On a night filled with laughter, heartfelt tributes, and electrifying performances, the 2025 BET Awards proved that honoring Black excellence transcends the trophies themselves.
Dubbed "Culture’s Biggest Night," the event offered a dazzling celebration of creativity and achievement. Rather than focusing on the presentation of awards, the nearly five-hour telecast prioritized entertainment, featuring a packed lineup of powerhouse performances, comedy, and emotional tributes. Highlighting the evening were special honors for the BET Ultimate Icon Award recipients: Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg. Their remarkable contributions to music, film, and culture took center stage in a show dedicated to legacy and artistry.
Host Kevin Hart kicked off the ceremony with a 10-minute monologue, poking fun at podcasts, stage names, and Kanye West. "He says he's out front and he's waiting for someone to invite him in," the comedian joked before warning the audience, "Don't do it! We all saw the movie Sinners.

The first day of Coachella wasn’t for the faint-hearted this year: The heat soared to a solid 101 degrees in the desert, but that didn’t stop festival-goers – or the performers — from showing any less enthusiasm. Even as the sun beat down relentlessly, fans showed up at every stage in droves, getting riled up by earlier acts in the day, including Tyla, Ravyn Lenae, and Three 6 Mafia, and counting down for a slew of nighttime showstoppers like Benson Boone, Missy Elliott, Lisa, and of course, headliner Lady Gaga. Tonight on “The Voice,” the Playoffs continued with performances from Team Reba McEntire and Team Snoop Dogg. In this round of the competition, each coach must narrow down their team of five to only two artists with the help of a “playoff advisor.” Helping out Snoop and his team is Olympian Simone Biles and assisting Reba with her team is country artist Lainey Wilson. Rapper Mgk advised Gwen Stefani in “The Playoffs Premiere” on Nov. 19. Performances from Team Michael Buble will be showcased in the Nov. 26 episode.
In Team Reba rehearsals, Lainey felt honored to be able to hone the skills of other artists in the same way that she feels she was taught by her own mentors like Reba. She thought Adam Bohanan “had a lot of soul” and told him he can “get sexy on ’em” earlier in the song because it took too long for her to...

It has been two years since Timbaland and Swizz Beatz last hosted music battles as part of their popular series Verzuz. The indefinite hiatus followed the settlement in 2022 of a lawsuit against the social media app Triller. Triller acquired the rap battle show in 2021 and returned ownership to the two mega-producers earlier this year. Now, they are preparing for Verzuz to make its return, this time in partnership with a different social media app: Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter).

Seconds after Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson entered the holding room where presenters and performers at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala were to take this picture, someone became starstruck — but who that was might surprise you.
“It’s Jelly Roll!” Wilson shouted excitedly as she saw the Grammy-nominated singer-rapper. But the feeling was mutual, as Jelly Roll later murmured, if only to himself, about the surrealness of the moment. He was standing in proximity to Hanks and Wilson as Dionne Warwick sat nearby and members of Green Day were hanging out while everyone waited for one of music’s greatest architects — Davis himself — to arrive.
The interaction was just one of several “pinch-me” moments as the likes of The Isley Brothers, Maluma, Josh Groban, Lainey Wilson and many more came together to take a snapshot with Davis and commemorate the night of amazing music that was to come at the legendary party,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 10, Episode 12 of “The Masked Singer,” “Soundtrack to My Life,” which aired Dec. 13 on Fox.
Oh, oh, here he comes. Watch out boy, he’ll chew you up! Oh, oh, here he comes. John Oates is an Anteater.

“I can’t really talk about it,” Oates told Variety last week. “I don’t really want to talk about it. It...
