All 3 of The White Lotus seasons ranked from worst to best
Image
The White Lotus, created by Mike White, is the hottest show in the world right now! The third season of the hit HBO series just came to an end in April 2025, four years after the series premiered in the summer of 2021.

The White Lotus is already coming back for season 4, and probably more seasons, honestly. There doesn't seem to be anything stopping this show from becoming an all-time great drama-comedy series.

To celebrate the greatness of this show, I ranked all three seasons of The White Lotus so far. Honestly, there is no "worst" season of this show. They are all good, but there's definitely one show that stands apart from the rest.

3. The White Lotus season 1 Jolene Purdy, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy in The White Lotus Season 1, Episode 1 - Photograph by Mario Perez/HBO | HBO Premiere date: July 11, 2021Cast: Murray Bartlett, Sydney Sweeney, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge,...

Alexandra Daddario Responds To Those Who Call Her “A Bad Actress”: “I Have An Emmy Nomination”
Image
After more than a decade on screen, Alexandra Daddario has a message for her critics.

The Emmy Award nominee recently addressed the “most outrageous rumor” about herself “that won’t go away” despite her nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Season 1 of HBO‘s The White Lotus.

“That I’m a bad actress. I’m not a bad actress,” she told Elle during their drinking game ‘Thirst Trap’. “I’ve just done some projects that don’t showcase me in the way that I should be showcased. Okay? Director and the writing is everything, and sometime’s I’m lit poorly, but I’m not a bad actress. I got an Emmy nomination. How do you think I did that?”

Following her Emmy-nominated performance as newlywed journalist Rachel Patton in the show’s 2021 Hawaii-set debut season, Daddario previously told Deadline that The White Lotus creator Mike White has ideas for...

Dominic Monaghan Says "Lost" Costar Evangeline Lilly Was His Only Real Heartbreak
Image
Image Source: Getty / Mario Perez

"Lost" costars Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly broke up in 2007 after three years of dating. In an Aug. 31 interview with Anna Faris on her podcast "Unqualified," Monaghan, 45, revealed that the split was his biggest heartbreak. "I think I've only really got my heart broken once in my life," he said. "I was dating an actress on 'Lost' called Evangeline Lilly, who, you know, has gone on to have a name all of her own. And yeah, you know, I don't really know how she would explain the narrative, but from my point of view, it was probably the first time in my life that I was just kind of all in."

The pair's relationship ended when one of Monaghan's friends claimed Lilly was cheating on him. "I mean, to say I was devastated is an understatement, you know. I had to be told by a third party like,...

‘The White Lotus’ Finale: The Curse of the Pineapple Suite
Image
This post contains spoilers for the season finale of The White Lotus, which is available now on HBO and HBO Max.

Last Monday, fans of The White Lotus were greeted with exciting news: HBO and Mike White had agreed to make another season, albeit one set at a new locale within the fictional White Lotus resort chain, and with different characters. This is not surprising. White designed the show to be largely pandemic-proof, since the cast and crew can take over a real resort together and create their own bubble for production.

Nancy Allen, Peter Weller, Miguel Ferrer, and Kurtwood Smith in RoboCop (1987)
Going into season 6, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter had warned fans that it would be the most violent one yet. And he wasn’t joking. That means the FX drama’s special effects supervisor, Chris Nelson, was a busy man. Back in October, we asked Nelson to take us inside two particularly graphic scenes in the deadly episode “Los Fantasmas.” Revisit the conversation below. You may never look at watermelon the same way again.

'Sons of Anarchy': How they pulled off the gloriously gory special effects of 'Los Fantasmas'

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched the “Los Fantasmas” episode of Sons of Anarchy (read our full recap), stop now. We asked the FX drama’s special effects supervisor Chris Nelson to take us inside its two most graphic scenes. You may never look at watermelon the same way again.

In the episode, directed by Peter Weller, the Da (Cch Pounder) had it leaked to the press that the weapon used by the 11-year-old shooter may trace back to the Byz Lats and Sons of Anarchy. As Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and the Samcro boys met with the Byz Lats...

ABC Announces Fall Schedule – Get A Peek At What’s Coming
Terry O'Quinn as Gavin Doran in "666 Park Avenue" (ABC/Andrew Eccles)

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.

Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.

It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

Cinequest Turns 21
By Annlee Ellingson

(March 2011)

Nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Cinequest Film Festival has merged film and technology for two decades. The event was an early adopter of digital capture and exhibition as well as distribution across all platforms from the big screen to DVD to TV to the Internet to handheld devices.

The tradition continues in the festival’s 21st edition with a program that includes 3-D programming and panels, including the world premiere of the stereo version of “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” two 3-D shorts programs and seminars on the art and science of stereo filmmaking.

Meanwhile, Cinequest is screening 173 films this year from 41 countries — 75 of which are U.S., North American or world premieres. Audiences are expected to near 100,000, with more than 700 artists slated to attend.

This evening’s opening-night film is “Passione,” John Turturro’s musical love poem to the city of Naples.

The Michael Emerson Interview: On Acting, Ben Linus, and Lost
Photo by Mario Perez—© 2010 American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. Michael Emerson, a stage-trained actor, joined the cast of Lost in 2006, playing a mysterious fellow who claimed his name was Henry Gale. As fans know, this man was actually Benjamin Linus, the leader of the Others. He would prove to be the show’s main villain, with the possible exception of the Smoke Monster. The cast of Lost is a mongrel unit, its actors having come out of stand-up comedy, sitcoms, movies, the stage, and modeling. Along with fellow veteran thespian Terry O’Quinn, who plays John Locke, Emerson is one of the regular cast members who has theater in his blood. Whenever Emerson and O’Quinn play a scene together, they have a great time rolling around in the dialogue and dragging out the dramatic beats. Both men have won Emmies for their Lost work, with O’Quinn beating out Emerson...

CBS Radically Shuffles Schedule, Moves ‘Survivor,’ ‘Big Bang Theory’
Chicago – CBS announced their fall schedule today. While fans of canceled “Accidentally on Purpose,” “Cold Case,” “Gary Unmarried,” “Numb3rs,” “The Ghost Whisperer,” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine” may disagree, the big TV news of the week is that several of the top network’s biggest shows are moving. “Survivor” jumps to Wednesday nights, “The Big Bang Theory” moves to Thursdays, “CSI: NY” slides to Fridays, and “CSI: Miami” now goes down on Sundays.

As far as on-the-bubble renewals are concerned, CBS saved “Rules of Engagement” and “Medium”. The rest of their renewals were pretty obvious choices as the network continues to air many of the biggest hits on TV including the #1 drama (“NCIS”), #1 comedy (“Two and a Half Men”), #1 new series (“Undercover Boss”), #1 news magazine (“60 Minutes”), #1 new drama (“NCIS: Los Angeles”), and #1 scripted series for the 18-49 and 25-54 demos (“The Big Bang Theory”).

Of course, all of those shows are returning,...

'Lost' exclusive: Maggie Grace, a.k.a. Shannon, returns this season
Maggie Grace
Maggie Grace, who played Shannon on Lost, will return to the ABC drama later this season, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed to EW.com. "We're really excited about having her back on the show," says Cuse, "and we have a good story for her." The producers would not specify how many episodes she would appear in. An original cast member, Grace exited the show in season 2 when her character -- the spoiled stepsister of Boone -- was killed off, though she did resurface in a season 3 episode. Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros, and Rebecca Mader are among the...

We are hours away from the arrival of the third episode of Lost’s last season, a Kate-centric affair entitled “What Kate Does.” That’s right, you heard me: third episode. Even though this is only week two, last week’s two-hour premiere counted as two episodes. Which means that after tonight, we will already be finished with 1/6th of the season. Holy Smokey! And it feels like the season only began last week. Wait...what?! My mind is still reeling -- in a good way -- from what we got out of "La X." The premiere inspired a wide range of reactions — mostly positive,...

Ratings: Lost Premieres Strong, Idol Wins Night
Lost</i> | Photo Credits: Mario Perez/ABC" style="margin:0 5px 5px" />

Lost's sixth and final season premiere was up 12 percent over last year's opener, but American Idol continued to dominate Tuesday nights.

Read our Lost and American Idol recaps

Lost's two-hour premiere averaged 12.1 million viewers and dominated the adults-18-to-49 demographic in both timeslots. It was the ABC's best two-hour performance since November 2007. ABC kicked off the night with a Lost clip show, which pulled in a decent 10 million viewers.

Fox dominated at 8 o'clock, however, as American Idol's Denver auditions drew 24.4 million viewers...

Confused by the 'Lost' premiere? Never fear! Damon and Carlton explain a few things about the start of Season 6 (Spoilers Ahead)

Lost fans who have now seen the premiere can read ahead for some explanation from Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. (Comments are likely to be full of spoilers also, you've been warned again.) Once upon a time in Germany, a very smart and spiritual man tried to answer a very tricky and troubling question. In a world created by an allegedly benevolent and omnipotent God, why the heck is there suffering and evil? In the world of philosophy,...

'State of the Union' will not interfere with 'Lost' premiere; we can all breathe again

If yesterday's terror alert about President (not Workman) Barack Obama's State of the Union address potentially conflicting with Feb. 2's Lost premiere had you freaked out like Charlie on a plane, rest easy! No State of the Union will mess with our enjoyment of a three-hour State of the Island. The White House still doesn't know when the Sotu will happen, but the Internet whined hard enough that it definitely won't be that night. "I assume it's a big deal at ABC," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters today, hopefully with a piercing Ben-like stare and a slight waver in his voice.

Could the State of the Union bump the 'Lost' premiere? Noooooo!

Might the State of the Union address bump Lost's season premiere? That's the fear coursing through the veins of every Lostie today. President Obama hasn't set a date yet for the address, which typically occurs the last week of January. (Since 2000, only one SotU has been in February.) According to the Washington Post, though, "Conventional wisdom around the TV industry is that the White House is buying time in hopes of having a health-care reform package done before the speech." It's crappy enough that the U.S. has the 45th-worst infant mortality rate and health care costs have skyrocketed...

Emilie de Ravin in Lost (2004)
Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Lost,' 'House, 'Grey's,' 'NCIS,' 'Glee,' and more!
Emilie de Ravin in Lost (2004)
Question: Is Emilie de Ravin going to be back on Lost for the whole season or just a few episodes? And will we get to see what happened to her? —Jared

Ausiello: The answer to both of your questions is a resounding yeppers. Better prepare yourself though. My Lost mole says season 6 will showcase "a version of Claire we've never seen before — a Rousseau-esque version." We'll be in need of a Rousseau fix since the real version will be MIA. According to a Lost insider, the French Lady's portrayer, Mira Furlan, turned down the show's request to return for the final season due to a "prior overseas commitment." Anyone know how you say "big bag-o-nuts" in français?...
