Born in Canton China and raised in California, Kim is an award-winning actress. She won a Lead Actress Indie Spirit Award for her 2021 role as Jean in JP Allen's feature film, Girl in Golden Gate Park and was also nominated for Best Lead Actress at the SoHo International Film Festival. She believes stories can heal, connect and illuminate.
Kim made her feature film debut starring as Jenny in Joy Dietrich's PBS film Tie A Yellow Ribbon. The film won three Best Film Awards and a Special Jury prize and was premiered at international film festivals world wide and she has also starred in other award winning films.
Kim studied theater at Southern Oregon University and acting and film in New York City with Bill Esper.
