  • Cole has been recognized with numerous awards for his satirical short film, Black Don't Crack (2018), including "Best Picture" at the Calabasas High School Film Festival and "Best Editing" at the Pacifica Screen Student Film Festival. This film has also been acknowledged globally and was invited to the Moroccan Youth Film Festival and the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival.
  • While still a high school student, Cole's short film, Magical Negro (2016), was screened and taught at Atlanta's historically Black liberal arts school, Spelman College.
  • Music inspirations include Dev Hynes, Stevie Wonder, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Bon Iver, Marvin Gaye, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Beach House, Solange, Roy Ayers, and Toro y Moi.
  • Has credited Alejandro González Iñárritu, Billy Wilder, Wong Kar-wai, Terrence Malick, Christine Swanson, Sidney Lumet, Donald Glover, Bong Joon-ho, and Barry Jenkins as some of his inspirations.
