The Wolverine director James Mangold has already lined up his follow-up to that yet-to-shoot superhero sequel, signing onto direct a remake of City State.
Olaf de Fleur Johannesson wrote and directed the original Icelandic thriller City State, which centers on four strangers whose lives are affected when a foreign mafia moves in on their Icelandic drug trade. The four characters are a crooked police captain who is in love with a prostitute, an elderly mafia boss who wants to get out of the crime syndicate alive, a mechanic seeking vengeance for the death of his unborn child, and a female police officer who is attacked by street thugs and then takes the law into her own hands.
James Mangold will develop the remake with Cathy Konrad of his Tree Line Films company. Danny Sherman and Josh Kesselman will produce for Principal Entertainment.
