Will Ferrell is one of the funniest actors of his generation, with a list of hit comedy movies that have aged brilliantly. Will Ferrell first rose to prominence as a cast member on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s. He had a few minor movie roles during this time, like his memorable cameos in two Austin Powers movies and his flamboyant villain role in Zoolander, but he didn't make his best movies until he left SNL.

Will Ferrell's best comedy movies often see him playing ignorant manchild characters, like in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers. Ferrell can go for crude comedy, slapstick and broad humor, but he's also intelligent and reserved when he needs to be. This subtle range means that Ferrell's greatest hits are more varied than they might first appear, with animated movies, sports comedies and more showing that he has endless ways of making his audience laugh.

If a crisis erupts on board a commercial aircraft, you want to know the flight attendants are prepared to handle any desperate situation. Chris, Wes, and Clear, the cabin crew in the comedic short Cock N’ Bull 3, are not those guys. They’re more likely to be the cause of an emergency than the ones resolving it.

Wes (Danny Rhodes) provides a running stream of non-faa approved commentary over the Pa system. Chris (Nathan Adloff) locks eyes with an older man within minutes of takeoff. Later, he tumbles out of the forward lavatory with his shirt off, apparently having just joined the Mile High Club with his gentleman friend. Earlier today, we showed you a new photo of Hugh Jackman as an Old Man in his final Wolverine movie entitled Logan, along with a rumor that claimed the first trailer will arrive tomorrow. It turns out that rumor is true, with Hugh Jackman debuting a brief trailer preview, which comes ahead of the first full trailer tomorrow. While it hasn't been confirmed exactly when the full trailer will arrive, the rumor from earlier today stated that the footage will likely arrive at 9 Am Et/6 Am Pt.

I assumed upon hearing its title, that Nate and Margaret would be a quirky indie rom-com in which a young couple get together, break up and then get together again, having learnt some valuable life lessons along the way and exchanged some winning one liners, possibly co-starring a comedy dog. I was right on some counts but off the mark on others. Most unfortunately, there’s no comedy dog. Pleasingly though, Nate and Margaret managed to be far less predictable than that and was in fact an enjoyably offbeat tale of friendship.

In 2013 they'll be producing both the horror anthology I Scream You Scream and the slasher flick Released.

I Scream You Scream is a modern day throwback to The Twilight Zone: The Movie and Creepshow, with a darker and original twist. The producers promise fright with the upcoming anthology as well as a new spin on the genre. The producers will be attaching seven to eight directors in the fall of 2012. Directors that are currently attached include Jack Perez (director of Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and Some Guy Who Kills People), Spencer Parsons (director of Saturday Morning Massacre), Kris Swanberg (Empire Builder), and Frank Ross (director of Audrey the Trainwreck and Tiger Tail in Blue). Rhodesclosed Productions, Willow Road Entertainment and producers Danny Rhodes, Teresa Schaeffer, Emily Vajda and Marc Singletary are in prep on the horror anthology I Scream You Scream.

Shooting is scheduled for late-January, early-February shoot date and will feature the works of eight directors.

Currently, Jack Perez, Spencer Parson, Kris Swanberg and Frank Ross are attached to direct.

Perez helmed this year's Some Guy Who Kills People, meanwhile, Parsons has Saturday Morning Massacre on the way.

Rhodesclosed Productions, Willow Road Entertainment and producers Danny Rhodes, Teresa Schaeffer, Emily Vajda and Marc Singletary are setting their gears to full speed ahead with horror anthology “I Scream You Scream,” slated for a late January, early February shoot date.

Chicago – Chicago filmmaker Danny Rhodes has been tapped to direct his first feature film, “Released,” a thriller which has the potential to grow into a long-running horror franchise. Willow Road Entertainment and Rhodes’s new company, Rhodesclosed Productions, are planning to shoot the film in 2013. According to Rhodes, the budget will be between $750,000 and $1.3 million.

“Released” aims to subvert the iconic “Halloween” and “Friday the 13th” franchises with its female antagonist and its dash of supernatural themes evocative of the current box office champ, “The Possession.” Rhodes has previously served as writer and producer of the web series, “Bad Sides,” and has acted in a number of acclaimed indies including “Audrey the Trainwreck,” “Blackmail Boys” and “Nate & Margaret.” It was Rhodes’s rough cut of his upcoming horror short, “He Ain’t Heavy,” that garnered him the attention of producers and ultimately landed him the directing job.

Chicago – Nothing forms the basis of a friendship quite like a shared understanding. When the hearts and minds of two people are compatible. everything else falls into place. It doesn’t matter if one happens to be a 52-year-old woman and the other is a 19-year-old man. That’s one of the simple truths that “Nate & Margaret” illuminates without drawing too much attention to it.

The ages of Margaret (Natalie West) and Nate (Tyler Ross) are irrelevant. When they’re first seen browsing through a thrift store with a mixture of curiosity and amusement, their chemistry is immediately apparent. It’s clear that they provide each other with a sense of comfort and completeness that they haven’t found with anyone else. Yet as both friends reach pivotal transitional points in their lives, their tight-knit relationship threatens to stunt their growth. Only on their own can Nate and Margaret truly explore their identities as individuals.

Chicago – One of Nathan Adloff’s goals as a filmmaker is mastering the art of the awkward silence. That moment when audiences shift uneasily in their chairs, balancing on the razor’s edge between amusement and agony, appeals greatly to Adloff, a self-professed fan of Christopher Guest and Todd Solondz. His award-winning shorts “Untied Strangers” and “Irregular Fruit” are both squirm-inducing gems.

For his feature directorial debut, “Nate & Margaret,” the Chicago filmmaker made a couple notable departures from his usual work method, the results of which can be seen at the movie’s Chicago premiere June 8th at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Instead of relying heavily on improvisation, Adloff crafted a script with his close writing partner, Justin D.M. Palmer. And though his picture is chockfull of awkward silences—at brutal open mic nights and in tense restaurant altercations—it is also a surprisingly warm-hearted and endearing look at an unconventional friendship.

He does not appear to have any real beef with his job – Ron seems to have all but given up on any loftier career aspirations. His remaining goal in life seems to be retirement, which is years away. Outside of work – especially after being struck in the back by a friend’s wayward dart – Ron grows increasingly irritable, verbally taking out his anger on friends and acquaintances alike. His overprotective room mate, Scott (Danny Rhodes), seems to suffer the brunt of Ron’s worst rampages. Ron’s love life is comprised of a tiring routine of internet dating.

During the opening credits of Audrey The Trainwreck there’s a scene where the main character Ron (Anthony Baker) is a victim of a horrible bar room dart accident. As the credits continue, the title flashes across the screen for a second time, this time followed by “Or…these things come in threes.” As the film plays through the monotony that is Ron’s life, we eagerly await the foreshadowed accidents.

22 year old Lauren started singing lessons at the age of 13, although she started private Lamda tutorials at the Hinkley Speech and Drama Studio at the age of seven and began her ballet classes at the age of two!

When Lauren was born she had a condition which meant she had to wear two hearing aids. She stunned doctors at the age of 18, however, when her hearing came back to a normal capacity.

She believes that Dorothy has a lot of balls and guts which she says she has – she wants to be a funny Dorothy, with lots of spark. She would also love to put all her training into action in the role. She feels that she is as impulsive as Dorothy is, and that like her, she is constantly striving for bigger and better things.

Not all of the great film festivals are outside of the U.S. Even if you can’t book a ticket to Cannes or Berlin, you should be able to afford a flight out to Austin, Texas for SXSW, which is a festival for not only movies, but music and video games as well. Like the years before, the line-up for the 2010 SXSW Film Festival is the goods. Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass will open up the fest and then there will be other great-looking films throughout including The Duplass Brothers’ Cyrus, SNL’s hard-r adaptation of MacGruber, Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass, and Floria Sigismondi’s The Runaways, just to name a few. If you’re going to this year’s SXSW, let me know so I can steal your identity and go in your place.

Less than a week worth of recovering from the Sundance Film Festival, and we are already looking forward to our next, big film fest coverage. That would be the South by Southwest Film Festival held annually in Austin, Texas. Last year, Scott and I brought you all kinds of coverage from the Lone Star State, and this year doesn’t look to be much different.

With that, the announcement came last night of the feature films that will be playing at the SXSW Film Festival. Previous announcement were already made about films like Cold Weather, Electra Luxx, Hubble 3D, Lemmy, Saturday Night, and The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights making their debut. Kick-ass was recently announced as the opening night film, as well.

Among the other films being presented this year are some Sundance darlings, a few, highly anticipated premieres, and MacGruber.

I was so excited at seeing the SXSW line up last night that I completely forgot to post it and started searching the interwebs for cool content to go with it. Oops. Yes, I wish I was there but alas, it wasn’t mean to be (though don’t despair. We’ll be bringing you wicked awesome coverage).

But enough rambling, you want to know what’s all playing. Well, for a start there’s the much anticipated McGruber (trailer), the Duplass’ semi-mainstream comedy Cyrus, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs (trailer, review), Daniel Stamm’s horror flick Cotton and that’s on top of the previously announced titles which include Electra Luxx (Carla Gugino as a pregnant porn star? Bring. It. On.) and Kick-Ass (trailer). That’s already a great line-up but dear me, some of the other titles are pretty awesome too.

Late yesterday the SXSW Fim Festival, which runs from March 12-20 in Austin, TX, announced the full lineup of films that will be screening at this year’s event. And baby, it’s quite a list. Mixing big name films with intimate indie gems, the sheer number of films and the vast array of talented filmmakers is sure to be a hit with attendees and critics alike.

This lineup includes premieres of studio films such as Universal’s MacGruber, Lionsgate’s teen superhero actioneer Kick-Ass and smaller films like Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs, Michel Gondry’s The Thorn in the Heart and Steven Soderbergh’s And Everything Is Going Fine. With so many films to watch, it will be very difficult to find time to seem them all during the events nine days. But hell, we’re going to try.

The 2010 SXSW Film Festival and Conference has announced its initial slate of titles. The list is rife with hot world premieres (Kick-Ass), films fresh from Sundance (The Runaways, Cyrus), hot titles from the 2009 editions of Tiff and Cannes that haven't had much U.S. play (Enter the Void, Dogtooth, Trash Humpers), interesting documentaries (Lemmy, The People v. George Lucas) and much, much more. Simon Rumley's Red, White & Blue, which has received much praise on Twitch based on its Iffr screenings, will have its North American premiere.

Midnight programming courtesy of Fantastic Fest is also back with titles like Higanjima, Monsters, Serbian Film, Outcast, and a yet to be announced special film. Keep eye out for SXSW coverage at Twitch, but for now, pursue the massive list below (descriptions courtesy of SXSW).
