Why Chase And Cameron Got Divorced In House, M.D.
Image
Chase and Cameron's relationship in House, M.D. started as a flirtation and turned into a "friends with benefits" situation before they eventually got married. Their marriage ended due to strain caused by Chase adopting some of House's bad qualities and a disagreement over ethics, ultimately leading to their divorce. Cameron admitted to having doubts about her love for Chase and brought divorce papers to the hospital, officially ending their marriage in House, M.D.

House, M.D. featured many romantic relationships over its eight seasons and 177 episodes, and one of the most significant romances in the show was between Dr. Robert Chase and Dr. Allison Cameron. Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison played Chase and Cameron, respectively, and their characters were introduced in the pilot episode. Chase, a surgeon, and Cameron, an immunologist, were a part of Dr. Gregory House's diagnosticians team at the fictional Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.

Who Is Greg Laurie? The True Story Behind Jesus Revolution's Central Character
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Jesus Revolution!Jesus Revolution centers around Greg Laurie, the Evangelical author and pastor whose eventful life was as colorful as the 2023 Christian drama. Set in the politically turbulent decade of the 1960s, the unconventional biopic movie follows the journey of Greg, the easygoing Christian hippie Lonnie Frisbee and the stern but good-natured pastor Chuck Smith as they immerse themselves in the Jesus Movement in California. Spanning across the late 1960s and early 1970s, this evangelical movement was revolutionary at its time for opening the church doors to even hippies willing to become people of faith.

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer portrays Smith while Jonathan Roumie plays Frisbee as they discuss and debate how to make the average 60s-era Church more open to people across all age groups. Jesus Revolution ultimately spreads a message of universal love but with none of the formulaic preachiness that other faith-based films usually subscribe to.

Is ‘Jesus Revolution’ Based On A True Story?
Image
Christianity-based fringe movements began to take root in America throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and they eventually extended to other parts of the world before subsiding in the late 1980s. The Jesus movement was built upon a passionate faith that focuses on the human relationship with Jesus and the efforts of profoundly following Jesus in every aspect of life. With evangelical Christianity, the young followers underwent a revolution in a significant part of the world, and many individuals began turning to religion as a means of relief from their suffering and drug addictions.

Based on Greg Laurie’s novel of the same name, John Erwin and Brent McCorkle debuted their recent film “Jesus Revolution,” which centers on the renowned ‘Jesus Revolution’ from the 1970s and focuses on real-life individuals who played a significant role in bringing the faith to a community of ignorant young hippies who often wallowed in the darkness of an impulsive lifestyle.

‘Jesus Revolution’ Review: Solid Faith-Based Movie Remembers Time When Christians Welcomed Longhairs Into the Flock
Image
Half a century ago Hollywood was frantically trying to figure out the newly-dominant “youth market.” Since some of that market had recently found Jesus, there was a brief spate of related films: Zefferelli’s hippie-fied St. Francis biopic “Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” adapted stage musicals “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Godspell,” the Billy Graham-produced “A Time to Run” chief among them. But as the “Jesus Movement” got absorbed into more mainstream institutions, the brief vogue flickered out.

For a moment there, however, counterculture and Christ had a groovy thing going on, one that promised both salvation for those who’d gone overboard on sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll, as well as a healthy shakeup of churches that had lost touch with younger generations. Dramatizing that moment is “Jesus Revolution,” an engaging, upbeat new effort from co-directors Jon Erwin (“I Can Only Imagine”) and Brent McCorkle (“Unconditional”), adapted from Greg Laurie’s memoir.

‘Jesus Revolution’ Review: Kelsey Grammer & Joel Courtney Find Religion Among The Hippies
Image
It is not often these days that you get a Hollywood studio release born out of the late-’60s and ’70s hippie movement, but in blending a true-life faith-based story with the uninhibited counterculture of the time, you have Jesus Revolution. It’s the latest spiritual exercise from the Erwin Brothers’ Kingdom Story Company virtual factory of inspirational faith-based films that really took hold with their 2018 smash hit I Can Only Imagine and more recently included the Kurt Warner football story American Underdog.

Unlike many films in the genre, which find their greatest box office success in the South and Midwest, the Erwins don’t dwell on pounding the message into their movies (thank God for that), but there is no question that belief in God when you might be at the lowest point of your life, questioning everything, is a key component, and clearly they look to real life for their inspiration.

Crisis of Faith: New Johnny Cash Movie Doesn’t Know If It’s a Documentary or a Sermon
Image
The defining moment of the new documentary Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon is when Johnny Cash says he found God in the darkness of East Tennessee’s Nickajack Cave in the fall of 1967. Cash, who retold the story many times in later years, was at the height of his fame and in the depths of his amphetamine addiction when he laid down in the cave to die before having a spiritual revelation: “I was going to die at God’s time,” he wrote in his 1997 autobiography, “not mine.

‘Dirty Dancing’ Sequel Sets 2024 Release; ‘Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret’ Heads To Pre-Summer 2023
Image
Lionsgate announced this afternoon that their Dirty Dancing sequel starring Jennifer Grey will hit theaters on Feb. 9, 2024.

Deadline first reported about the project, which Jonathan Levine is directing off a screenplay by Elizabeth Chomko, Jonathan Levine, Mikki Daughtry, Tobias Iaconis. In part 2, Baby (Grey) takes us back to Kellerman’s Resort for a story of summer, young romance, and dancing. That weekend is the pre-Valentine’s Day weekend and right now Universal has an untitled animation film on the calendar.

In addition, Lionsgate’s feature take of Judy Blume’s 1970 novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret will now open April 28, 2023 instead of Sept. 16 this year. Universal recently moved DreamWorks’ Distant off that date to Jan. 27, 2023. While I hear Lionsgate likes the new pre-summer date for the Judy Blume movie, I’m wondering now if New Line’s feature take of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot in the previous Sept.

The Christians Who Think the Ukraine Invasion Means Jesus Is Returning to Earth

The day after Russia started dropping missiles on Ukraine, pastor Greg Laurie took to Facebook with a message for his flock. To much of the world, current events may look like the unhinged machinations of a megalomaniacal authoritarian intent on worldwide disruption, but to Christians of a certain ilk, Laurie argued that the war could be viewed as something else entirely: a sign of the second coming of Christ. “Is there any prophetic significance to what is happening in Ukraine right now?” the heading of the post posed. “The answer is…...

‘Passion of the Christ’ Star Jim Caviezel Says Mel Gibson’s New Sequel Will Be ‘Biggest Film in History’
Mel Gibson at an event for Edge of Darkness (2010)
This hype is of biblical proportions. In late August of 2016, filmmaker and actor Mel Gibson confirmed what many fans of his monster hit “The Passion of the Christ” had long been expecting: “The Resurrection” is coming. At the time, Gibson told evangelist Greg Laurie that the long-gestating project was “a huge undertaking” for him and screenwriter Randall Wallace, adding that it’s “not the ‘Passion 2.'”

As he explained, “It’s called ‘The Resurrection.’ Of course, that’s a very big subject and it needs to be looked at because we don’t want to just do a simple rendering of it — you know, read what happened.”

During that chat, Gibson also told Laurie that there were no firm plans for the film’s production schedule, but it appears that might have changed in a major way.
