Frightfest 2015: ‘Awaiting’ Review
Starring: Tony Curran, Diana Vickers, Rupert Hill, Sophie Lovell Anderson, Peter Woodward, Adrian Bouchet, Charley McDougal | Written and Directed by Mark Murphy

If you’re travelling across the Yorkshire Moors you damn well better not be travelling alone or – heaven forbid – at night, otherwise your loved ones will be identifying your half-digested remains found in the woods outside Northallerton. You’d think people would have learned this lesson by now, but commuting businessman Jake (Rupert Hill) appears to be a slow learner. After a freak road accident he wakes up in the rural home of Morris (an unhinged Tony Curran) and his sheltered daughter Lauren (pop star Diana Vickers) and attempts to leave so that he can attend an ill-defined but ultra-important “business meeting” and, oh yeah, propose to his girlfriend.

This is easier said than done,...

DVD Review: Stag Night of the Dead
Stag Night Of The Dead

Stars: Sebastian Street, Rez Kempton, Jeff Rudom, Sophie Lovell Anderson | Written and Directed by Neil ‘Napoleon’ Jones

Dean is all set to get married in the morning and nothing’s going to stop the crazy full-on stag party organised by his mates. Not even the recent zombie apocalypse. Six guys, plenty of booze, a stripper, and Zomball – which is like paintball, only players get to shoot lasers instead of paint and zombies instead of each other. You see, with all the zombies around it turns to provate contractors to get rid of them and what better way than letting joe public blast the life (pardon the pun) out of them for shits and giggles. But what begins as a fun stag do soon turns into a fight for their lives as the zombies just won’t stay dead and the wedding party (and the stripper...

Stag Night of the Dead and Breaking All the Rules: A Movie Review
*a screener of this film was provided by Left Films.

Director/writer: Neil Jones.

Cast: Sebastian Street, Sophie Lovell Anderson and Joe Rainbow.

There are three rules of Zomball in Stag Night of the Dead: 1) stay together, 2) look out for the recharge station and 3) never humiliate a zombie. The characters in Stag Night of the Dead break all of these rules and unsurprisingly, many of the characters do not make it to the end credits. Stag Night of the Dead will release on DVD and iTunes January 9th and this film is a satisfying romp through a zombie apocalypse. The grainy film stock and a few poor character choices are the only elements that hamper a comedic movie watching time.

The film begins with six men on stag. Dean (Sebastian Street) is the groom and he has only one more night of freedom before marrying his very bitchy sweetheart.

UK Trailer Crashes the Party at Stag Night of the Dead!
Ah, the stag night: that ritualistic farewell to unmarried life via an evening of unfettered revelry and shit-faced debauchery. While the morning after brings a distinctly zombie-like appearance to all involved, the cast of Neil Jones’ Stag Night of the Dead have a few more of the flesh-eating type to contend with when their choice of celebratory activity goes very, very wrong. Dig on the trailer, some stills, and UK release details right here!

From the Press Release:

Zombie mayhem will be ringing in the New Year as the British zombie comedy Stag Night Of The Dead is to get its UK release on 9th January on DVD and iTunes.

Set in the wake of a zombie outbreak, when private companies are cashing-in on ways to dispose of the undead, Neil ‘Napoleon’ Jones’ film is about a stag party out for a game of Zomball – like paintball except that you get to shoot zombies.
