Kelly Clarkson absolutely lost it on Monday’s episode of her talk show, literally jumping for joy when, at long last, she recognized one of her own songs.
Regular viewers know that in recent years — and at least twice while playing with Anne Hathaway — Clarkson has failed to recognize her own music. For instance, in 2022 while playing “Sing That Name That Tune,” she didn’t recognize “Since U Been Gone.” A year later, she and Hathaway were playing Pop Pop Quiz and Clarkson mistook her song “Stronger” for a different song.
Well on Monday’s episode, she had John Legend on to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his classic debut album “Get Lifted” and they played a game of “Sing That Name That Tune.” The first song had Legend and Clarkson singing the Jackson 5 hit “ABC,” and yes it was delightful.

Guardians of the Galaxy came out on Aug. 1, 2014, making it ten years old in 2024. The movie has stood the test of time incredibly well. When it arrived, it was considered a bit of a departure for the MCU, being it was a story about C-list Marvel characters who not many people had heard of prior to the movie's release.
Guardians of the Galaxy follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) as he becomes entangled in a quest to harness the power of an Infinity Stone. Along the way he meets Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Groot (Vin Diesel), characters who all have their own agendas or lack thereof. They find themselves forming an almost family-like bond, and gradually become one of the best teams in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The story of Stax records has long been smoothed over and sculpted into a neat bundle of Southern aphorism and marketing copy: The Memphis home of “Soul Man” and Shaft and the Staple Singers was the more authentic (insert adjective like “gritty” or “greasy” or “Southern-fried” here), counterpart to the pop-oriented Motown; a rare space of multiracial utopia in a segregated Sixties South; a locus, for Blacks in Memphis at the time, for the expressions and dreams of a better American future that lost its way in 1968 when those dreams...

For any hip-hop historian, a certain party on August 11, 1973 looms large. In a rec room at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, young Cindy Campbell threw a back-to-school jam with entertainment provided by her older brother, a Jamaican-born immigrant named Clive Campbell who’d renamed himself DJ Kool Herc. There, Herc put into action a new technique that would set the sonic template for hip hop — working not one but two turntables and playing two copies of the same record to extend the instrumental breaks. “One night I was watching the...

Joe Jackson -- the patriarch of the Jackson family -- has died ... TMZ has learned.
Family sources tell TMZ, Joe passed away at 3:30 Am Wednesday in L.A. Joe was hospitalized in June with terminal cancer. His family had been flocking to his bedside since. His wife, Katherine, had been at his bedside as were some of Joe's children and grandchildren. Joe had been battling health problems for some time now.
He was hospitalized back in 2016 after coming down with a high fever. But, he bounced back not long after and was seen partying in Vegas. His health was also fragile after a stroke and 3 heart attacks back in 2015. Doctors implanted a pacemaker.
Joe may have been the most successful parent managing his children in the history of music. He, with a little help from Diana Ross, engineered the careers of The Jackson 5, and then Michael and Janet Jackson as solo artists. The elder Jackson took a lot of heat from Michael and his siblings for abusing parenting and management practices, including physical brutality. Joe copped to it but, far from apologizing ... he said his methods made his kids successful and kept them out of jail. Michael's dad stood by him during his molestation trial. After Michael's death, Joe was criticized for trying to make money off his son's memory. Joe had 10 kids with Katherine, his wife of more than 60 years. The 2 did not live together and had a strained relationship for the last years of his life, but they frequently interacted. Joe was 89.

We've known for quite some time that the Guardians of the Galaxy will all appear in Avengers: Infinity War, but after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hit theaters this summer, a new question about the Guardians' involvement surfaced. During one of the five post-credit scenes in Guardians 2, fans got their first look at Teen Groot, when Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) came into his room and started complaining that he hadn't cleaned it yet, as Teen Groot continued to play video games, as teens are known to do. Director James Gunn has confirmed that fans will be seeing Teen Groot in Avengers: Infinity War.
While it still hasn't been released to the public quite yet, the Infinity War Comic-Con footage, which was also shown at the D23 Expo, featured the Guardians and what looked like the same Teen Groot from the Guardians 2 post-credit scene. Cinema Blend spoke with James Gunn, who...

On Tuesday's America's Got Talent, the show paid tribute to Brandon Rogers, who died in a car accident on June 11, after already having filmed his audition.
Agt explained that, at the request of Rogers' family, they were honoring the 29-year-old singer's memory by sharing his audition.
Rogers, who was a doctor of family medicine, was interviewed before his performance, and opened up about his ideal life. "If I could find a way to combine being a doctor and medicine with singing, that would be a dream come true," he shared.
In his audition, Rogers performed a soulful, touching cover of Stevie Wonder's 1982 classic "Ribbon in the Sky," that had Mel B singing along from the judges' table.
Watch: 'America's Got Talent' Contestant Brandon Rogers Dead at 29
The performance earned Rogers a standing ovation from the entire auditorium, and the powerful response brought tears of joy to the singer's eyes.

Few things can render Simon Cowell almost speechless but Christian Guardino almost did that last night on America's Got Talent (2.5/10). The NBC competition series topped a pretty sleepy Tuesday but the audition of the once blind teen and his version of the Jackson 5's “Who's Lovin You” owned the show – admittedly flabbergasting Cowell and earning a standing ovation from the other judges and the audience. With Fox entirely in encores, ABC just having Downward Dog (0.7/3)…...

America's Got Talent's Howie Mandel Gives Formerly Blind Singer Christian Guardino the Golden Buzzer
The Golden Buzzers keep on coming on America's Got Talent. On the Tuesday, June 13 show, 16-year-old Christian Guardino took to the stage and sang The Jackson 5's "Who's Lovin' You." Judge Howie Mandel gave the teenager the Golden Buzzer treatment, sending him straight through to the live rounds. "Thank you so much," Guardino said after receiving a standing ovation from Mandel, Simon Cowell, Mel B. and Heidi Klum. "I mean, what just happened?!" Mel said. Mandel asked the singer, who was overcome by emotion, if he could make one wish, what would it be? "Right this second? Probably the Golden Buzzer," Guardino said. "Well, your wish just...

This season of America's Got Talent just keeps getting more and more magical!
On Tuesday's all-new episode, the auditions continued with even more incredible acts and heartwarming performances, including astounding singers, some bizarrely hilarious dancing acts and two magicians who seemingly have legitimate supernatural powers.
Tony and Jordan are identical twins who have changed the game when it comes to illusion. Their routine is confounding and astounding in equal measure, and when the pair start pulling solid objects out of thin air (and a giant TV screen), it's downright epic.
Watch: 7 Mind-Blowing Performances From 'America's Got Talent' Season 12 Premiere
As judge Simon Cowell said, their act is already tailor-made for the Las Vegas strip, and it's going to be amazing to see how the dynamic duo up the ante as the season progresses.

As much as I love Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm still upset that Disney replaced The Twilight Zone-themed ride Tower of Terror with Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission Breakout!. An official photo recently surfaced that you can see above, and Disney recently invited some journalists to take a "hard hat" tour of the new attraction.

As cool as director James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy is, that movie wouldn't kick nearly as much ass without the stellar soundtrack that accompanies it. Don't get me wrong, I love Gamora, Star-Lord and the rest of Marvel's a-holes as much as you do, but it was the groovy tunes of The Runaways, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, The Jackson 5, Blue Swede and 10cc that put it over the... Even for a film teeming with weird and wonderful figures, Groot was always considered to be one of the more unusual characters populating Guardians of the Galaxy. But by the time the credits rolled on James Gunn’s franchise-starter, and Vin Diesel’s tree-like being sacrificed himself to protect Star-Lord and the rest of the gang, Groot arguably cemented his status as a bona fide fan-favorite – and kicking off his regenerative process by dancing to Jackson 5 only drove that point home.
Still in the midst of his regeneration, Groot is little more than a tiny sprout in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – a creative decision that proved somewhat contentious, though James Gunn has since clarified that Baby Groot is not designed to solely drive merchandise. Ever since fans saw Baby Groot dancing to The Jackson 5 song "ABC" at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, fans simply couldn't get enough of this diminutive and adorable character. While we will see Baby Groot return once more in this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Marvel announced today that Baby Groot will get his very own comic book, entitled I Am Groot. The debut issue's comic cover was revealed today, along with more details from writer Christopher Hastings.
When the Guardians of the Galaxy get caught in a wormhole, a smaller-than-normal Groot is separated billions of light-years away from the team. Falling to a planet below, Groot discovers he is on an entirely alien and unknown world full of strange creatures and societies. Seriously underdeveloped and with nobody who can understand him, Groot will need to make the journey to the center of this world...

Next in the installment of "obvious news finally being confirmed by important people", we can say that the Guardians of The Galaxy will be in Infinity War. The writers for Captain America: Civil War, and soon Infinity War, were interviewed by Nerdist in which the had a discussion on whether or not any of the powerful cosmic heroes would show up in some capacity in Infinity War. The writers then playfully made a comment on how both of Thanos' children showed up in Guardians Of The Galaxy, and that we should "do the math." Well, I don't know what more someone would need to finally have this news confirmed. Maybe the Russo's should tattoo "Gotg in Infinity War" on their forehead or something.
This info is also cool because we have an even broader mental image of the scope that these movies will have. This isn't going to be a personal film ala Civil War,...

[CUSTOM_PLAYER_BRIGHTCOVE "4842493958001"] Jackson Five star Tito Jackson has paid an emotional tribute to his "brother" David Gest, who died suddenly in London on Tuesday. "David was more like a brother to the family," Jackson told Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain Wednesday. "He was a lot of fun. Always joyful. Always the jokester. David shared some good times with us. We enjoyed David very much." Gest was discovered in his room at the Four Seasons Hotel in London just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Scotland Yard released a statement shortly afterwards describing his death as "unexplained" but "non-suspicious at this stage." Full...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn shared a rough thumbnail sketch of a scene he shot earlier today to his Twitter page. The image features the always cute Groot as he struggles to hold onto what appears to be some kind of lizard-like creature.
Towards the end of the first movie, Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) sacrificed himself to keep his friends from being obliterated. The protective cocoon he enveloped the rest of team in protected them from the impact when the ship went down, but poor Groot wasn’t quite so lucky. His pal Rocket kept a sapling, however, and during the mid-credits scene we discovered that “baby Groot” was regrowing nicely, and annoying Drax with an adorable Jackson 5 dance routine.

Earlier today, we showed you the first photos from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, shared by writer-director James Gunn himself. The photos feature the director rehearsing with stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista and the director's brother Sean Gunn, who plays the on-set version of Rocket Raccoon. Chris Pratt also took to his Instagram page earlier today, to showcase his now-iconic Sony Walkman, which has the cassette tape of Awesome Mix Vol. 2. Here's what the actor had to say to his social media followers, revealing how "ecstatic" he is to be back on set.
"Feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am. Ok I'll try. I'm ecstatic. I'm bursting with joy. I'm overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration. I just used an online thesaurus for these words.

One of the most memorable moments of last year's blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy came at the very end, where Baby Groot was seen dancing to Jackson 5's classic "I Want You Back," while Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) cleans his massive blades. The scene also created one of the biggest questions for the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as fans wondered how big or small Vin Diesel's Groot will be in this follow-up. While promoting The Last Witch Hunter with IGN, Vin Diesel teased that he wants to see a "gigantic Groot" in this superhero follow-up.
"I've talked to James Gunn about that. I can't give it away but I would love to see gigantic Groot. I'd love to throw him into a forest and see how much mass that he consumes after devouring all the trees. Imagine throwing him into Central Park in New York City.

It was probably never really in doubt, but director James Gunn has confirmed that Vin Diesel will return to give life to monosyllabic sentient tree alien Groot in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel, which is currently titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
To be fair, there was a small chance Groot wouldn’t return for Volume 2 – or at least, not the same Groot from the first film. Towards the end, the noble creature sacrifices himself to save his friends in that tear-jerking (shut up… you know you cried too!) “we are Groot” scene. His pal Rocket saves a sapling though, and just before the credits rolled, we see a bouncing baby Groot dancing to the Jackson 5.

Tony Stark's hypercool presence is a welcome one - and it's neat that Ross's drink is Gamma green - but Marvel never followed up on this tag in future films and eventually had to make a special short to explain it. Incidentally, William Hurt will be back for Captain America: Civil War next year, where hopefully he won't punch any plot holes into the script.
