Looks Like,” and a new live-action series, “Majorettes” (working title), based on an original BuzzFeed article by Frederick McKindra.

Nickelodeon’s Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin have been promoted to EVPs and Co-Heads, Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action Series and Films. The news was announced today by Brian Robbins, Paramount President & Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, and Chief Content Officer, Movies and Kids & Family, Paramount+.

Formerly Co-Heads of Live-Action for Nickelodeon and Awesomeness, both brands within Paramount Global, Phelan and Olin are now expanding their purview to oversee all scripted live-action Nickelodeon and Awesomeness series and movies for Nickelodeon and Paramount+, including YA content. They will continue to report to Robbins.

'Gravity' Wins Best in Show at the 15th Annual 'Golden Trailer Awards'

Gravity took top honors last night at the 15th Annual Golden Trailer Awards. 17 trophies were handed out live in Beverly Hills at the Saban theater, while a total of 75 different awards were bestowed upon the best trailers for movies, TV, and video games.

Gravity won Best in Show and Best Thriller for its Detached trailer, which you can watch here:

The “Detached” trailer for Alfonso Cuaron’s awards-season favorite Gravity floated away with the top honor at tonight’s Golden Trailer Awards. The pic scored Best of Show and scooped up three other nods including Best Drama Poster and thriller TV spot. Godzilla and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also scored four wins. Gravity distributor Warner Bros went into the 15th annual trophy show with a league-leading 51 nominations and came away with 15, the most for any studio. Universal (along with Focus) was second with nine wins, followed by Lionsgate with eight. Top trailer and creative vendors in the 2014 race included Ignition, whose work was honored in 14 different categories. Buddha Jones earned 7 awards, and Trailer Park was next with six. The judge panel included Frozen co-director Chris Buck, actor Adam Driver, Entourage creator Doug Ellin and castmember Debi Mazar, Raising Hope’s Garret Dillahunt, Divergent helmer Neil Burger, andSnow White And The Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty.

Barbara Park, a former class clown who channeled her irreverence into the million-selling mishaps of grade schooler Junie B. Jones, has died. She was 66. The author died Friday after a long battle with ovarian cancer, according to a statement released Sunday by Random House Books for Young Readers.
