‘Somebody Somewhere’ season 2 trailer: Bridget Everett’s ‘outsiders’ comedy series returns to HBO [Watch]
Image
HBO has released a trailer for the sophomore outing of “Somebody Somewhere,” the critically acclaimed comedy series inspired by the life of star Bridget Everett. Billed by HBO as “a totally platonic love story,” the series will continue to explore love, loss, and acceptance as it focuses on the relationship between Sam (Everett) and Joel (Jeff Hiller), her new best friend who introduces her to a chosen family of self-perceived “outsiders.”

The trailer opens with the duo singing and dancing as they make martinis and reveals that Joel has temporarily moved in with Sam. This new dynamic is certain to provide more heartwarming moments and potential new conflicts as the show’s emcee of sorts, Fred (Murray Hill), is depicted explaining to Sam that, “Families aren’t easy. Not even the fun ones.”

SAG-AFTRA, Adam Schiff Express Alarm on ‘Deep Fake’ Technologies
Logo
Members of SAG-AFTRA and Los Angeles Congressman Adam Schiff sounded alarms Monday about the proliferation of “deep fake” technologies — realistic digital forgeries including sex scenes.

“We have a medium in which lies and fear travel faster than anything else and this has happened practically overnight,” said Schiff during a two-hour panel discussion at union headquarters in Los Angeles.

“I am deeply concerned that deep-fakes could be used to spread disinformation or interfere in our elections, and we have already seen these technologies used to harass, exploit and invade the privacy of private citizens, particularly women,” said Schiff. “We have another election coming up and it’s more important than ever for the public to distinguish between what is real and what is fake. Our democracy depends on it.”

Union member Alyssa Milano said she’s been attacked with lies due to her politics, resulting in a loss of income.

Interview: Vince Vaughn, Ron Howard, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, Channing Tatum of ‘The Dilemma’
Chicago – After a 12-year hiatus from comedy (his last was “Edtv” in 1999), the legendary (and typically dramatic) director Ron Howard is back to crack you up with “The Dilemma”.

The Chicago-filmed dramedy is part comedy (with the well-cast chemistry of Vince Vaughn and Kevin James) and part drama (with Winona Ryder and Jennifer Connelly).
