The upcoming Spider-Man spin-off series Silk: Spider Society has reportedly let go of its entire writing team.

TheAnkler has reported that Silk: Spider Society is undergoing significant changes, with the entire writers' room of the TV series being dropped except the showrunner and one co-executive producer. The creative overhaul comes as the series, the first set in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, prepares for development. Nicolas Cage may be reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir in a live-action TV series.

The Ankler has reported on the status of multiple live-action co-productions from Marvel and Sony in the works at Amazon. This included an update on Spider-Man Noir, and it was reported that "Nicolas Cage is in serious talks to take on the lead role in the series, which will be set in 1930s New York City." Also stated was that Sony declined to comment on the report.

The Spider-Man Noir series was first announced in February 2023. At the time, it was reported by Variety that the new series would follow an "older, grizzled" version of Spider-Man that would be set in its own universe.

Highly awaited Sony Pictures’ Madame Web starring Dakota Johnson based on the Marvel character of the same name was recently released. The fourth movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe was directed by S.J. Clarkson and also starred Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Adam Scott and more. The movie follows Cassie Webb who is forced to confront her past and at the same time try to save three young women from Ezekiel Sims.

The movie was released on 14th February 2024 and has received negative reviews from the critics as well as the audience compared to what the team had expected. Madame Web in its early reviews was dubbed as the ‘worst comic book movie’ yet according to Forbes and has only managed to have a 13% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Kc Global Embarks On Scripted Series ‘ Jonesy’

Kc Global Media, which operates a string of channels across Asia including Axn, anime channel Animax, South Korea’s One and Japanese entertainment channel Gem, has unveiled its first script development of a sci-fi live action series, “Jonesy.” The show is a sci-fi fantasy thriller action-comedy series set in the year 2029, with eight episodes of 15-20 minutes each. Production will be with Singapore-based production agency, Monochromatic Pictures, while development is supported through the Capability Partnership Programme (Cpp) operated by the country’s Infocomm Media Development Authority. The show sees an internet crazy shut-in man driven to extremes by violent weather systems which carry with them supernatural beasts intent on devouring humankind. With his imaginary friend, the man learns to navigate the new world alone, confront his fears, battle colorful foes, and become humanity’s new hope when he kills one of the monsters during a livestream.

Tyler Mitchell’s philosophy has always been “run to love”.

So when Film Victoria called him in early 2019 expressing admiration for the inaugural Impact accelerator program he ran with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer in the US, it was enough to plant the seed for an Australian version of the initiative.

“If someone loves what you are doing, you should embrace that,” he told If.

“We started talking and between Film Victoria, Screen Australia, and the states, there was tremendous support and a real partnership, not just financially, but with the mission we have.”

It’s a collaboration that will continue this year when Impact Australia returns in person following an inaugural virtual program in 2020.

Delivered in conjunction with Gentle Giant Media Group, Impact Australia 2 will pair local creators with leading screenwriters, or ‘shapers’, who over eight weeks will help them craft their project and prepare them for pitch day in front of buyers.

Impact Australia is inviting applications for the second iteration of its screenwriter accelerator program, which will take place in-person in Melbourne after being held virtually last year.

Delivered in conjunction with Gentle Giant Media Group, Impact Australia 2 will pair local creators with leading screenwriters, or ‘shapers’, who over eight weeks will help them craft their project and prepare them for pitch day in front of buyers.

This year’s iteration will be held on the Victorian College of the Arts’ (Vca) Southbank campus at the University of Melbourne.

Supported by Gentle Giant Media Group and Screen Australia, the inaugural eight-week accelerator program for creative storytellers from across Australia was originally slated to be held in Melbourne.

The eight-week initiative, run in collaboration with Gentle Giant Media Group and Screen Australia, was originally slated to take place in Melbourne but will now pivot to a virtual form due to ongoing coronavirus disruption.

A total of 14 creators will receive online mentorship ahead of a pitch day, which is aiming to take place physically in the fall, with the ultimate goal of taking the projects, which are primarily TV but include two features, to market.

The CW has released a clip from tomorrow night’s episode of The Flash, and it features Dr. Harrison Wells trying to convince Barry Allen, Cisco, and Iris West that the best possible solution to the titular hero no longer having his speed (he was forced to give it to Zoom in order to save Wally West’s life) is to recreate the accident which gave him his abilities.

It looks like Barry is going to take some convincing, but we already know from the promo for next week’s instalment that The Flash ends up saying yes after realizing it’s the only way to save Caitlin.

"It was just fun for us," said "The Flash" producer Andrew Kreisberg about the 'King Shark' cameo.

"Obviously we can't afford to do an entire 'King Shark' episode so the idea was that he was one of the minions of 'Zoom', and just the latest in the line. 

"Which does mean that there is a King Shark on 'Earth-1'."

Recently, CW delivered the new,official synopsis/spoilers for their upcoming "The Flash" episode 4 of season 2. Well, we all saw this coming thanks to that promo! Jax Jackson (not "Jay" as previously reported) will indeed be the new half of Firestorm, and where this leaves Ronnie - who I would guess is stuck on Earth-2 - and Jason Rusch remains to be seen. This week on The Flash, Harrison Wells is still holding Eddie Thawne prisoner. Iris knows a secret, but doesn’t know how to tell Barry the truth. Meanwhile, a bank-robber is causing a serious headache for the police, but there is something off about him.

A Gorilla Grodd episode has been on the wish-list since the pilot, where a broken cage read ‘Grodd.’ Was this simply a little poke at fans, or actual foreshadowing of things to come? At the time, it honestly felt like wishful thinking, but here we are, at an episode where Flash fights a giant telepathic gorilla in the sewers.
