Official Sororal One-Sheet Debut and Soundtrack Release Details
Following May screenings of their giallo-inspired feature Sororal at the Fantaspoa Film Festival in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the team at Nakatomi Pictures announce the release of the film's soundtrack, marking the milestone with the unveiling of the official poster artwork.

From the Press Release:

In aspiring to produce Australia’s first neo-giallo thriller, writer-director Sam Barrett was aware from the outset that the score would be critical to successfully creating the surreal parallel universe in Sororal.

He put the challenge in front of composer Christopher de Groot.

“A lot has been said about the beautiful imagery in hallmark giallo films, but there is no over-estimating the importance of music in the genre. The best giallo scores can take you away to a strange dream world that is beautiful, erotic, and frightening, a world which Chris has definitely sculpted for Sororal,” says Barrett. “True, we used a dizzying array of references as a starting point,...

Dark Sister (2014)
Check Out Teaser from Australian Neo Giallo Horror Flick “Sororal”!
Dark Sister (2014)
You only hurt the ones you love! Thus reads the tagline from Sororal, a film from Nakatomi Pictures. Sororal is what many consider the first attempt at an Australian neo gaillo horror film, and is aiming for completion later this year before it reaches the festival circuit. Inspired by the Italian genre of crime and mystery in literature and film (or giallo), which became synonymous with the pulp of the past and with such luminaries as Alfred Hitchcock and Raymond Chandler, Sororal is trying to bring that type of thriller back to audiences around the world.

We have a new teaser, entitled “Visions,” below, as well as some information about its cast, crew and the plot. Sororal looks genuinely creepy cool, so we’ll be keeping tabs on this one as we learn more.

Summary Info:

Sororal neo giallo horror, 105 mins in post-production for completion in September 2012 $1 million budget shot on Red One in Perth,...

Xtrmntr – Short Film Review
The golden age of the revenge film has passed, but since the 70.s there.s been a steady resurging trend for more. It.s a popular subgenre, I believe because just about everyone can relate. Who hasn.t, at some point, had something occur in their life when they didn.t secretly desire some form of revenge?

Xtrmntr (2010) joins this growing list of revenge films, a 6½-minute short from writer Phil Jeng Kane, producer Annabelle Fouchard and director Andrew Millner. Shot with a Red One camera over three days in Perth, Australia, the highlight of the film is the production value.

Karl (Vito de Francesco) and Simon (Kazimir Sas) are professional exterminators, on a job setting poisoned gas bombs for a rat infestation. The two characters appear to be average, working-class blokes, but there.s something unspoken between the two men that.s about to reveal itself with devastating consequences.
