Ed Harris, Eva Longoria, and Michael Peña in Frontera (2014)
First Look at Ed Harris in Frontera
Ed Harris, Eva Longoria, and Michael Peña in Frontera (2014)
The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnolia Pictures announced today that they have acquired Us and Canadian rights to Frontera, starring Ed Harris (Snowpiercer, Pain & Gain, Phantom, Pollock, Apollo 13), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives, The Heartbreak Kid, The Sentinel), Michael Pe&#241a (American Hustle, End of Watch, The Lincoln Lawyer), Aden Young (Killer Elite) and Amy Madigan (Gone Baby Gone, Field of Dreams). The film was directed by Michael Berry, from a script he co-wrote with Juan Luis Moulinett III, and produced by Ocean Blue Entertainment and executive producer Eric Austin Williams.

In the vein of Traffic and Babel, Frontera is set in the dangerous area between the United States and Mexico. Simon Pegg in Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Simon Pegg and Greg Mottolla Talk Paul Blu-ray
Simon Pegg in Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Back in June, Universal Studios Home Entertainment invited a group of journalists to sit down and have dinner with actor/screenwriter Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola to discuss their wonderful comedy Paul, which hits shelves on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, August 9.

For those unfamiliar with Paul, the movie stars Simon Pegg and his longtime co-star/co-writer Nick Frost as Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings, a pair of British geeks who travel to America to visit San Diego Comic-Con along with a slew of extra-terrestrial hot spots across the country. Ironically enough, they come across an actual alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) as they set off on a hilarious journey to get Paul back home.

The concept for Paul actually started on the set of Shaun of the Dead, when Simon Pegg and Nick Frost wanted to make a movie in a better climate than the dreary London weather.

Simon Pegg in Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Simon Pegg Talks Paul 2, The World's End, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol and The Adventures of Tintin
Simon Pegg in Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola recently held a press dinner to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of their fantastic comedy Paul, which will hit the shelves on August 9. Simon Pegg also shed some light on a few of his other high-profile projects, such as Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, where he reprises his role of Benji Dunn from Mission: Impossible III. While he had a fairly small role in Mission: Impossible III, his role seems to be expanded in Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.

"I get on really well with J.J. (Abrams) and we'd always said if there was another Mission: Impossible, can Benji come back? It'd be fun for Benji to come back. I had two days on Mission: Impossible III. That was it. I did seven months on the fourth one so yeah, I go back."

Back in November, there was also talk that Jeremy Renner may...

Star Trek 2 Will Shoot This Fall Says Simon Pegg
Simon Pegg in Star Trek Beyond (2016)
This past Thursday, I was one of the lucky press members to have dinner with Simon Pegg and director Greg Mottola to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of their fantastic comedy Paul, which will hit the shelves on August 9. Most of our dinner conversation will be saved until we get closer to the release date, although Simon Pegg did speak about a number of other projects as well. While a specific production start date is not known Simon Pegg said that Star Trek 2 will start shooting sometime this fall.

"You do have to manage your time, but they can't tell you exactly, because they don't know. You just sort of say, 'Ok, I'm going to keep the fall free.' With a bit of luck, that will be for a reason."

Last week, we reported that Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright want to start writing The World's End,...

Inhale
The action starts fast and furious in Baltasar Kormákur’s drama about human trafficking. Santa Fe District Attorney Paul Stanton (a grayed yet macho Dermot Mulroney) packs his bags, along with thousands of dollars in cash. “Who knows how much a lung costs in Mexico?” he says to his wife Diane (Diane Kruger). Their daughter Chloe (Mia Stallard) needs a lung transplant. Now.

Structured for maximum dramatic impact, the action alternates between Paul’s quest south of the border — all he has is a name, Dr. Navarro, and a city, Juarez — and the events two months earlier leading up to his desperate search: After watching doctors pack up a healthy pair of lungs in a cooler and ship them off to Salt Lake City because his daughter’s not next in line for a transplant, he pursues a local politician (Sam Shepard) who mysteriously dropped off the organ waiting list...

The Spy Next Door (Lionsgate)
By Susan Granger - Jackie Chan is looking for a piece of the lucrative family market with this lame-brained comedy. He plays Bob Ho, a mild-mannered pen importer who moonlights as an undercover CIA agent. He.s just the kind of .honest. guy that his suburban single-mom neighbor Gillian (supermodel Amber Valleta) really wants in her life, but her three kids find him dull as dishwater.

So when Gilliam must leave town to care for a sick relative, boring Bob offers to watch over of her sullen, sarcastic teenage daughter Farren (Madeline Carroll), nerdy technophile son Ian (Will Shandley) and adorable four year-old Nora (Alina Foley) who loves to dress like a Princess, leaving the spy chores to his CIA colleagues (George Lopez, Billy Ray Cyrus) in the Albuquerque office.

Predictably, Bob proves to be totally incompetent around the house. But when Ian accidentally intercepts and downloads on his iPod...
