India’s Zee Studios has set a late November theatrical release for “Dhadak 2,” a romance film challenging societal norms.

The film is a sequel to 2016 hit “Dhadak,” that was itself a Hindi remake of the Marathi film “Sairat.” The 2016 title starred Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, as well as the late Sridevi.

The new film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in lead roles. Plot details were scarce, though Zee teased it with the logline: [the film] “explores barriers of class and status stitched in the minds of societies, underscoring a narrative of love that can never be fulfilled. Or can it?”

Production is by Zee Studios, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, and Cloud 9 Pictures and is slated for release on Nov. 22, 2024, a slot that falls neatly between Diwali and Christmas.

The two Batman-related themes—“I Am Batman” and “Sounds About Right, Bruce”—are the latest music to be released from the upcoming The Flash (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), which features the music of celebrated two-time Grammy- and BAFTA-nominated composer Benjamin Wallfisch. Ryan Verniere has been named Senior Vice President of Story at Agbo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Co-Presidents of Story at Agbo announced on Wednesday.

Verniere will be part of the senior team developing original film and television IP, ushering in a new era of fantasy and science fiction storytelling with the Russo’s internal creative team led by Angela Russo-Otstot, Chief Creative Officer at Agbo.

“Ryan is an innovative worldbuilder of the highest order. He has both a deep well of esoteric knowledge and the storytelling skills to transform it into popular entertainment,” Markus and McFeely said in a statement. “His facility with mythology, character, and genre will make him an incredibly valuable addition to Agbo and all we’re trying to create.”

Warner Bros. has released another look at “The Flash,” dropping new footage of the DC Comics film ahead of the Super Bowl.

After first appearing in a cameo role way back in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” Miller is suited up as the Scarlet Speedster once again — this time for their own solo movie. The new trailer shows Miller’s Barry Allen crashing into the multiverse and running into another version of himself and not one, but two, Batmen — played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton. There’s also a return of Michael Shannon’s General Zod from “Man of Steel” and the debut of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl.

The cast also includes Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Antje Traue and Maribel Verdú.

The trailer marks the first major promotional material for the film since a series of controversies surrounding Miller.

Agbo, an independent studio founded by “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo, has tapped “The Flash” producer Michael Disco as its new president of film.

Disco, who has over two decades of film producing experience, will oversee the creative direction and business strategy of Agbo’s film department as it works to “foster dynamic partnerships and innovative storytelling.”
