Love and Death Ending, Explained
Image
The following contains spoilers for Love & Death Season 1, Episode 7, "Ssssshh," now streaming on Max.

Love & Death Episode 6, "The Big Top," ends on the uncertainty that Candy Montgomery was stable enough to testify in trial after taking anti-anxiety medication. But those who have watched Hulu's Candy or had knowledge of the infamous Candy Montgomery trial in real life knew that Candy was getting away scot-free -- at least not completely. As her lawyer Don Crowder tells the jury in his closing argument, Candy will be locked in the Gores' utility room for the rest of her life, whether she's found guilty or not.

The seven-part series on Max began with a three-episode premiere depicting an affair between Candy Montgomery and Allan Gore, Betty Gore's husband. Compared to Candy's actions of slashing Betty 41 times with an axe, it was an innocent start to a rather eventful series. The ending though,...

Breaking Bad: Jesse Pinkman's Friends Ranked
Image
With the release of El Camino, Jesse Pinkman's (Aaron Paul) story has finally reached its end. Jesse Pinkman had a beautiful character arc that took him from an amoral, self-involved criminal to a conscientious man hoping to make a better life for himself. As Jesse went on this journey through Breaking Bad and El Camino, he had many friends who helped him along the way. At least some of these friends helped him, others proved to not really be as ride or die as Jesse originally thought.

Jesse Pinkman's friends range from violent drug dealers to kindhearted love interests, so his life is certainly never dull. Each one helps to shape him into the rich and complex character that he is by the end of the series, but some had better influences on him than others. Though Jesse had many associates, there were relatively few that he could actually call...

Interview: Love & Death's Drew Waters Delves Into the Appeal of True Crime Stories
Image
Drew Waters didn’t take the typical road to Hollywood. In fact, he joined the Navy just after high school. While in service, the striking Texas native was discovered by a modeling scout, eventually signed to an agency and went on to appear in campaigns for Versace, Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren, among others. Waters, however, soon found his true passion in the entertainment industry. Friday Night Lights fans might recognize him as Coach Wade Aikmen, but Waters has amassed a variety of television and movie credits including NCIS: Los Angeles, The Resident, Magic City, Transformers: The Last Knight and Desperate Riders. Audiences can currently catch Waters on the HBO miniseries, Love & Death.

Based on a true story, the David E. Kelley drama finds housewife Candy [Elizabeth Olsen] having an affair with her neighbor, Allan [Jesse Plemons]. The fling goes sour when Allan's wife, Betty [Lily Rabe], turns up dead...

‘The Resident’ Season 3, October 22, 2019 Episode 5 Delayed. Not Airing Tonight
Hey, "The Resident" fans. Unfortunately, we have some very bad news for you guys tonight. It turns out that the 5th episode of your favorite show has indeed been delayed this week. In fact, the whole, usual primetime line up for Fox has been delayed. We'll get into the reason why in a second. But first, we want to tell you that the new episode 5 is now scheduled to air next Tuesday night, October 29, 2019 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on Fox of course. So, be sure to mark down that very important date on your TV show calendars. Now, the big reason why Fox isn't airing the new 5th episode of "The Resident" tonight is because they have devoted their entire primetime schedule to covering Game 1 of the Major League Baseball World Series. Fox's official description for their Live coverage of Game 1 of the Major League Baseball World Series reads like this,...

'The Preacher's Mistress': 'Chuck's' Sarah Lancaster travels down a dark path
"Chuck" alum Sarah Lancaster stars in Lifetime's newest original movie, "The Preacher's Mistress." Rife with all the drama a title like that suggests, Lancaster's character Gwen Griffith deals with many more problems than Ellie and Awesome ever had to deal with during the entire run of "Chuck."

In the new movie, Lancaster plays a single mother trying to get through her day-to-day while raising her son Alex. It doesn't help that her mother Ellen is constantly trying to match Gwen up with various men in the hopes she can find love. But Gwen can barely balance work, her son and the online classes she's taking until she meets her seeming Mr. Right, Ed Baker (Drew Waters), though he of course comes with a catch.

For Gwen, that catch means some major bad news. It turns out Ed is the preacher at a popular church and married with kids. Not a...

Shorts Worth Watching: Justin Gullett’s “Distortion”
I have featured Justin Gullett’s short film trailers before on this site and I am returning with another one. This one is called “Distortion” and believe it or not this thriller won Gullett a national award and three global awards through the online competition of the former reality series, “On the Lot,” known as the “Movie Making Challenge.” The American Idol-esque reality show was produced by three-time Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg and reality TV pioneer Mark Burnett.

Gullet was a contestant on the TV show as well as participated in the at-home competition that allowed anyone to enter his or her own videos online through TheLot.com.

“Distortion,” won week five — horror week — of the online challenge in where anyone could submit a two- to three-minute film for that week’s genre or theme. Here is where Gullet was about to pull out of the competition decided...

I Spit… remake director’s ‘Mongolian Death Worm’ to get UK airing
Director Stephen R. Monroe recently rose to prominence in the horror community with his satisfying and well-received remake of the classic video nasty I Spit On Your Grave, and whilst that film has brought Monroe plaudits and kudos, it wasn’t always that way…

Monroe carved out his early career with numerous straight to DVD monster movies, and more recently a number of Syfy original movies. One such monster movie, Mongolian Death Worm, is set to receive a rare UK airing in June on Movies24. Written and directed by Monroe and starring former Young Indiana Jones and Saw 3D star Sean Patrick Flanery, Drew Waters and George Cheung, the film sees:

an American oil company sets up an experimental drilling plant out in the vast deserts of Mongolia, they awaken a nest. The deadly creatures begin to breed and spread, devouring everyone in their path. The only person who can...

Mongolian Death Worm (2010)
Directed by: Steven R. Monroe

Written by: Steven R. Monroe, Neil Elman, Kevin Leeson

Cast: Sean Patrick Flanery, Victoria Pratt, George Cheung, Drew Waters, Billy Blair, Cheryl Chin, Jon Mack

There’s a lot going on in Mongolian Death Worm, the underachieving Syfy original movie directed by Steven R. Monroe. Is it the story of a self-described "scoundrel" hunting for treasure? Or is it the tale of a dedicated doctor trying to save a village from pestilence? Or is it the account of oil exploration run amok that is also a metaphor for the way humanity is looting the resources of Mother Earth to deadly consequence? One could say it's all those things, and maybe that's why Mongolian Death Worm fails to entertain as well as it might. Or maybe it's just because the filmmakers never deliver any more than is absolutely necessary. Yeah, that's probably it.

Sean Patrick Flanery plays Daniel,...

'Mongolian Death Worm' (SyFy, Lionsgate): Movie Review
Review by Michael Pickle, MoreHorror.com

From the cable network that brought you such small screen gems as Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, Alien Apocalypse, and Mega Piranha comes the latest Syfy Original CGI-fest Mongolian Death Worm.

Although not a masterpiece, it's not as bad as you think. Sean Patrick Flanery brings a certain level of sweaty charm and the resident hot chick, Victoria Pratt, turns in a decent performance and certainly looks good doing it, but I wouldn't go so far as to recommend this. If you're at home alone on a Saturday night and it happens to come on SyFy channel and nothing else better is on then, by all means, tune in. I wouldn't miss a rerun of the Simpsons for it though.

When an American oil drilling company starts experimental drilling in Mongolia they awaken a large colony of giant, burrowing, man-eating worms. These worms, as legend tells it,...

Beware the Mongolian Death Worms!
We now have a new favorite title for a Syfy original movie: Mongolian Death Worms! But bear in mind that they didn’t make up that moniker; it seems the Mongolian Death Worm is a cryptozoological species that has been reported and investigated for decades now, which makes it a surprise that Syfy didn’t catch up with it sooner.

The Worm supposedly ranges from 2 to 5 feet long and lives under the sands of the Gobi desert, from which it emerges to kill its prey via either spitting caustic acid or launching electrical shocks. As for its movie incarnation, Mongolian Death Worms recently lensed in Dallas, TX for Ogre and Wyvern director Steven R. Monroe, who scripted with Sea Beast’s Neil Elman. Veteran actor-turned-filmmaker Andrew Stevens produced, with Masters Of Horror: The Damned Thing’s Sean Patrick Flanery, House Of The Dead 2’s Victoria Pratt, George Cheung...
