Biography

    • Erik Gow is a Vancouver actor, playwright, composer, and educator who lives and practices on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam nations.

He has been active in the Vancouver theatre community for the past ten years and is a graduate of the prestigious Studio 58 theatre school. In 2019, he made the fulltime transition into film and television and is already becoming a recognizable face in both local productions and network television, most notably as the recurring role of Mr. Parker on DC's Legends of Tomorrow (CW).

As a Jessie Award nominated artist, Erik has performed with numerous companies in Vancouver and across Canada. He has specialized in using his transformative abilities to play recognizable biopic characters, staples of the musical theatre canon, and originating roles in many national and world premieres.

Erik has been a theatre education artist for Western Canada's largest Shakespeare festival, Bard on the Beach, The Shadbolt Arts Centre, Arts Club Theatre, Arts Umbrella, Gateway Theatre, and the University of British Columbia. He also hosts masterclasses and workshops in acting, voice, music, and physical theatre.

Erik is an emerging playwright and composer with various credits to his name. He has written several holiday shows for Vancouver's Metro Theatre, composed multiple TYA shows for the Beach House Theatre, and Axis Theatre, two original musicals for Studio 58, and has sound designed and composed for other companies in the Lower Mainland. As a playwright Erik's original play "First Lady" has been workshopped and developed by Zee Zee Theatre under esteemed Canadian Playwright Dave Deveau, and director Cameron Mackenzie, and he was a member of the Arts Club Emerging Playwright Unit for the 2019/2020 season where he developed a musical adaptation as both composer and book writer. Erik began his writing training at Studio 58, and has continued his studies at Andrew McIlroy studios, and Intersections Media in screenwriting.
