Biography

Ian James is an award-winning theatre and film actor from Houston, Texas. He began performing onstage in community theatre at the age of 4. Since then Ian has been in over 25+ plays, musicals, and short films. He studied Acting and Directing at Sam Houston State University. Upon relocating in 2018, he subsequently studied with some of the top acting coaches in Los Angeles including Howard Fine, David Coury, Lesly Kahn, Ivanna Chubbuck, Margie Haber and the Zak Barnett School. During the pandemic he partnered with Netflix as Billy Hargrove with the original LA cast of The Stranger Things Drive Into Experience. In 2021 he became an international actor landing one of the lead roles in the Belizean feature film "Paradies" streaming on BET+. He sits on the Selection Committee for The Blank Theatre's Young Playwright's Festival. Holding many versatile positions in the world of entertainment Ian is an actor, writer, singer, production assistant, and musician playing both piano and guitar.
