Mipcom 2023 Buzz Titles: ‘Concordia,’ ‘La Mesias’ and 17 More to Watch

Coming off another year marked by uncertainty and conflict, ordinary, unlikely heroes take center stage in a slew of new shows. While crime especially the Nordic-inspired kind is not going anywhere, and there are quite a few spectacles waiting around the corner, including Mipcom world premiere “Concordia,” intimate stories about families and friends butting heads but ultimately trying to come together continue to dominate the market stage. There are also more portrayals of strong, complicated women who dare to dream big today or in the past. The following is a list of some of the buzziest titles at Mipcom.

Buyers get animated for Dutch family features (exclusive)

Incredible Film and Skoop Media are enjoying a busy EFM.

Dutch outfit Incredible Film has boarded Tummy Tom, a new 2D hand-drawn animated feature produced by Bunny Bos, a legendary figure in Dutch family movies, through BosBros, and by Petra Goedings, at Phanta Animation.

The film is based on the character who first appeared in the US TV series Sesame Street. The aim is to build a franchise and produce four Tummy Tom features over the next four years.

Incredible has also sold comedy Wonderbread to Belgium’s Belga Filns, which is planning a French remake.

Amsterdam and Los Angeles- based sales outfit sells package of films and TV dramas.

Amsterdam and Los-Angeles based sales agent Skoop Media, formerly known as Dutch Features, has sold a package of drama series and feature films to Amazon Prime Video for the Netherlands and Belgium.

For the Netherlands, the deal includes two seasons of the Belgian streaming comedy F*** You Very Very Much directed by Bert Scholiers and Jonas Govaerts and produced by Caviar and Finnish streamer Eliisa Viihde’s upcoming mystery thriller series Evilside.

Also included are Andy Fehu’s Czech comedy horror Shoky & Morthy: Last Big Thing...
