Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is begging President Donald Trump to reconsider the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (Fema) denial of an emergency disaster declaration to aid in the recovery from a series of destructive tornadoes and storms that ravaged the red state in March.

Sanders, a former White House press secretary to Trump, wrote a lengthy letter last week to her ex-boss detailing the damage caused by the storms and begging him reconsider Fema’s denial.

“The severe storms and tornadoes that occurred on March 14 and 15, 2025, produced catastrophic impacts across the state.

Donald Trump refused a request for federal disaster relief funds from Washington Gov. Jay Inslee in 2020 after wildfires tore through the eastern portion of the states, Politico’s E&e News reports.

The dispute between the former president and Democratic governor adds yet another entry to Trump’s record of injecting partisan politics into disaster response efforts — all while he attempts to accuse President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of intentionally withholding aid from Republican areas affected by hurricanes in the southeastern United States.

Just hours after Watchmen boss Damon Lindelof wrote a guest column for Deadline calling for the 81-year-old incumbent to bow out of the 2024 election after a truly terrible debate performance last week, Netflix’s co-founder Reed Hastings is publicly advocating Potus walk away.

“Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” the deep pocket donor to both Biden’s 2020 and 2024 campaigns said Friday, The Netflix board chair’s correspondence was first reported by the New York Times. California Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out today at what he called “Perhaps one of the great disinformation networks in America…One America News” for spreading “a lot of misinformation” about Covid. He did not stop there.

“I’m not just referring to Newsmax or the primetime propaganda lineup at Fox News and all of their pundits that safely have been boosted, fully vaxxed that continue to promote a lot of misinformation. Forgive me for being so pointed and candid. People are quite literally losing their lives.”

The governor went on to offer an example.

“There was a tragic example of that….A state trooper in Washington state quit, and quit because he just couldn’t take it anymore and lost his life because of those propaganda networks, because of what was being stated and spread.”

John Oliver opened Sunday’s “Last Week Tonight” by ripping police officers who refuse to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. These cops are quitting their jobs in embarrassingly dramatic ways in a misguided protest against doing the right thing. One Washington state trooper recorded a video of himself in his patrol car signing off for the last time and finished by saying “[Governor] Jay Inslee can kiss my ass,” then dropping his walkie-talkie.
