5 K-Dramas To Watch If You Loved Weak Hero Class 2! (Photo Credit – Prime Video/Netflix)
Back in school, we often witnessed students getting bullied by a set of superiors. Despite constant awareness around the world, bullying is still an issue in several schools. Unfortunately, many of these bullying incidents also go unnoticed as they happen in the quiet corners of the classrooms. Nobody cares or interferes in those moments, and the victims face all the troubles and leave with deep wounds not only on their bodies but also on their minds. Korean dramas have long been trying to showcase the hidden reality that often happens before us, but many remain oblivious to it.
These dramas not only focus on the victims’ pain but also show how they stand up against it, culminating in all their power and strength. These dramas portray the journey of the victims of school bullying and how...

While on the surface a film ostensibly focused on a burgeoning supernatural mystery surrounding an ominous yoga studio and the need to uncover it, there’s far more going on in Yun Jae-yeon‘s follow-up to the solid-if-by-the-book “Wishing Stairs”. Still retaining the same sense of atmosphere and theatrics, she adds a fantastic critique of beauty and physical aesthetics in Korean society for her second, and thus far final, directorial effort “Yoga Hakwon.”
Trying to stay competitive at work, TV presenter Hyo-jeong (Kim Yoo-jin) becomes jealous of the attention new co-host Seon-hwa (Lee Yeong-jin) receives from her studio bosses due to her youth and beauty as a former pageant contestant. After talking with boyfriend Dong-hoon (Choi Daniel), Hyo-jung decides to follow a rigorous yoga training class held at Na-ni’s (Cha Soo Yeon) resort with other participants Sung Yeon-joo (Park Han-byeol), Lee Bo-ra (Hwang Seung-eon), Seo In-soon (Jo Eun-ji), and...

The following contains spoilers for The Recruit Season 2, now streaming on Netflix. It also contains a mention of extreme violence towards women.
In The Recruit Season 2, Noah Centineo's Owen Hendricks finds his back to the wall yet again. He has to figure out how to crack the new conspiracy at play that once more incriminates America into a nasty political scheme. Owen discovers his country inadvertently helped seed a cryptocurrency out into the world. It has allowed the United States and their former partner, South Korea, to spy on their own citizens in the name of domestic safety. However, it speaks to the nations playing god.
These events result in Owen using select members of his CIA team and the man blackmailing him (Tee Yoo's Jang Kyun) to recover the latter's wife, Nan Hee.

At the end of The Recruit season 2 episode 3, Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) leaves the scene of a murder in Jang Kyun’s (Teo Yoo) car. Well, The Recruit season 2 episode 4, “A.T.N.W.H.Y.P.A.B.H.,” begins immediately after. Owen speeds through the streets of Seoul and calls Janus (Kristian Bruun), who is not into Owen going rogue.
Owen explains the situation and what he’s doing. He’s on his way to Jang Kyun’s apartment to find the Dead Man’s Switch. Janus warns him about how bad this idea is. If he gets caught, Owen is dead dead dead.
Owen searches the apartment and takes lots of pictures, but Jang Kyun obviously follows him. They get into a huge fight, but eventually, they talk it out like adults. In the aftermath, Jang Kyun makes one final plea to Owen for help. He admits...

The Recruit season 2 just premiered on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 30. I binge-watched all six episodes of the shorter second season (season 1 was eight episodes!), shared the season 2 ending, and speculated about what could be next for Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) in season 3.
First, I have to give some props to Alexi Hawley, the writers, the cast, and the crew for pulling off an incredible second season. There are a lot of spy shows on TV, but most of the shows aren't as well-made as this one. This story moves at a break-neck pace. Logistically, it must be a massive challenge to put this season together when the show is filmed in so many locations with so many big action sequences. It's a really, really good Netflix show!

Owen gets stuck on a plane headed for the Middle East at the end of The Recruit season 2 episode 2, and we see the immediate fallout of that occurence in the next episode.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Season 2 of the Netflix series The Recruit.
Like a number of streaming series whose production was delayed by the Hollywood strikes, Netflix’s The Recruit is finally making a return after a two-year break. Season 2 picked up where the Season 1 finale of the series, starring Noah Centineo as rookie CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks, left off.
Abducted by his former asset Max’s (Laura Haddock), daughter Nichka (Maddie Hasson), Owen watched Nichka shoot her mom dead before she almost did the same to him. He was saved by CIA operative Dawn (Angel Parker) and her team only to barely escape being killed by her over his knowledge of her fake assets scheme. The two reached a truce and made a pact of mutual destruction, which Dawn soon broke, spending the season trying to kill Owen as well as Lester who also discovered her secret.

The Recruit season 2’s ending centers around Owen and his friends (new and old), saving the graymailer’s wife, Nan Hee. [Spoiler Alert] As usual, Owen’s own agency decided to write him off the moment they heard about his suicide mission on Russian soil. In Vladivostok, where Nan Hee has been held captive, Owen is willing to risk his own life to save her. Now, Owen did discuss with the agency that he should be cut loose as a rogue agent if the mission goes south, so the agency’s already got the paperwork ready. This means that Owen and his friends have been by themselves all along with no cavalry coming for them. Ever since Owen joined the agency, he’s questioned his own integrity, saving Jang Kyun and his wife will be the only way he can feel at ease, and not like a “bad person.” Throughout the show,...

The Recruit season 2 on Netflix is finally back after a two-year break between seasons. You have to hand it to Alexi Hawley and the writers. They do not mess around at all when jumping into the action in The Recruit season 2 episode 1, “Y.N.A.H.Y.A.L.”
Remember, at the end of season 1, Max (Laura Haddock) was shot by Karolina, also known as Marta, also known as Nichka (Maddie Hasson). We don’t know if Max is alive or dead coming out of season 1, but we find out very quickly.
Max dies in The Recruit season 2
The season begins with Nichka/Karolina beating the hell out of Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) and trying to figure out who he is and what he’s doing. He gives up the information quickly. Owen tries to warn her that she needs to keep him alive because he’s a CIA lawyer...

Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) has no idea how many times he gets disavowed by the American government in The Recruit’s Season 2 finale. “Isn’t that crazy? He doesn’t know — he’s just doing his thing,” Centineo tells Tudum.
And, despite all odds, Owen’s plan ultimately works out in the final minutes of Episode 6. The finale takes The Recruit’s heroes to Vladivostok, Russia, a town so dangerous in the series, the US government wants no part in the trip. But, that’s where Nan Hee (Sanghee Lee) — pregnant wife of Nis agent and Season 2 graymailer Jang Kyun (Teo Yoo) — is being held. So Owen, Jang Kyun, Lester (Colton Dunn), and Owen’s love interest Yoo Jin (Shin Do-hyun) commandeer a boat and head into enemy waters to save her.
Ultimately, Owen manages to free Nan Hee (and an abducted Jang Kyun) from the clutches of Russian intelligence.

It's kind of ironic that the realization came by watching something as far from the concept of femininity as Kwak Kyung-Taek's 친구 - 우리들의 전설 (Friend - Our Legend) is, but maybe that's another proof of how much depth and meaning his first ever TV drama had. That is, in the midst of what you'd expect to be raging machismo and tidal waves of testosterone, what often stood out instead were the women - Busan's tough as nails women, with the charisma and panache of divas from the Golden Age, their often rugged exterior chiseled by time. Generalizations are always the most friendly of compeers when trying to make a point, but meet any woman (particularly of a few generations older than today's teenagers) from Busan, and you'll feel that unique color, mixing their often disarmingly pragmatic ways with the irresistible warmth and joie de vivre their exterior seldom reveals.
