In 2013, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. became the first Marvel Television series developed to be part of the sprawling MCU. In the two decades since, more than 20 shows from the company have graced the small screen, all with varying degrees of success among fans, critics, and on the awards circuit.
In fact, six of the series have won Emmy Awards, and more could follow in their footsteps this year.
To date, WandaVision (2021) is Marvel's highest achiever at the Emmys, earning 23 nominations and three wins for its costumes, production design, and music & lyrics (for the "Agatha All Along" song). The limited series, which reunited Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany's Vision from the Avengers movies, was so popular that it spawned a spin-off series, 2024's Agatha All Along.

Jon Bernthal lit the world on fire earlier this year by returning as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, and he was even rewarded with a spin-off Spotlight series coming to Disney+ next year. Just Jared has posted the first official photos from Bernthal’s Punisher spin-off, which can be found below. The first photos show Bernthal portraying a more rugged Frank Castle, similar to the one we see at the beginning of The Punisher Netflix series and when Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) first finds him in Daredevil: Born Again. Marvel has displayed a pattern of giving Frank a beard at the start of a series only to shave it at the show’s end, but fans remain hopeful this time around that the scruff is here to stay.

Filming just wrapped on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, and, in a way, Wilson Bethel still can't quite believe it's a reality. It's not often that streaming series get a second chance at life years after their cancellation on a completely different platform, even if they're as beloved as Netflix's gritty original Daredevil show. Yet, that's exactly what happened earlier this year when, after years of work and a complete overhaul under showrunner Dario Scardapane, the Man Without Fear returned on Disney+ with a vicious first season that brought back the bone-breaking violence and mature storytelling. Bethel is beyond thankful for the chance to get to reprise and build upon his role as Bullseye, but with Season 2, he's taking Benjamin Poindexter to places viewers never imagined and feeling the desire to keep this going for years to come.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again was all about superhero comebacks and Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts. While the Devil of Hell's Kitchen was no stranger to appearing on the small screen, he had to wait on the sidelines for a very long time before having the chance to join the same world in which the likes of Thor and Captain America live.
Matt Murdock, The Punisher, Karen Page, The Kingpin, Foggy Nelson, and more are officially back, and they are here to stay. But despite that, not everyone was able to make it into the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. Audiences worldwide turned to the first batch of episodes, wondering if the surprise appearance of Maggie Murdock was on the cards or if Elektra was going to turn Matt's world upside down once again. However, the narrative didn't lend itself to the appearance of these two fan-favorites, which more than explains their absence.

Slowly, but surely, the small corners of the Netflix Marvel universe are starting to make their way back into Marvel Cinematic Universe territory. It all started with Charlie Cox's inclusion of his character Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as the Disney+ series She-Hulk. Eventually, Cox reunited with several of his Daredevil co-stars for Daredevil: Born Again, a spiritual sequel to the Netflix saga that picks up on various story threads from the original series. Now, another character from Netflix's Daredevil will reportedly be making an appearance in Born Again Season 2.
As it turns out, Detective Sergeant Brett Mahoney (Royce Johnson) is set to be a supporting character in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Mahoney was a character who started as a beat cop in Netflix's Daredevil Season 1, and slowly went up in the ranks of the police force thanks to his team-ups with the man...

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has officially wrapped, with several major actors returning, but a recent social post makes the appearance of some Marvel characters less likely. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is one of the MCU series planned for release in 2026. It will continue the story of Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) that began on Netflix before transitioning to become a Disney+ sequel. Daredevil: Born Again has become a gateway for many characters from the Netflix Marvel era to join the MCU, and even more are set to appear in Season 2.
Daredevil: Born Again has already confirmed several returning faces for Season 2, such as Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page. The series is also bringing on board The Defenders alum, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, paving the way for more of the Marvel Netflix characters to return in the MCU. However, in a...

Daredevil: Born Againstreaming series co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapane quietly confirms one character who won't be back for Season 2.
As seen in a Jul. 10 Instagram post from Scardapane, the showrunner confirmed that filming on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again had wrapped, and offered a special thanks to members of the cast and crew who helped make it happen. Notably absent from the list of those who received said special thanks was Elden Henson, who famously portrayed Foggy Nelson in both the original Daredevil series and in Daredevil: Born Again.

Presumably, this means that Henson will not be returning for Season 2, which only makes sense considering his character's death early on in Season 1 was what set off many of the series' initial events. Well, it looks like that might be it for Daredevil: Born Again set photos for a while. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has taken to Instagram to confirm that shooting has wrapped on the upcoming second season. Reshoots are always possible, but it will now move into post-production.
When Daredevil: Born Again was first announced by Marvel Studios, it was as an 18-episode series. That was soon broken up into two seasons, though we'd later learn that season 2 will consist of 8 episodes rather than 9.
As for a potential season 3, that's been talked about but isn't likely to be confirmed until Disney+ sees how the second batch of episodes performs.
Here's what Scardapane had to say about wrapping shooting on Daredevil: Born Again season 2:
"And that is a Wrap on Season 2 of Daredevil Born Again. Thank you to all who made this something truly special. Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll,...

The dream of bringing back Marvel's Defenders was given new life back in May with the announcement that Krysten Ritter would be joining Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as her grizzled, whiskey-downing P.I. Jessica Jones. Viewers haven't seen the character since Season 3 of her solo Netflix series, when she resolved to keep up her heroic work, even though her foes had been dealt with and the show had been canceled. While plot details have been kept under wraps about her return to crime-fighting next year, Ritter has finally been able to open up about what to expect from her character after so many years away. Speaking to Collider's Tania Hussain for Dexter: Resurrection, the actress hinted at a Jessica Jones renaissance that will bring action and layered storytelling alike to the Devil of Hell's Kitchen's Sophomore MCU outing.

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is moving forward with its second season, and there’s already a lot going on behind the scenes. The first season brought back some of the same energy from the old Netflix series, and fans were happy to see familiar faces like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
Deborah Ann Woll returned as Karen Page, and Elden Henson came back as Foggy Nelson. There were some new characters too, helping connect the Netflix shows (known as the Defenderverse) with the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first season was supposed to be 18 episodes long, but that plan changed. Instead, Marvel decided to break it up into two parts. The second season is now confirmed and will premiere in March 2026 with eight episodes. Marvel says this season will be part of Phase Six of the MCU.
Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is also getting his own special.

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is officially getting a second season, and fans already have a lot to look forward to. The first season was a solid win for Marvel Studios, bringing back the vibe of the old Netflix series while introducing some fresh faces.
It also helped tie the Defenderverse into the main MCU. Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock, and he was joined once again by Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. There were also new characters added to the mix.

Daredevil: Born Again Star Vincent D'Onofrio Hits Back At Fan Who Claims Disney Has "Nerfed" Kingpin
Daredevil: Born Again was originally planned as a fresh start for the Man Without Fear. Like the Dcu, the series was set to keep some of the same actors as Netflix's Daredevil, but largely ignore what came before. Then, the creative overhaul happened.
The Disney+ series essentially became Daredevil season 4, bringing back characters who were previously going to be shelved, including Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.
In Daredevil: Born Again, Wilson Fisk becomes Mayor and takes over the city. In the finale, he crushes the NYPD Commissioner's head with his bare hands, arguably the goriest scene ever seen in the MCU.
Despite that, one fan recently told Vincent D'Onofrio on X that Disney has "nerfed" his version of the Kingpin of Crime. As you might expect, the actor didn't concur.
"I have to say disagree with all that you say. To be honest, my performances have been called many things but never nerfed,...

This article contains spoilers for "Ironheart" season 1, episode 1, "Take Me Home."
Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) is out of Wakanda, out of MIT, and in with a seriously bad crowd. The long-awaited "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" spin-off "Ironheart" takes Riri back to her roots in Chicago, with a burning desire to build something truly unsurpassed but a chronic lack of funding. To alleviate the latter, she agrees to join Parker "The Hood" Robbins' (Anthony Ramos) gang of criminals for some hopefully easy heist money after being convinced that they're palatable enough to work with in the short term.
Parker's group features the sort of misfits you'd expect to see in a heist-themed MCU project, from Shea Couleé's hacker Slug to Sonia Denis' erratic Clown. Perhaps the most surprising presence among them is noted comedian Eric André, who plays the team's resident tech guy, Stuart Clarke. Stuart spends much of...

Daredevil: Born Again made the controversial creative choice of sidelining Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) for its first season. Serving as a continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, the series brought back Woll as well as fellow series veterans Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Elden Henson, and Jon Bernthal. The initial vision for Daredevil: Born Again only included Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, but the series received a substantial creative overhaul to shift it from a reboot to a continuation. Because of these changes, its first season was split into two.
Both Woll and Henson have little screen time due to being late additions to the cast. From the start, Henson's character, Foggy, was planned to die as an inciting incident for how Matt has changed since Netflix's Daredevil. Because of Foggy's death, Karen and Matt become estranged. On Friday, we learned Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. We last saw the actor in action as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again, while a Special Presentation is also planned for the vigilante.
As we write this, Bernthal hasn't been announced for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, making it more likely that the aforementioned Special Presentation will bridge the gap between the two MCU projects.
How is Spider-Man: Brand New Day going to deal with Mayor Fisk's takeover of New York? Perhaps it won't.

Charlie Cox had an adorable moment with a young fan during Washington State Summer Con, and it’s now winning hearts online. The actor, known for playing Matt Murdock in the MCU, met a little boy dressed in a homemade-style Daredevil costume, just like the one Matt wore in the early days of his vigilante journey.
The two posed for a photo, and the video quickly spread on social media, with fans calling it one of the sweetest moments from the event.

Marvel fans have been treated to new glimpses of Deborah Ann Woll returning as Karen Page in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Recent leaked photos from the set show moments that have sparked talk of a possible romance rekindling between Karen and Matt Murdock, especially one image where they are seen holding hands.
The first episode of first season surprised many by killing off Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Matt’s close friend and a favorite character played by Elden Henson. Following this, Karen moves to San Francisco and cuts off contact with Matt, leaving fans wondering about her role since she was absent from the second episode.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane responded to concerns about Karen’s involvement, rejecting the idea that her part is minor. He teased that more surprises involving her character are coming, saying, “There are returns that I think are surprising and inevitable.”

Marvel Television brought the Devil of Hell's Kitchen back for the standalone adventure that MCU fans all around the world had been waiting to see for almost a decade. Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney Plus this spring, where it was met with rave reviews and a high level of fan excitement. Producer Jon Peters initially started developing Superman Lives after 1987's Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. He planned to revitalise the franchise after what proved to be a dismal farewell to Christopher Reeve's stint as the Man of Steel.
By 1994, Warner Bros. had tapped Kevin Smith to write the script, incorporating comic elements from the "Death of Superman" arc and using villains like Brainiac, Lex Luthor, and Doomsday.
Batman director Tim Burton eventually looked set to helm a version of the movie starring Nicolas Cage. However, escalating budgets, creative disputes, and Warner Bros.' hesitance after mixed reviews for superhero movies saw it ultimately scrapped.

Famed Batman writer Chip Zdarsky is certain that the perfect superhero story is Frank Miller's Daredevil: Born Again. Chip Zdarsky is an expert on both Batman and Daredevil mythos, having served as lead writer for Marvel's Daredevil for years before transitioning to DC for Batman until the series was rebooted with Matt Fraction as writer. With no bias, Zdarsky cites Marvel as hosting the best superhero story.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again ended with the Man Without Fear readying his few allies to take down Mayor Wilson Fisk and free New York. However, he's gonna need more than just Karen Page and a few honest cops to do so.
Last month, we learned that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in season 2. We haven't seen her play the character since Jessica Jones ended with its third batch of episodes on Netflix in 2019, so she becomes the second Defender to join the MCU.
A new look at Ritter in costume as the hard-boiled P.I. has been revealed today, and it's as if she hasn't aged a day. The actor is expected to have a major role as Jessica in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and like Jon Bernthal's Punisher, there's every chance she'll get a spin-off of her own down the line.

The actor is expected to have a major role as Jessica in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and like Jon Bernthal's Punisher, there's every chance she'll get a spin-off of her own down the line.

There was a time when it seemed we'd never see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen on the small screen yet again, but fast-forward a few years, and the second season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently being filmed. While Matt Murdock's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has barely started, there's no denying it has been filled with shocking twists. The character first made a surprise comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home, suited up (and off) for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and later made a menacing appearance in Echo. However, through all three projects, audiences couldn't help but wonder: Is this the same iteration of the character seen in the Netflix series?
When Wilson Fisk unexpectedly showed up in the finale of Hawkeye, there was no mention of how he was able to escape jail or clean up his name. Furthermore, he was also a bit stronger than usual.

With cameos in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and the long-awaited revival series "Daredevil: Born Again" having finally hit Disney+, it's safe to say that Matt Murdock is back in a big way. The Devil of Hell's Kitchen has fully arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing one of the most popular characters in Marvel Comics history to a wider audience -- but that audience might be in for a rude and bloody awakening when they realize just how daring this devil really is.
Many of these new fans will discover memorably grim moments in Daredevil's history through classic runs from the likes of Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis, and Ed Brubaker, and will get to experience some of the best brutal stories Marvel has to offer for the first time. They may also encounter some of the stranger moments Marvel might want us to forget about.

Daredevil: Born Again had a tumoltuous development process. The series was meant to be a soft reboot of Netflix's Daredevil, utilizing certain elements from it (mainly its stars, Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio), while still technically being a new beginning for the Man Without Fear. However, deep into filming Season 1's first few episodes, the series was taken back to the drawing board.
New creatives were brought on board, and the show was retooled as Season 4 of Netflix's Daredevil. From that, Born Again was able to bring back beloved characters like Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Jon Bernthal's Punisher. The move paid off, as the series received a warm critical reception. Still, despite its success, the mystery of what the project's original version could have been lingers.

Daredevil: Born Againfocuses on the gritty, grounded story of Matt Murdock and his ongoing confrontation with Wilson Fisk, now Mayor of New York, expanding on the events of the original Daredevil show on Netflix, but the Disney+ series nearly turned out to be something entirely different. Charlie Cox has revealed that an earlier version of Daredevil: Born Again leaned more into the realm of the fantastical, with ties to the McU's multiverse and a storyline that featured "variants" of Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page.
During a recent appearance on Deadline's Crew Call podcast, Cox spoke candidly about some of the ideas that were on the table before Daredevil: Born Again underwent a significant creative overhaul. He explained that Marvel originally wanted the series to "be a reset," building on the ideas presented in the Disney+ series Loki, which is more of a sci-fi fantasy adventure. He then revealed...

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ended with the Man Without Fear readying his few allies to take down Mayor Wilson Fisk and free New York. However, he'll need more than just Karen Page and a few honest cops by his side to do so.
Last month, it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in season 2. She's since been spotted on set (you can see those snaps below), and Charlie Cox has broken his silence on reteaming with his Defenders co-star in an interview with Deadline.
"There’s a mutual respect for one another," he teased. "She finds him overly serious and too much of a choir boy, and he finds her to be crass and making light of too many serious situations; she’s more antihero than hero."
However, Cox has one big question about their reunion, which Daredevil: Born Again may or may not answer.

When Daredevil: Born Again was first being developed, Marvel had a very different idea for the show. According to Charlie Cox, the original version of the Disney+ series included a major multiverse twist. But that plan didn’t make it to the final cut.
Speaking on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, Cox revealed that the earlier version of the show was going to use “variants” of familiar characters like Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page.
This would have made the new show take place in a different reality from the one seen in the original Netflix Daredevil series. The multiverse approach would have placed the Netflix story in an alternate universe rather than keeping it part of the main Marvel timeline.
Cox explained what Marvel was thinking at the time. “One of the things the original team wanted to do was they wanted to keep Vincent [D’Onofrio] and I.

An earlier iteration of Daredevil: Born Again would have utilized the McU's Multiverse, according to one of the show's stars. The superhero series is a revival and continuation of Daredevil, which began on Netflix in 2015 and ended after three seasons. The Disney+ show acts as a bridge between the Netflix universe of Marvel shows and the MCU, which was made possible after the rights to these characters returned to Disney in 2020.
Daredevil: Born Again was first announced in 2022, with previous series leads Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Kingpin/Wilson Fisk) confirmed to return. Matt Corman and Chris Ord served as the original showrunners on the MCU series until Marvel Studios overhauled the project in late 2023, which involved scrapping several filmed episodes. Corman and Ord left the project, and Dario Scardapane was appointed the new showrunner, overseeing Daredevil: Born Again into its current form.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will see the Man Without Fear assemble a team of vigilantes to take the fight to the villainous Mayor Fisk. He'll once again have Karen Page by his side, a character who originally wasn't set to appear in the Disney+ revival.
The creative overhaul added the Daredevil star to the premiere and finale, and a newly surfaced set photo shows Deborah Ann Woll's fan favourite reporter looking quite a bit different. This isn't the first time we've seen her in disguise, but has she become a costumed vigilante?
Another recent set photo showed the new White Tiger, and nearby was a woman who had her face covered with a red mask. We now know that was Karen, leading to speculation among fans that she's also about to "suit up" as a costumed vigilante.
It's a fun theory, but we're pretty sure this is just Karen hiding her face,...

Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) claimed he needed an "army" in the season finale of "Daredevil: Born Again," and it would appear he's getting one. Marvel Studios' first full-fledged effort to combine the old Netflix universe of superheroes with their ongoing cinematic universe was more or less a success (as you can read in my mixed review for /Film here), setting the stage for even more street-level action. The debut season ended with the villainous Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) fully in control of New York City, enacting martial law, and declaring war on vigilantes everywhere. Our scrappy heroes found themselves on the defensive, barely scrounging together enough holdouts to pose a threat to his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Luckily, all signs are pointing to a familiar face joining their ranks.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a thrilling ensemble of superheroes, many of whom have spent the past two decades saving the world - and indeed the universe - from all kinds of threats. We've appreciated watching adventures on the big screen in which the likes of Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Captain America stopped alien invasions, and on the small screen as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher all protected their city from more grounded, ancient threats.
But as the years go on, Marvel Studios has moved on from some heroes, retiring the characters or bidding them farewell with a noble, heroic death. Sometimes a new hero takes over their mantle, while most of the time it is simply retired with the hero who took their last breath in that armor.
Sometimes their legacy carries on in a friend or relative who picks up where they left off.

Charlie Cox opens up about Foggy Nelson's death in Daredevil: Born Again and why it became a "gift" for him and the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show. As exciting as it was to see Daredevil return to the MCU timeline, the beginning of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 1, struck a chord with long-time fans who have followed Matt Murdock since Netflix's Daredevil series. With the return of Bullseye, the Daredevil villain ended up killing Foggy within the show's first couple of minutes.

During the first season finale, "Straight to Hell", Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) unleashed his wrath on New York. As Fisk's corrupt task force took over the streets during the blackout, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) recognized that they were about to face a growing number of enemies.
With Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), a.k.a. The Punisher, captured, their number of allies was dwindling. Murdock realized it would take more than Daredevil to end Fisk's reign of terror, telling Karen "We need an army".

“Daredevil: Born Again” star Charlie Cox revealed his least favorite episode of the Disney+ series’ first season — and it is not the one Marvel fans might expect.

It's only been two months since the Devil of Hell's Kitchen first returned to our screens with Daredevil: Born Again, but anticipation is already running high for what's next for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Production began on Season 2 just days before the first episode aired, hoping for a quicker turnaround to build on an explosive finale uniting Matt, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) against Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his officers of the law. With everything he went through in Season 1, though, the Matt viewers see next year won't be quite the same as the one we started with. In a larger interview for an in-depth profile with Collider's Tania Hussain, Cox teased that the new episodes will explore a Man Without Fear without trust in his own instincts.

There is no doubt about it: Daredevil: Born Again has quickly become one of the most successful shows of 2025. It's no surprise either, for the Marvel Studios series has been anticipated for years, as fans of the original Netflix series have waited for Disney Plus to revive it. This was the year that those wishes came true.
Audiences were thrilled when Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Wilson Fisk, Vanessa Fisk, and The Punisher all returned to screens for the revival and it gripped us all throughout its nine episode first season. Nobody was more thrilled than star Charlie Cox, who had been waiting for another chance to put on the mask since the cancellation of the original series in 2018.
However, Cox wasn't particularly thrilled about one episode in the new series, and it might come as a surprise.

Nobody was more thrilled than star Charlie Cox, who had been waiting for another chance to put on the mask since the cancellation of the original series in 2018.
However, Cox wasn't particularly thrilled about one episode in the new series, and it might come as a surprise.

Charlie Coxcares very dearly about Daredevil. And that was evident when Daredevil: Born Againwas released on Disney+ and we saw Cox return to the role of Matt Murdock. It means that he isn't afraid to defend the character and his opinion on things, which is something he recently shared. During an interview with The Playlist recently, Cox shared that there was one episode during Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again that fans like that he wasn't the biggest supporter of.
When speaking with the outlet, Cox was asked about the new series and the infamous reworking of it. Before Born Again was released, fans heard whispers of an original draft of the series that reportedly included Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) essentially being erased from canon. The show was obviously reworked and changed, but Cox shared that one episode stayed through the strikes and into the reboot: "With Interest.

When anyone thinks about the character of Daredevil from the MCU recently, their minds go pretty quickly to the Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. By the time the Season 1 finale aired, the show saw Matt (Charlie Cox) team up with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), as the trio formed a squad to take on the Avtf (Anti-Vigilante Task Force) led by Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). But prior to arriving earlier this year, the character had featured prominently in the Netflixseries, Daredevil. The show was widely acclaimed and ushered in a new dynasty of Marvel storytelling, but the absence of major players from the wider MCU was certainly felt in the self-contained format. Daredevil Season 1 showrunner Steven DeKnight has expanded on why the Netflix series only had loose connections to the MCU, and how, in his opinion, it proved to be a good thing for the series.
