Immortan Joe's son, Corpus Colossus, is notably absent from Furiosa due to the actor's untimely death in 2018. George Miller chose to honor Quentin Kenihan's memory by not recasting the role in the prequel film. Furiosa pays tribute to Quentin Kenihan in the end credits, along with other performers who contributed to the franchise.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga features many familiar faces from Mad Max: Fury Road, but one original character is still absent from the movie's story for a devastating reason. Since Furiosa: A Mad Max serves as a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, it was expected to include several settings and characters from the 2015 George Miller movie. While some of these returning characters, like the titular Furiosa and Immortan Joe, play prominent roles in the prequel film, others, like Organic Mechanic and Valkyrie, only make brief appearances.

As Dementus put it, hate is “one of the greatest forces of nature.” But he did miss just how closely hope can be tied to it – and George Miller has displayed this in a pretty incredible way, casting a bullied teen in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. If you remember, Quaden Bayles appeared in a heartbreaking viral video back in 2020, expressing how hurt and despondent he was over being teased for his dwarfism. But now you can see him as War Pup (master of the Bommy Knocker) in Furiosa, showing that hope should always win out over hate.
Alongside Quaden Bayles, George Miller also cast Sean Millis, a singer with Hunter’s Syndrome, in Furiosa. Millis, like far too many, was also bullied online for his looks, with rather disgusting comments hurled at him over his appearance. Fortunately, people like Miller continued to stand up for him, with even Furiosa...

George Miller's epilogue to Fury Road shows Immortan Joe's son attempting to corrupt one of the Five Wives. The moment confirms that one of the Wives is considering overthrowing Furiosa and becoming a new dictator. The comic series emphasizes how Mad Max's world is caught in a destructive cycle - a better future is possible but unlikely.
Despite its seemingly happy ending, 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road secretly set up a major new villain - one who could end up closing out Furiosa's personal trilogy within the franchise. Fury Road is packed with villains, as Immortan Joe's sprawling empire introduces the Bullet Farmer, the People Eater, the Prime Imperator, the Organic Mechanic, and more. However, the villain set up by the movie's conclusion is actually a hero when fans first meet them.

A few years back Mad Max and The Road Warrior director George Miller unleashed the fourth entry in the Max Rockatansky saga with Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as the mighty Imperator Furiosa. And today we have word from Miller himself that two Mad Max sequels are still in development, including a film centering on Charlize Theron's Furiosa.
Specifically, George Miller says about his planned Mad Max sequels that have been tentatively titled Wasteland and Furiosa.
"There are two stories, both involving Mad Max, and also a Furiosa story. It seems to be pretty clear that it's going to happen."
Nice! Now I don't know about you, but I firmly belong in the camp that screams Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the most excellent motion pictures to hit the big screen in decades. In fact, along with Joel and Ethan Coen...

Mipcom took place over a month ago, but its effects can still be felt – particularly by those who had never been to an international market. James Boyce, on behalf of Dog Money World, shares his first experience with Encore.
It was not just any other Sunday afternoon in Sydney. Our hearts beating with excitement at the prospect, ‘this time next week, we could be touching down in France for Mipcom’. Our decision was made, after months of working on our cross-media concept Crime Plays and a great response from a pitching panel, it seemed that this project would be the one that would take us to our first international market.
From the get-go we felt we were onto something good with Crime Plays, an immersive cross-platform experience that puts a crime world in the palm of your hands. Most aptly described it’s The Amazing Race meets Mafia Wars.
