Say Goodbye to ‘Downton Abbey’ With Beautiful New ‘Grand Finale’ Image [Exclusive]
Image
The doors to Downton Abbey are opening one last time — and this time, it’s for goodbye. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finaleofficially premieres in theatres on September 12. As part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event, we are pleased to accept an RSVP from Elizabeth McGovern's Cora and Laura Carmichael's Lady Edith Grantham as we exclusively debut a new image from the final installment in the long-running franchise.

After more than a decade of upstairs-downstairs drama, witty remarks, romantic entanglements, and historic milestones, it all comes down to this: one last gathering, one final bow. Set in the early 1930s, the film picks up as the Crawleys — and the loyal staff that make Downton tick — confront a new world changing rapidly around them. But if the trailer makes one thing clear, it’s that not everything has changed. The clink of silverware, the rustle of gowns, the warm glow...

Please Don’t Feed the Children (2025) Review
Image
Please Don’t Feed the Children is the chilling debut feature from Destry Allyn Spielberg, available now on Tubi. Love Horror attended the U.S. premiere in New York on June 26th.

After a virus believed to be spread by children devastates the country, a group of kids on the run become hostages of a strange woman with a deadly secret. As a first feature, this story is approachable and great for audiences who like to get their hearts racing, but usually don’t go further into the horror genre.

Zoe Colletti plays Mary, who becomes the unwilling leader of the orphaned group and ends up in a survival game of wits with Clara, played by Michelle Dockery. While members of the group are picked off in a cannibalistic mouse trap, Clara attempts to escape her trauma via Mary. Dockery has a great way of switching from a lonely woman who...

'Downton Abbey' Star Teases a Potential Prequel Series as 'The Gilded Age' Sparks Rumors
Image
Elizabeth McGovernis one of the finest actors to have graced the beloved television series turned box office blockbuster, Downton Abbey. As Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham, McGovern's strong yet utterly heartwarming presence wholly resonates with the mission statement of Julian Fellowes'period drama, and will do so one final time later this year in The Grand Finale, scheduled to premiere on September 12.

Ahead of the movie scheduled to be the last in the series, McGovern spoke to Deadline about her character's journey, her time as an actress, and, perhaps most intriguingly, what the future might look like for Downton Abbey. It is expected that the doors will close for good on the iconic countryside manor in The Grand Finale, but it will surely be all too tempting for higher-ups to find a way to turn Downton Abbey into its next money-spinning era. After being questioned if this will be the last in Downton Abbey's journey,...

Liam Neeson's Underrated 62% Rotten Tomatoes Masterpiece Lands on Streaming, for Free
Image
In an era in which streaming platforms keep raising their prices, having platforms that offer free movies and TV shows is increasingly important. It's even better when those platforms include titles that we've been dying to rewatch or have kept on our watchlists forever. This month, Tubi has brought one of Liam Neeson's most electrifying action thrillers to its catalog, and the overlooked gem is even better than Taken. Released in 2014, Non-Stop is now available to stream for free on the platform.

The story of Non-Stop is the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat. In it, Neeson plays Bill Marks, a former NYPD officer who became a U.S. Air Marshal. One of his most important flights of his career is a transatlantic one that goes from New York to London. The flight turns into a horror story when a terrorist announces that he...

25 Years Later, Mel Gibson's $215 Million War Movie Is a Streaming Hit
Image
One of the most well-known movies featuring Academy Award winner Mel Gibson has found its online audience, 25 years after enjoying a solid theatrical run. The acclaimed actor and director's epic war drama The Patriot is now a streaming hit on Paramount+.

Via FlixPatrol, The Patriot is in the Top 10 of Paramount+'s movie chart in the United States -- ranking sixth on the list. The historical film is sandwiched between films such as Extract and Mean Girls. Meanwhile, the streamer's chart is topped by the Jack Quaid-led action comedy Novocaine.

The Patriot was set in 18th-century South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. Gibson portrayed Benjamin Martin, an American colonist who fought in the French and Indian Wars, but opposed fighting against Great Britain. However, he was swept up in the Revolutionary War after his home life was disrupted and one of his sons was murdered by a ruthless British...

Mark Wahlberg's Instantly Forgettable 30% Rotten Thriller Is Quietly Climbing the Streaming Charts
Image
A recent flop on Mark Wahlberg's resume has taken off on streaming after struggling to impress critics and audiences during its theatrical run. The Lionsgate action thriller, Flight Risk, has been soaring on the Starz movie chart months after its initial release.

Per Flix Patrol, and at the time of writing, Flight Risk is ranked third on Starz's movie chart, outperforming notable films such as For the Love of Money and Expend4bles. The film trails the acclaimed horror movie, M3GAN, in second place, and the war film, Dirty Angels, in the number one spot.

Flight Risk is the latest Wahlberg film to hit its stride on streaming in 2025. Uncharted, another panned film featuring the actor and current Spider-Man franchise lead Tom Holland, peaked at number two on the Netflix movie chart in February. Additionally, his comedy drama, Instant Family, also featuring Superman's Isabela Merced, became a worldwide hit on Netflix in May.

Destry Allyn Spielberg's Horror Debut Shares Surprising Parallel With Her Father Steven Spielberg's Best Movies
Image
This year marks the 40th anniversary of The Goonies hitting the masses, a timeless kids-focused classic whose story was conceived by none other than Steven Spielberg. Three years earlier, his Oscar-winning masterpiece E.T. had been released, another family-friendly movie that remains one of the filmmaker's finest. Steven Spielberg would go on to helm a number of other children-centered movies — and now, his actress-turned-filmmaker daughter Destry Allyn Spielberg's debut film has just been released with a similar vibe.

The cleverly titled Please Don't Feed the Children is now available on Tubi, and MovieWeb recently caught up with Destry Allyn Spielberg to learn more about her chilling thriller, which stars Michelle Dockery in a uniquely villainous role. Interestingly, one element in the script that first appealed to Destry Allyn Spielberg is something her father has often explored in cinema.

"I would say the dynamic between the kids was really intriguing,...

‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ Trailer Highlights How Badly I Miss Maggie Smith in the Final Sequel
Image
I’m not ashamed to admit that I cry and get emotional over fictional characters and their stories. So, with that being said, I can openly admit that the Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale trailer made me emotional. But not just because it’s the last ride with the Crawley family. It’s because I really miss Maggie Smith. Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, wasn’t just a character—she was Downton.

With her sharp tongue, clever comebacks, and that regal stare, Maggie Smith brought a kind of magic to every single scene she was in. But now, she’s no longer with us, and that makes it hard for me to watch Downton Abbey’s final chapter. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited for the last installment, because Lady Mary is giving chaos, drama, and elegance. But much like the Earl of Grantham, even I found myself asking,...

Downton Abbey 3 Trailer Previews the Grand Finale of the Crawley Family's Story
Image
The time has come to say goodbye. The official trailer for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, the third and final entry in the big-screen continuation of the beloved PBS series, has arrived.

After 15 years, the story of the Crawleys and their staff will come to an end this September with Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. All the familiar faces are back in the official trailer for the historical drama threequel, which looks set to feature plenty of heartfelt (and heart-wrenching) moments. As is often the case when it comes to Michelle Dockery's Lady Mary Talbot, there will also be a dash of scandal, as the trailer reveals that the fan-favorite character has divorced her husband, Henry Talbot. This development shouldn't come as too much of a shock to Downton fans, given that Henry's portrayer, Matthew Goode, has noticeably been absent from the franchise since the 2019 film, with the...

Weekend Watch: Horror Movie of Steven Spielberg’s Daughter Now Streaming on Tubi
Image
2025 has been a prolific year for horror, both original and continuations of prestigious franchises from the 2000s. Adding to the list is up-and-coming filmmaker Destry Allyn Spielberg’s Please Don’t Feed the Children. Daughter of one of the most revered names in the realm of cinema, Steven Spielberg, Allyn Spielberg has embarked on carving her own path with her directorial debut, which offers a plague-fueled horror at the centre.

Having debuted at the 57th Sitges Film Festival last year, the movie has now exclusively premiered on the streaming service Tubi.

Destry Allyn Spielberg’s ‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’ marks streaming debut

With the 28 Years Later fever still running wild among fans, Destry Allyn Spielberg’s Please Don’t Feed the Children could be something right up your alley, if dystopian thrillers are your cup of tea. Starring Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery and Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito, the horror...

Please Don’t Feed the Children Review: Destry Spielberg’s Ambitious but Flawed Debut
Image
Destry Allyn Spielberg steps behind the camera for her directorial debut with “Please Don’t Feed the Children,” a post-apocalyptic horror thriller that arrives on Tubi with the weight of both expectation and skepticism. The film presents a world ravaged by a mysterious virus that transforms adults into cannibals while children remain largely asymptomatic carriers—a premise that immediately flips the traditional survivor narrative on its head.

Michelle Dockery leads the cast as Clara, a seemingly benevolent farmhouse dweller who offers shelter to a group of orphaned teenagers led by Mary (Zoe Colletti), with Giancarlo Esposito appearing as Sheriff Fritz in a smaller supporting role. At roughly 90 minutes, this streaming horror entry attempts to juggle multiple genre elements: dystopian sci-fi, psychological thriller, and coming-of-age drama.

Image
Giancarlo Esposito and Michelle Dockery are having a good old-fashioned stand-off in an exclusive to Collider sneak peek of Please Don’t Feed the Children. Slated for its Tubi premiere on Friday, June 27, the movie serves as Destry Allyn Spielberg’s feature-length directorial debut — and what a nail-biter to ride in on. Along the way, they find themselves seeking shelter in a mansion owned by a mysterious woman (Dockery). The Gilded Age creator isn't ruling out a crossover with Downton Abbey
Image
It’s no surprise that HBO’s The Gilded Age and Downton Abbey have a similar fanbase, so could the two period dramas ever have a crossover? Well, Julian Fellowes, the creator of both shows, thinks a plot in the upcoming season 3 could make it a possibility.

This season, two families come together in a way that could set up something totally different. “I kept hearing that Downton was going to be connected to the Gilded Age, but the story in Downton starts in 1912,” Fellowes shared with Deadline.

Fans and creators of the shows are both into the idea of a crossover but there is one issue holding it back. Well, the biggest issue is that both shows air on different networks. The Gilded Age is an HBO show and Downton Abbey airs on PBS in the United States.

“The being on different networks puts a problem in the path of that,...

Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson's 30% Rotten Tomatoes Thriller Has Found New Life on Streaming
Image
Flight Risk may not have had a smooth takeoff at the box office, but the Mark Wahlberg-led thriller is climbing the charts now – at least on streaming. The Lionsgate action flick, directed by Mel Gibson, is currently sitting at #2 on Starz, marking a surprising turnaround for a film that struggled to find its footing when it debuted in theaters.

Despite a promising cast – including Wahlberg as a psychotic pilot, Michelle Dockery as a no-nonsense Air Marshal, and Topher Grace as a nervous fugitive – Flight Risk barely made it past $42 million worldwide. With a critical score of just 30% on Rotten Tomatoes and box office returns that disappointed even modest projections, most had already written the film off as a mid-budget misfire. But streaming audiences seem to be giving it a second chance.

If the title didn’t already tip you off, this is a high-altitude pressure cooker. Wahlberg plays a...

'Please Don't Feed the Children' Trailer Proves the Spielberg Legacy Is in Good Hands
Image
It seems as if the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as the debut film by Destry Allyn Spielberg looks just as good as anything her father, Steven Spielberg, has ever made. Titled Please Don't Feed the Children, the psychological thriller blends horror and a bit of dark humor to deliver what promises to be one heck of a ride, and the best part of all is that you can watch it for free when it hits Tubi next week.

Starring Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery as a deranged mother, the first trailer for Please Don't Feed the Children was released today, and if it's any indication of what we can expect from the full movie, horror fans are definitely in for a treat. Dockery looks to be in fine form as a woman who's passed the point of no return, and kidnapped a group of children to do with as she pleases.

Tubi has revealed an official trailer for the indie horror film titled Please Don't Feed The Children, which will debut streaming directly (for free!) next week on Tubi. How Downton Abbey 3 Will Honor Maggie Smith's Violet Explained By Show Creator
Image
Downton Abbey's creator, Julian Fellowes, has explained howDownton Abbey: The Grand Finale will honor the late Dame Maggie Smith's beloved character, Violet Crawley. As the third (and possibly final) Downton Abbey movie, The Grand Finale will thrust the Crawleys and their wonderful downstairs staff into the 1930s. The 30s were a time of worldwide economic upheaval, and the Crawley family will undoubtedly be affected by the Great Depression, too. There's even a shot in The Grand Finale trailer of Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) saying what appears to be goodbye to Downton Abbey itself. Will they be forced to leave?

Whatever turbulence comes next, the Crawley family will have to face it without the late Dowager Countess of Grantham, Violet Crawley, who passed away at the end of the last Downton Abbey film, Downton Abbey: A New Era. Sadly, the legendary Dame Maggie Smith is no longer with us, making...

“I wouldn’t do it again”: Matthew Goode Gave Maggie Smith Her Best Day in ‘Downton Abbey’ That He Won’t Repeat Ever
Image
It’s rare to see a bond as quietly delightful as the one Matthew Goode and Maggie Smith share- two actors from different generations who crossed paths on the sanctified sets of Downton Abbey. While Goode was only seen in the final season of the show and the film, his short feature made quite the impact, particularly on Smith, who once told him he gave her the best day on set.

During a recent Deadline interview, Goode recalled a cheeky day on set with the cast of Downton Abbey in the countryside. What started as a little naughty indulgence turned to one of the best days for the entire cast, filled with mild mischief, unforgettable joy, and camaraderie.

How Matthew Goode gave Dame Maggie Smith her best day on set
