The talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd has been cleared in more than 95 percent of the U.S. The nationally syndicated daytime weekday show airs on the Fox Television Stations, as well as the Nexstar, Sinclair, Hearst, Gray and Scripps broadcast groups.

Sherri ranks second this season among all syndicated talkers among women 25-54, up from third place in its freshman year. It has already garnered four Daytime Emmy nominations (Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host among them), as well as five NAACP Image Awards and a People’s Choice Award nod.

As Sherri Shepherd‘s Sherri gears up for its final episodes of its debut season, the syndicated daytime talk show has announced it will return for Season 2 in fall 2023. Season 1 will come to a close on Friday, June 16. Sherri Season 2 will kick off on Monday, September 18. The series is a product of Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, which today also announced that Sherri producer Fernita Wynn has been promoted to executive producer and showrunner. Joelle Dawson-Calia has also been upped to executive producer, with Siobhan Schanda and Dan Fitzpatrick being upped to co-executive producers. They’ve worked with Shepherd and producing partner Jawn Murray since the show launched in fall 2022. Shephard and Murray also serve as executive producers. Fox Television Stations recently renewed Sherri — the No. 1 new nationally syndicated daytime talker from Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, according to Lionsgate — for two years through the 2024-25 season.

Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, “Sherri,” is shaking up its executive ranks, setting a new senior producing team ahead of its second season.

The inaugural season of the top-rated freshman show carried over the production staff from “The Wendy Williams Show,” which was replaced in its time slot on the Fox stations by “Sherri” when Williams’ show ended in 2022. Now, Shepherd’s show has parted ways with some of Williams’ top producers, who helped launch “Sherri,” which has been renewed through 2025.

“Sherri” hails from Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, the same company that was behind “The Wendy Williams Show” for its 13-year run.

Sherri Shepherd’s “Sherri” has elevated Fernita Wynn to showrunner and EP ahead of the daytime talk show’s sophomore season.

Additionally, Joelle Dawson-Calia has also been promoted to executive producer as Siobhan Schanda and Dan Fitzpatrick become co-executive producers. Prior to the role shifts, Wynn and Dawson-Calia, served as co-executive producers while Schanda and Fitzpatrick assumed the roles of senior supervising producer and supervising producer, respectively.

Wynn, Dawson-Calia, Schanda and Fitzpatrick, all of whom have worked on “Sherri” since its fall 2022 launch, will work alongside Shepherd and her producing partner Jawn Murray, who both serve as executive producers for the show.

The news comes as Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury prepares to wrap up its debut season of “Sherri” on Friday, June 16, before the nationally syndicated talk show returns for its second installment on Monday, September 18.

Longtime “The Wendy Williams Show” executive producers David Perle and Suzanne Bass were given the boot this week with the end of Season 1 of “Sherri.” The decision to fire the two EPs was made by Shepherd, who wanted “fresh energy” behind the scenes, according to reports. Debmar-Mercury, which produces the show, will announce a new EP for the second season of “Sherri” to serve alongside Shepherd’s handpicked EP, Jawn Murray.

“Executive producer David Perler and co-executive producer Suzanne Bass have been integral to Debmar-Mercury’s success in daytime syndication for many years and have helped launch ‘Sherri,’” a Debmar-Mercury said in a statement.
